My time didn't matter to them. 2.5 hours for an appointment oil change

I dropped my car off on the Wednesday after MLK day for a battery change and an oil change. Michael (one of the receptionists) tells me that there was a problem with the seal and that the mechanic they want working on it would be there the next day. They also told me the job would take 7 hours to do. I call the next day and I’m told the part isn’t coming till Friday by Sammy (he made it seem like he just ordered the part but I’m later told they ordered it Wednesday). By Saturday, I’m told that the car is finally being pulled in to be worked on. Jaime ( another receptionist) tells me it’ll be done before closing, but around closing, tells me the car won’t be done that day. By Sunday (of the same week), they figured out they had ordered the wrong part (Travis said the part ordered was the part for a Benz). They also tell me the car is not close to finish, even though they supposedly worked on it all day the day before for a 7 hour job. When I call later for an update, I’m told that it was actually the gasket that was the problem and not the seal and to come in cause they’re going to be finished before closing. When my girlfriend and I come in, before we can even get the receptionist, The mechanic comes out the back and tells Michael that there is no way that the car is being finished today. When Michael notices us, he takes us to take a look at it and the car is still in pieces (about an hour from closing).
After a few more days working on the car (they didn’t know how to put the car back together cause the mechanic from Sunday wasn’t there), I'm then told that the car can't start and they can't figure out why.
After days of testing, they decided to wait for the master technician (Wayne) to come back. Once back. Wayne figured out that it was the torque converter, which they admitted fault for messing up during the gasket fix. After taking days to fix that, they called us in only for us to learn they had not reconnected the alarm and they had broken the driver side door handle. After leaving it there for a few days, they realized they had broken the transmission as well (which they also admitted fault to). Bobby (the store manager) promised to give me a warranty with the new transmission as well as give me back the car in better condition then they received it in. With that in mind, they had to order a new transmission as well as a door handle. They spent weeks after that trying to get the transmission and the door handle in, during which I had an argument with Bobby about not caring enough to which he finally checks in on the handle personally and lo and behold, finds that there was an issue and has to reorder it.
They finally called me in to pick up the car only for me to realize they had cracked the windshield, not painted the door new handle (which obviously from a used and worn car), my alarm still wasn't working and they refused to give me any warranty on the new transmission after promising they would. After Bobby (the store manager) declined to fix the crack in the windshield or even take responsibility, I took the car to a firestone to have the car evaluated. They found that the O2 sensor was left unplugged, the rear engine mount bolt was only holding on by a few threads, the AC fan was cracked, and that some of the transmission lines were lower than they should be. I'm also hearing a rattling sound in the engine when I drive it.
At this point I would like to reiterate I only went in for a battery change and Oil change. Before they figured out it was the engine gasket and not the seal, I was given no update until after they had started fixing it and therefore did not consent to the initial fix that lead the problems later. I was also given no update on when the initial part would come in was led to believe the issue would be handled the next day every time I called. The corporate of pep boys has also refused to take any more responsibility for the work done by this store. At this point, I have reported them to the Florida Depa

Bobby the store manager is all about money. I initially paid $40 for them to diagnose the issue I was having with my car. They listed all of the issues they found and I paid almost $1000 for the service that was most important at the time. I was initially working with Michael, and I let him know that I would be back next week to complete the rest of the needed services. The following Saturday I arrived at my appointment time. Michael was not here, only Travis & Bobby. At this time, Bobby tells Travis that the items listed on my diagnosis sheet are not what need to be done. He comes up with some other "issue" that needs to be addressed first and they quote me over $1400 for this. I tell Travis "no offense, but I was not working with Bobby, so I don't think he knows what he's talking about". But since Michael was not in that day, I guess Travis had to follow the directive of his supervisor. I definitely was not though. I immediately left and took my car to Tires Plus on 34th and paid only $20 for them to diagnosis my car, and what do you know.. the 3 things listed from Pep Boys initial evaluation was what I needed. Whatever extra Bobby was saying I needed, Tires Plus found nothing of the sort. I strongly feel like Pep Boys tries to take advantage of women and are money hungry. I am now questioning what I would've paid for the first service I paid them for had I just went to Tires Plus from the beginning. I forgot to say they also took an entire day to diagnose my car and provide an estimate, whereas Tires Plus called me back in an hour and had my car back to me within the same day. Just save yourself the headache and wasted time, do no do business here.

Would leave 0 stars if option 8 am appointment for brakes and oil change on a basic toyota on a fleet account. Then was told at 12 they didn't even receive the brakes yet then at 2 told they were given Mexican brake pads and that's the issue for delay over 6 hour wait on brakes and oil with an appointment definitely go anywhere else ended up waiting over 9.5 hours when I left my glovebox had been rifled through my center control rifled through. They didn’t complete the oil change they didn’t get the brakes left. And their ase mechanic flat out told me he didn’t know what he was doing bruhh but he tried his hardest. I was given a 1300 bill for an oil change and brake job and left with no police change or brake job and they refused to give me a district manager to talk to. Do not ever go here .

I went in to get my rotors replaced because I had a noise coming from my driver side tire. During their inspection they missed my wheel bearing hanging on by thread.
They then tried to sell me repairs ie having all 4 rotors replaced and a new brake caliper. After I got my truck “fixed” I drove off the lot and my wheel almost fell off. They broke my abs speed sensor during my rotor repair. It was unsafe to drive and they didn’t do a test drive to check if the issue was resolved. Here are photos from another mechanic about the issue they missed.

For the current visit I would rate no stars if that was an option. I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. I have only used the Pep Boys location on Newberry Rd in Gainesville for the past 2 years for all of my service. Today I was not informed prior to leaving the shop that my engine air filter housing was broken. I noticed my car was louder than normal so I returned to Pep Boys and I formed them of that. I looked under the hood upon returning and noticed the air filter housing wasn't completely closed. After they looked at it again I was then informed it was broken and must have been that way when I brought it in. Pep Boys technicians are the only ones to ever touch my car for the past 2 years. I should have been told before I left it was broken. They did nothing except basically say it was my problem. So I'm ot happy, especially having to come out of pocket almost $200 for a new air filter housing. I will never go to that Pep Boys location again and may just take my car elsewhere all together in the future.

I had an 11:00 appointment at Newberry location to have an oil change and my front breaks done. I didn’t leave with my vehicle until 5pm. Micheal Bennet was very rude and aggressive. Travis and Jamie were extremely kind . After waiting 4 hours I was told by Micheal that they did not have the breaks that were needed for my vehicle. 4 hours to basically get an oil change done. When I told Micheal I wanted my vehicle and was ready to leave he stormed off and shouted to pack it up to the mechanics. I waited another hour to have them put my vehicle back together. Travis then pleaded with Micheal to basically compensate us for the wait. Micheal continued to be rude. “You’re good to go” was all he said . I asked for a recipet for my vehicle with a description of what was done. Looking over my recipet Micheal only put the oil change . Micheal also documented my tire pressure as 5 psi for all 4 tires. Micheal ALSO put the incorrect mileage on the paperwork along with the sticker. Unfortunately I will not be going back. Micheal is rude, unprofessional, and outright aggressive to the staff and clients. When I asked Jamie if this is how he always is she stated “he’s military so” what an awful excuse for awful behavior.

Took our car in for an oil change . Soon as the mechanic was backing our car out of the bay he was dragging the bottom plastic piece under our car because they didnt put the bolts back in to hold it in place . As soon as we brought it to their attention wanting our car to be put back together the way we brought it to them . I came back an hour later to see the mechanic zip tied the bottom of my car back together instead of trying to find the bolts they misplaced .

Came in for 1 bad tire for my Tesla Model 3. I am not surprised it took me 3 hours the day before Christmas as they had to change all 4 tires, do an alignment, and an EV inspection. Tesla's I am sure are not the easiest to work on however I have had many alignments done in my life on various vehicle. After I left I was going on the interstate and all of a sudden the car bot only pulled to 1 side and the other, it was SKIPPING! It rumbled and the steering wheel was off center to the right about 30 degrees! I am sure this vehicle would have crashed or broke down again given it's unstable condition! When I had to drive ten minutes back I asked for the service manager. He said that a more junior mechanic did the work!! Why would you put a more inexperienced mechanic to work on something more complicated!??? SHAME ON YOU PEOPLE FOR WASTING 4 HOURS OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!

Responded to the Newberry Rd., Gainesville, FL. shop location, (Store#127), to have diagnosed and corrected a left rear turn indicator bulb. I had some previously, possibly-related electrical wiring harness issues with the vehicle and explained that to both the Service Advisor and the Installing Technician. The bulb was replaced for a total of $30.77 dollars, (the part cost $5.99), and it failed that very next day. You would think that the Service Center would have run AT THE VERY LEAST an electrical check for harness shorts...as least to the rear area and connections of the vehicle prior to replacing the bulb and would have gone over that analysis with me. Nevertheless...this was not done, and, the result was apparent (another trip to the shop with another BLOWN bulb).
Due to the busy holiday season, (closings, delays, and such) I have not been able to contact the service center....some twenty-five miles away, to allow them to correctly diagnose and repair the fault since (Service was performed on DECEMBER 27th, in at 10:05am), but certainly will be contacting them after the New Year holiday to allow them the opportunity to make it right.

The young man Sammy at the counter was excellent. He handled what was going on very well. If it hadn't been for him I would have left.

The slowest and most unprofessional employees I've ever seen. They broke my rear wiper just switching out the wiper blades. Then I had to make a 2-hour round trip back the next week so they could fix what they broke. They spent more time playing on the computer checking me in than it took to fix it. The manager never had the courtesy to come out and apologize. He was too busy chewing out an employee in front of the customers.
