Where to begin? Webcams! (Why don’t more centers have these?). Truly nice and engaged teachers and management. Lots of long-term main staff. Afternoon staff is more fluid but we’ve always felt our child is in good hands. Also their website is amazing. So much good info, and also parts of it are really hilarious.

KidWorks is the BEST! We’ve had three children go through the program, and they were super well-prepared academically. Our oldest is now in Middle School and thriving. Our youngest wants to be a KidWorks teacher when she “gets big”.

The accessibility of the Directors sets this school apart. I’ve literally texted Julie our school's Director at home at 9pm about a concern and gotten an instant response. You can tell she cares deeply about the program, and is supported by the school’s owners. We appreciate the webcams, the Brightwheel, the extended hours (we can’t always pick up before 6:30), and the Parents Nights Out are a wonderful benefit. We love that all the proceeds go directly to the staff working the events.

Choosing this Preschool was one of the best decisions we made for our child. We were impressed that they published all of their DCF Inspection Reports on their website, and the Assistant Director who gave us our tour(s) couldn’t have been more patient, honest and open. Wait time to get in was longer than we would have liked but well worth the wait.

Some things went on at our previous center that made us uncomfortable, although our children seemed to be well cared for there for the most part. What drew us initially were the web cams. We also liked the fact that the original owners from back in the 90’s still actively run their centers and respond to emails any time, even on weekends and after hours. We asked around quite a bit and they have a great reputation.

Nice place. My son goes there and he loves it! The employees are great and from what I’ve seen so far my child gets enough attention. The lady from South Africa, I believe, is the best!

My daughter has loved attending Kidworks for the last 2 years, and we have been very happy with the caring of the staff and the relationship s they have built with our family. We have nothing but confidence in Kidworks. After a bad experience at another daycare we have been happy that we switched to Kidworks. Our daughter has become very socialized, learnt to be compassionate with her friends, and the academic program is great for her age group. I would recommend Kidworks to anyone.

My son has been attending Kid Works for years and is about to graduate. No business I've ever had dealings with would rate as highly as Kid Works. The owners care, the teachers are first-rate, and my son is going to enter kindergarten way ahead of the kids who went through the VPK program. You cannot find a better preschool in Gainesville.

We enrolled our 2-year-old son at Kidworks on a Wednesday (11/13/13). He attended Wednesday and Thursday (11/14/13). We were called Thursday afternoon saying that Friday (11/15/13) would be our son's last day. The reason? They said his medical condition was "too complicated." He has a history of febrile seizures, which is not uncommon in young children (up to 5% of children have febrile seizures). When we offered to train the staff on febrile seizures, the director declined the offer and cited mild allergies and a requirement of using sunscreen as other medical factors that contributed to their decision. We asked if there were other factors involved in this decision and the director said there was not. My complaint with this daycare is this: 1) They require 2 weeks notice for you to remove your child, but they only gave us one day of notice (both my wife and I work full-time as clinicians in healthcare, so this was a HUGE problem and such a policy is rather hypocritical); 2) If they do not accept children with a history of febrile seizures, they should have told us this on Wednesday before he was enrolled - we were very open about his medical status; 3) The decision was made by the owner and director without speaking with us, rather we were simply told he could not return; 4) When we asked them to use sunscreen and/or bugspray (we do live in Florida, after all!), the director refused. There are a lot of really good daycares in Gainesville. This is not one of them. A very disappointed and concerned parent.
