I adore Sephora and have been a royal customer for at least 7 years. I used to enjoy shopping at this business since the customer service was excellent. It's been a hard couple of years, and the sales staff have been unpleasant to customers, including myself. Excluding an older sales rep, she has always been really sweet, but any other new sales rep has an attitude and refuses to help you when you need it. I have determined from now on, I will be purchasing Sephora through online delivery.

Poor customer service! After I asked for help with a Merit product, the employee looked and said they were sold out. She sent me to someone else who informed me that she could order it for me and it takes 3-5 days before coming to my home. I decided to order it online and while doing so, it said the product is currently available at the store. Anyway, I ordered it this morning for pick up and it indicated my order should be filled in approximately 2 hours and I would be notified by email when it’s ready.

This isn’t my usual store, but it’s the closest to where I live. I was in town for a dentist appointment and decided to stop in to browse as I was kid free with extra time. I was looking forward to taking my time and maybe splurging on a new product I’d heard about. First, I walked all around the store OBVIOUSLY not finding what I was looking for, yet no one offered to help me. When I did finally find the brand I was approached by someone who tried to makeup ON HER OWN skin when I asked how to determine my undertone. So I just picked one and hoped for the best. I continued to peruse the store, but I kept noticing the same woman walking near me and even commenting on her microphone thing quietly. It made the whole experience super uncomfortable and like I criminal trying to steal. I probably would have purchased a lot more, but I grabbed one other item I needed and just called it a day. Maybe they’ve had a problem with theft, but they just lost my future business. The SJ Town Center treats me a lot better for someone who spends a small fortune there every year! I’ll drive the extra 30 mins there next time. Also, I’m 40 and had on no makeup so can’t blame it on them thinking I’m a broke college kid.

Went to pickup an online order, the girl told me to go stand in a specific aisle to wait (I didn’t know where that was). She came and found me and rudely told me I was “supposed to be over there”, then she nudged her finger at me. I’ve given this store so many chances but their employees ruin it every time lol

Lousy service with misinformation.
I stopped by this store on Dec 9th for some hair and skin care products. After picking up several items, one of the sales told me I could receive some goodies if I purchased another hair product. I was confused and surprised, but who doesn't like goodies, so I double-checked with her what kinds and how to get them. She told me there would be some skincare and oil products, not the foundations or other usual stuff, because of the holiday season. I also confirmed with her that I just needed to check out first and then ask the cashier. So I went to the checkout desk and paid off my order.
However, when I asked the cashier, "Is there any goodie with the purchase?" the cashier said, "There is no goodie; we're out of goodies," with an annoying face. Btw, she didn't smell either during the entire checkout. I was very confused, then said, "But the girl in the front area of the store just told me if I purchase this item, it would be some goodies". Then this girl talked to someone over her headset, opened a drawer under her desk, grabbed two small packet samples, and put them into my Sephora shopping bag. Again, she was insulting, didn't explain anything, just put them into the bag with her annoying face. I felt very uncomfortable because of her attitude, so I said, "I don't want these. I will check with the girl who told me about the goodies". So I returned the two packets to her and asked the 1st girl what was happening. Very interesting, now the 1st girl just told me, "We don't have goodies. Only the online store gives goodies. There is a miscommunication." Meanwhile, another employee went to us, kept saying the same, and tried to give a couple of sample packets. I refused and told them, "I don't need these samples; I just came here for some nice shopping after work. This is not what I expected; I feel very uncomfortable; you know what? I don't want these items anymore; I will return them". So I went back to the cashier and returned my purchase right away. The 3rd girl who did my return asked me what the reason for the return was, so I explained what happened. She pretended she didn't care at all, just kept saying, "Only online stores offer goodies; we only give samples for a reason," "I'm not part of this," and " Have you opened the products?". After she finished the return, I asked her if I could talk to the manager, and she said the manager had taken the day off. Then I said I will write a review. She said, "It's your choice; there is nothing I can do. If you want, I can ring your order and give you more samples.". I said no and left the store.
Overall, the entire team of this store doesn't know about honesty and customer service. I will not return to this store for sure. I'm mainly doing my beauty purchases with department stores, Bluemercury and Med SPA. So I think I will just burn the 1000s points left on my Sephora account and never shop with them again.

I would guess that a scarf and sweat pants intimidates these employees. Laughing loudly :) . I was shopping for someone else. All I asked for was a reprint of an itemized receipt including the total and not just the items purchased. You could tell the manager wasn’t up for someone challenging how she’s been doing her job. My job is not your job and I don’t want your job. Be blessed. You never had to show hostility to reprint a receipt, however, since you are not use to change in a work environment you folded under pressure and yelled at me “ yeah you have great day too.” The tone behind your statement was not appropriate and very immature. You are to remain humble in front other employees and customers. Keep a positive attitude and not show a disconnect to a SEPHORA’S customer all because they are dressed differently. You are the leader of your co-workers and lord knows yelling at someone that’s not faced your way is not a good sign of leadership.

Inconsistent service here from staff. When I came here before, one of the staff with glasses was really nice. Today, the exact same person was really rude. Definitely ruined my experience and likelihood of coming back to this sephora location.

I’m a Sephora Customer since the 90’s. But coming to SEPHORA in Gainesville it’s a nightmare. The management is rude, the employees are CLUELESS. Unprofessional employees and they love to HARRASING the customers. I’ll stopped shopping at Sephora and moving forward. ULTA will be my place to go. Please replace the employees. Otherwise Sephora will be closing anytime soon.Sephora Gainesville Staff are low class and very displeased. I did many claims via phone and no results. The same ladies still there doing the same.

i have never been followed so intensely as i was in this store. i spent maybe 20 minutes smelling colognes and perfumes for a gift and was stared at by the employee the entire time and asked no joke 5/6 times if i was still interested in the scent they were holding behind the counter for me. not to mention the fact the employee was RUDE after the 5th time of telling her i was still looking and STILL going to purchase the scent she put aside for me. i don’t understand the logic in hovering over me while i have no product in my hands.

Terrible customer service please train your staff properly. Staff acts miserable. never received any help with makeup but sales associates were very eager to upsell me at the register. Disappointing to see as I recall this store having helpful staff in 2021-2022. This is the only big makeup store in the area and if was not for this fact I would not be returning.

Was in store for 15 minutes, went up to three different employees to ask for help each one referred me to someone else and told me to wait. store was not that busy and people who came in after me were being helped perform me. literally four staff members at each corner not assisting anyone but could not assist me. The only person who tried to help was a young lady at the front door she called multiple times to no avail I do appreciate her help.
