This store is the only pet store I know of in Gainesville. It has a pet hospital and grooming business located within. People seem to be happy using those services. The store is clean and handicap accessible. The aisles are especially wide. The fish zone always is good and kid friendly and makes them happy to come. They have pet and cat adoption departments too. The floors are clean. There are rodent, birds and lizards is cases you can pick from to buy.

Lowell, particularly, wasn’t interested in helping me, in the least. Matter of fact, he walked away after suggesting one color for me & clearly had better things to do. I was looking for approximately 6 gallons of stain for a deck. I guess that wasn’t worth their time. I would not recommend. Drive to Duvall, in Jacksonville, if you must - they were eager to help me that morning via the phone. Gainesville, is just closer to Melrose. I will not be returning.

Stopped in for a "Pawdicure" during Yappy Hour and had a great experience with Sam! She was very patient with my anxious puppy, keeping things calm and steady, which I really appreciated.
My only minor complaint is that I asked for the basic version but was given the upgraded "Pawdicure Plus" service by mistake, which my puppy didn't need.
Overall, though, the checkout process was pleasant, and everyone was friendly. Would definitely go back!

The two folks running the cash registers this afternoon are awesome (and I’m sure deserve a raise). One handled a frustrated customer with incredible patience, kindness and grace, and the other assisted a college student with a project like this was an educational museum and not a pet store. Seriously kind crew! Thank you for making me feel better about humanity today. 🫡. Notable enough to make me sit in my car and write this on my way out of the store.
