  Had my first experience at Mode Salon East this past Saturday with Tiffany, and I've gotta say, my hair was absolutely atrocious! I had very low expectations due to how badly my purple hair color and multi-colored roots were, but as you can see, she absolutely nailed it and I left feeling wonderful! Not too many stylists can perform the type of miracles that this beautiful lady did and I just can't thank her enough! I'm new to Gainesville and this was my first salon visit here, I'm glad I made the right choice by coming here! 10/10 Will return! Super friendly staff too, all smiles the whole 5 1/2 hours I was there. Lovely ambience and omg the chair was SO comfortable! After a few hours at work in my office chair, my back is killing me, but half the day in her chair and I felt zero pain or discomfort! These are the little things I pay attention to, and genuinely appreciate in a good quality salon! Bathrooms were nice and CLEAN as well 😉

  Edit: After my last text they never responded or made any effort to remedy their mistakes.
  
  Horrendous experience.
  
  Quoted $210 (paid $250 +$50 tip) & 4 hours (5+).
  
  They continuously tried to pressure me into a frizz treatment, a dusting, etc. Had to repeat multiple times on two separate days (consultation and appointment) that I did not want any of my hair cut.
  
  They did not remedy their sloppy work, only made excuses and oh so nicely told me about the no refund policy (I never even mentioned wanting a refund).
  
  Front desk receptionist was lovely and the only reason they deserve even a single star.
  
  There are 10+ salons within a couple miles of Mode Salon, I recommend going elsewhere.
  
  I can see from the owners replies to other negative reviews that they will not hold any accountability for their stylist's poor work.
  
  Also, there was a soiled pack of wipes in the bathroom, very unlikely they check the bathrooms or clean them frequently (as a business should).
  
  All I wanted (after my initial picture was rejected) was to have my roots blended. 5+ hours later my hair looks the same only slightly grey. I was told the toner would eventually wash out so I will be left with my original hair color.
  
  One of their actual responses to another low review was the owner telling people reading reviews to skip that review. What?? 😂

  Just had my hair done at Mode Salon East and I’m SO happy with the results! The salon is super clean, has free parking (a major bonus!), and the staff are seriously the nicest people ever. Brii did an amazing job fixing my hair—she’s the most experienced stylist I’ve ever met! I highly recommend her if you’re looking for someone who truly knows what they’re doing. I’ll definitely be back! 💇‍♀️✨

  I went in for a highlight and received a partial, but as soon as I saw the result, I felt it wasn’t blonde enough. I mentioned this to the stylist right away as I was getting up to leave. She was kind, patient, and encouraged me to sit with it for a bit, saying I was welcome to come back if I still felt unsure.
  
  When I did return, I was happy to pay more to get the additional blonde I wanted but I didn’t expect to be charged another $200 for a second partial, especially after I had expressed my dissatisfaction just a day later. Considering a full highlight is only $250, it feels a bit unreasonable to have spent over $400 in one week trying to achieve the look i wanted.
  
  I truly appreciate the stylist’s time, effort, and professionalism my hair does look great now. But had I known I’d be charged the full amount twice with no adjustment or discount, I probably would have gone elsewhere for the second appointment.

  Alexia arias was my stylist. They were super helpful and guided me through the haircuts I had showed them and talked me through how they would all look before we settled on a style. Amazing conversationalist and amazing work, would absolutely go there again when I need my hair cut next.

  Spent $55+20% tip on a bad haircut that took 20 minutes- no shampoo, styling after the cut, or any products used. The stylist, Claudia, did this to save time because she was 20 minutes late for my 11am appt. When I questioned the price due to the lack of shampoo, styling and products, the desk clerk argued. I shouldn’t have paid and certainly shouldn’t have tipped, but I did just to get out of there as fast as possible before I burst into tears over the horrible haircut I got. Will not return and do not recommend. You’re better off going to Supercuts.
  
  EDIT: I received a phone call from the salon offering to refund my money IF I removed my bad review. The $66 is money well spent to warn others to avoid this business.
  
  EDIT: Responding to the owner’s response: I was never offered any adjustment nor was I requested to give them the opportunity to fix their mistake. I was offered a refund in full ONLY IF I removed this review. That was it. I would not remove it and still stand by it. Garbage service and then lies in a public forum to make it seem like something different happened. Had they asked that I come in to see if they could fix the cut and make up for their subpar service, I would have accepted with a different stylist and removed this review. I have not gone to a salon since this experience. I just cut my own hair and it still looks better than their $66 haircut.

  The more I look at this haircut the more upset I get at how off-base and poorly done it is. I went in asking for a chin-length layered bob with face framing bangs and left with a 90s boy curtain hair cut; the longest part falls just below my ear lobes.
  
  I showed reference photos and the hairstylist, Brent, confirmed the length being chin-length. At the end when I had him go back in to fix things, he tried to tell me it is the same style as in the reference photo just on a different hair texture. It is not. He cut the bangs way thicker with no framing aspect to them, and the whole style is 2 inches shorter than the reference photo. The back is a complete hack job and visibly uneven. This may be from when I had him fix the bulkiness where he took the shears and cut vertically into my hair willy nilly to thin it out. At that point I decided to cut my losses because I had no trust in him being able to fix it.
  
  I have never felt more insecure about my appearance in my life. The salon itself if nice, but I would never recommend Brent Perkins-Scofield. I chose him because he was one of the more senior stylists, but the quality of the service was definitely not worth the elevated price.

  They prioritize walk-ins over appointments, even those scheduled 3-7 days in advance. If you are busy and can’t risk spending an extra 30-60 minutes, go elsewhere. Ironic that they will charge you fully for missing an appointment not cancelled within 24 hours but they have no problem not even bothering to cancel on you at the last minute but making you wait - and without any penalty. They’re not even sorry or upfront about it, which is disrespectful and unprofessional. I just started going there and it’s happened twice in last 4 times, so not a one off.

  Really cute salon. Love that it's local, and the design is so unique. I saw a stylist who was so wonderful and kind and thoughtful - I cannot recommend it enough. I had a waxing appointment with Kyna and she was so attentive. And we also had a great conversation! Everyone was so kind and helpful, it's a great salon. And they have really great products on sale too!

  I’ve been visiting Mode Salon East for years, and I always leave with amazing hair! I've been a client of Brent’s for a few years, and he truly listens and pays attention to detail. With a few gray hairs coming in, I wanted a balayage, and Brent helped me achieve a warm balayage that I absolutely love. Not only does Brent take his craft seriously, but he also shares his expertise with other salon specialists around Florida. Overall, the staff is wonderful, and the vibes are fantastic. I highly recommend checking out Mode Salon!

  It was my first time here and it was amazing. Everyone was super nice and they did an excellent job. I highly recommend it. The ambience was very warm and welcoming and the location is perfect for me. I will definitely be back.

  I decided to make the big change of going from long hair to short hair. Scary and exciting! I had the most amazing experience with Rosie at Mode Salon and I couldn’t be happier with the cut she gave me. She is super friendly, very easy to work with and incredibly talented. She gave me great feedback about the photos I brought in so that I was sure to make the best decision for my hair, face and personality.
  I will definitely be going back to her for my cuts in the future and I would highly recommend her to anybody looking for a fabulous cut and/or color.
  And of course a before and after, because it’s what we all really want to see.

  I've been here twice and have not had a bad experience yet. The first time i visited, Karen cut my hair, she was so sweet, great to chat with. On my most recent visit, there was a communication error with scheduling an appt for my friend and myself. The receptionist was not the most understanding when I explained what had happened, however, when I explained the situation to Rose, she was happy to accommodate both of us. Rose was an absolute peach of a person, fun to chat with and just the sweetest. I will 100% be visiting Rose in the future. Thanks, Rose 💜

  Last month was my first time with Rosie. I have short combination wavy and straight hair. Rosie took the time to give me a great haircut that falls into place when blow drying. She was both friendly and professional. She offered advice that I didn’t even think of. Everyone at the shop was pleasant. Will go back for a haircut and surface foil tomorrow.
