Generally when a service is a booked for a certain day and time, the customer can assume to arrive to said business on that day and time. Especially when there is no communication prior to state otherwise. “Reliability”, “accountability”, and “customer care” are phrases that are clearly foreign to this U-Haul location. I would advise literally any other location in Gainesville for renting a moving truck, aside from this one.

The website confirmed my pickup at this location. I got here, the store was closed and the mope pickup did not work. I have been waiting 40 minutes for the general manager of another store to come and help me pick up my rental.

If zero stars were an option, I would have given 0/5. We rented our unit from you for almost one year straight, and payments were always made on time if not in advance. After this experience, I am actively turning away all friends, family and anyone else who asks from your company. There was zero lightning in our unit, and the hallway where our unit was located had a single lighting fixture in the middle of the 60 unit row, of which only worked about half the time we visited. The hours posted for allowed facility entry wete 7am-10pm, but about half our trips out to try to get into our unit were met with locked doors or broken keypads. All of these times were within posted entry hours. As for security, the reason for us deciding to leave is due to our unit being broken into and some of our furniture items broken as boxes/totes destroyed. I still today have had ZERO notification from U-Haul about this occurrence, and I fully believe if not for the Alachua County's Sherriffs department contacting me directly I would know nothing about it. In talking with some of the other victims, it was discovered that this has happened multiple times in the month of March alone, and we were not notified. According to several of the managerial staff we have no right to know that the facility was breached and our possessions were not as secure as we had been lead to believe. They only contact those units directly affected at the time. Well U-Haul, I am still waiting for my call. I am sure glad I never stored anything too valuable with you, and if I did I never will again. All of this doesn't even bring up the way the "fixed and secured" my unit after the break in. We were assured by the GM Garien Banks that they had a repair tech coming out to fix the door and lock on our unit. As it turns out, that guy was the GM, who decided it was an acceptable way to fix our door by taking the part of the lock that had been ripped right out of the wall, knock the pieces of destroyed drywall off the screws and place it right back into the holes the lock had been ripped out of. TALK ABOUT SECURE FOLKS, if it wasn't such a poor and sad attempt it could be funny. Keep your day job Mr. Banks, handy man is not in your future. I would comment on the rest of the staff, but outside of the day the sheriff was there doing the investigation, I have never once seen a staff member on site. Calling the number provided always was forwarded to another of the Gainesville locations, and if you managed to get someone of the phone the answer to any questions I had was they could only be answered by Mr. Banks, who I suppose was to busy to ever return any of the messages I left for him in the duration of our rental. I sincerely hope this review keeps anyone else from the misfortune of doing buisness with you and your company, I for one never will again.

Previous user was a smoker!!!! Cab smelled. 7mpg is beyond terrible! Forced into using app to checking/out is useless with poor cell service! Never again....

This place is a disaster-NO ONE WORKING to help you despite hours posted on door showing they are open. Truck assigned had a completely bald tire which was unsafe to use- you cannot safely haul goods in a truck that is not properly maintained.

Been here since before it was Uhaul. Convenient and has all services you would need for using a storage unit and for moving. Has a lot of air conditioning units. My only complaint is the frequent price increases lately. My unit used to be 65.00 a month, it's now up to 102.00. Too much unfortunately for the not very big unit.

Most U haul equipment and variety around. I even purchased a box to move my 85 inch TV. The representatives are very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended for moving a couch or entire home. I purchased a couch and brought it home the same day.

No one is ever available to assist. My daughter rented a unit for one month and a move out was processed prior to the end date. They still attempted to charge for another month and late fees. Emails and calls are ignored. Not to mention the place is a dump.

we hadn’t even drove off the lot & the engine light was on, after we pointed it out to them they told us ‘it’d be fine bc it was looked at the day before’. No joke, 6 minutes later the truck stalls at an intersection and does not accelerate & we’re left stranded after slowly pulling into a gas station. Then we call u-haul roadside assistance (after being on hold for 45 minutes), the guy didn’t show up until an hour and a half later. Customer service even told us we’d be charged an ‘abandonment fee’ if we left the keys at the uhaul & left the truck. how is u-haul giving us this broken truck our problem & now we’re left waiting around this broken truck wasting our time & entire day? then, the cherry on top is having to drive the death machine back to the u-haul location. That sounds like something that should be u-haul’s job after renting someone a messed up truck with an engine light on. them charging an abandonment fee is laughable. wish we could charge u-haul an abandonment fee for giving us a truck that did not work & letting people try to drive it. This location is asking for a lawsuit. Maintenance worker said it has happened to the uhaul trucks multiple times & left multiple people stranded.

Stored my stuff here for one month. Upon move in the office was empty and others had come for trucks as well to find out they’re closed and you have to go to a different office. The facility had carts on move in. On move out we had no access to the building and called the main office for a very rude employee to tell me I wouldn’t get access til the next day because the doors broke. I told him I needed to get in today to start my move and he told me no. The sign on the door says 24/7 and I signed a contract to have access to my stuff. After enough phone calls we finally got the managers number and called them 4-5 times before we got an answer. They said all managers were out of town but one can be there in 30 to let us in. After an hour and a half of waiting from the time we first got there we finally got access all to find the facility filled with cockroaches and wasps. If that wasn’t enough there were no carts to be found so we had to carry everything through the long hallways to get it to the truck. Stay away from this place! It’s not worth the deals uhaul offers.

I'm not a college kid, I'm a 70 year old woman who has used self-storage many times before, and this is the absolute worst experience I've ever had.Not pleased at all from day one. They didn't have a downstairs unit, so we got an upstairs unit that was unfinished and had no light in it. It was supposed to be climate controlled, but there is a covering over the top that keeps the heat/air from getting into the unit and makes it very dark. We had to buy a battery-operated light just to be able to see in there. Roaches are crawling all over the place, in and out of every unit. I had to put down roach traps everywhere so they didn't get into my boxes, but they did anyway, and then I carried them into my apartment and had to treat there.The worst part was that I could not get into my unit because the keypad on the building door wasn't working and the door handle looked like it was falling off. The gate code did not sign me into the unit, so he told me I had to sign into the building on TWO keypads to get in. I'm only there for 4 more days, so I hope I can get in today, because there is no one to call if I can't, as the office is closed on Sundays.I rented from this location many years ago when it was Penske under different ownership and it was great. I will never rent from them again. Overpriced and definitely not run well.

Did not honor our truck reservation the day before our move. Storage unit entry constantly broken and unable to enter. Rude, dirty, and in kept. Please do yourself a favor and don't do business with them. Go to anywhere else in town. Incredibly rude informed us it's not their fault the truck we reserved was no longer available.

There's no maintenance or responding staff on site to help you, despite there being an actual office there that they could utilize. I got stuck on the property because there was no power to the gate to let me out. Had to call the uhaul 6 miles away (phones were never answered). 45 mins later a custodial person happened to see me and let me out a side gate. This was my day one experience, definitely not worth the price.
