“I’ve struggled to write this because it’s hard to find the words to describe how wonderful Mrs. Myrtis is. So I asked my son “what do you like about Mrs. Myrtis?” He said “sometimes I go to school crying and she makes me feel better. She sits with me on the big playground. Sometimes I’m on the rug by myself all alone and I want people to sit with me and she calls them over to sit with me.”
I love his answer because he is describing inclusion and that’s what I love most about Mrs. Myrtis.
I met her last year when she peeked over and said “oh it’s going to rain” I said huh? She said Andrew has shoes on today, it rains when he wears shoes. I thought about it, and she was right. On sunny days he would leave the house with no shoes and put them on in the classroom, he didn’t like his feet getting wet so if it had rained or was raining he’d let me get his shoes on in the house. They became great friends and he wanted to move up to her class and needing to be potty trained to do that was one of the biggest motivators for him to potty train.
He hates getting dressed and would fight putting pants on. I said “do you want to wear a dress?” one day in frustration. And he said yeah, and then said he wanted to wear a dress every day after that, so I bought him a dress. He wore it to school and she asked for an explanation and I explained the fighting about getting dressed, and that I wear dresses, his sister wears dresses, his cousin and best friend wears dresses, there’s nothing wrong with wearing dresses. She nodded and said supporting our kids in little ways now shows them you’ll support them in big ways when they’re older. I get it.
She gets him in ways that a lot of other people don’t and I will always love her for that.”
“We love everything about Abacus. Everyday we pick up our daughter she is smiling and happy. She has been here since she was 9 months old and we feel so comfortable leaving her here! Her Teacher Ms. Auri is a blessing and keeps us updated daily, 3-4 times on how she is doing! Highly recommend them if you are looking for somewhere professional and loving!”
“We have been so impressed and grateful for Open Arms Child Academy. Our son started just before he turned two and is now almost three. He has learned so much since joining Open Arms. It is obvious to us that Open Arms is truly working with him, and not merely baby sitting. They bring an ethical and moral standard to their approach and to the classroom. I feel blessed to have them as part of our life routine. Highly recommend.”
“My daughter started at 15 months and we have been there for two months now for the summer semester. We have had a really positive experience, and she seems to really enjoy being there. We currently do half days every other day, and it’s been a great ease in for her. Staff is very caring and communicative. I feel good about dropping her off knowing that she is going to be well taken care of and have fun experiences (painting, sensory bins, gardening, etc)!”
“I would like to nominate Miss Cheyenne with heartfelt gratitude. I have witnessed firsthand her incredible dedication in the classroom, especially with my daughter, Mía. Every time I see her engaging with the kids, I can see the patience, warmth, and true passion she brings to them.
Miss Cheyenne doesn’t just teach, she nurtures. I’ve seen how Mía has blossomed under her care, coming home inspired and happy. Miss Cheyenne’s dedication is visible in every moment, whether it’s encouraging a shy child or celebrating a small success.
She embodies what an outstanding educator should be, and I wholeheartedly believe she deserves this recognition.”
“I recently stopped by to check out O2B Kids as a future option and was pleasantly surprised. The facility felt bright and inviting, with a fun atmosphere that seems like a great fit!
Everyone I saw was welcoming and attentive, and the overall vibe was positive and relaxed. It gave me a good impression and feels like a place I’d keep in mind down the road!”
“It’s my toddler’s 5th month in this daycare and we absolutely love it! I’m impressed by how much hands-on the management is. They know each kid very well. I had concerns about my son’s development and have received so much detailed input about everything he does; from his interactions with peers/teachers, his sensory preferences to his toileting/sleeping/eating habits which feels like everyone in this daycare knows my son so well and notices the tiny details I have monitored closely without me even asking them to. My son had to switch 2 daycares before and no manager had known much about his day-to-day like this place. The teachers are very very patient and gentle and they tailor to each kid’s needs without judgement. My son had been judged and neglected due to his speech delay in other daycares before and I think KidWorks is a place for him to heal. I watched my friends’ kids grow here from infancy till they went to KG. You wouldn’t want to put your kid anywhere else. I wish my son had started here as an infant, I would’ve known and watched every bit of his growth throughout these critical times of his development. I never thought I’d find a place that cares about my son’s well-being and future like KidWorks does. We’re so happy we are here!”
“Love the ladies at Kiddie academy, they take care of my baby girl so well. Shes in the infant class. And I know it can be scary at first, but She’s always all smiles when i drop her off and when I pick her up and They’ll let me know if they have any concerns, if her day was off, when she had a great day, ect. They treat your babies like their own. I’m so happy my baby goes here.”
“I absolutely love this childcare center. My two older boys went here from the ages of 1 and 6 weeks and stayed until they left for Kindergarten. Once I had my daughter and needed to place her in daycare Love n Care was the call I made. All of the staff are very professional and caring. The daycare gives a loving family environment. I recommend this childcare center to anyone I know looking for care. We love Mrs. Netra & Ms. Erika for providing our babies with the best place in town to learn and grow.”
“My daughter loved going to school everyday. She came home singing the songs she had learned in class. The facility is well kept and employees are wonderful people.”
“While my mother was recuperating from a broken hip and arm, Shands Homecare assisted with nursing care, physical therapy and home health aide. Everyone involved provided very compassionate and professional care. The staff were very pleasant and enjoyable and went above and beyond to assist me. We would always recommend Shands Homecare.”
“Cuddly kids academy is wonderful. My daughter smile and runs to the door every morning I drop her off. When I pick her up she always looks so happy playing with the other babies and her teachers. She was struggling to talk when I enrolled her; she’d only say 15-20 words. In less than a month she was saying >50 words and is now speaking in 3 word sentences and pronouncing more complex multi syllable words. Her diaper is always fresh and she’s always had a recent snack. The people who work here are amazing and we are thrilled and grateful with the job they are doing with our baby.”
“Thank you to the dedicated ELC Alachua team for providing support and guidance for our students, teachers, and families. We greatly appreciate your partnership with us and your advocacy in our community.”
“The teachers have always been super helpful & nice. They always love my babies & my babies love them.
At 2.5 & 1 yrs old they were switched into daycare from being home & the transition was smooth. The cameras helped me feel more comfortable with someone else watching my kiddos. Definitely made the transition easier.”
“My son has been going here for a little over 6 years. I wouldn't go anywhere else. The staff truly care. They go above and beyond for child safety and education. My son loves going here and I feel good knowing he is safe and taken care of while I'm at work.”
“This has been such a great place for our kids. We had our son attend before he started vpk and then vpk which was so good for his growth.
Now we have our second child following the same route and will be with Ms. Taylor who is always excited to see her students and spend the day with them!”
