Visited with my dog that had gastrointestinal issues. All staff was very welcoming, caring, quick. I had 0 issues, prices are discussed with pet owners at all times. I had to call them for lab results days later and the service continued to be amazing. Vet continued to answer questions and give advise even over the phone. Thank you!!

I asked for a CT scan for my dog, as she had all the checkups and bloodwork possible, but I was told they cannot do that without a check up. I was willing to take off work, drive 2hrs each way, to see the vet what is usually a 5 mins look at my dog - they never find anything wrong - and pay $270 on top of the $900-$1,200 for a CT scan, because a CT scan is literally the only thing left to do for my dog. They told me that they cannot do that in 1 day and I would have to see the vet, pay the visit, THEN they will schedule the CT scan for another day. So I have to drive 4 hours twice and miss 2 days of work just because they want more money and they don't care how I come up with them. I didn't get the feeling they care about animals at all.

Had a few doggos that have had to go there. Always tell you what is going on. Great communication and some of the leaders in their field of some specialties. 4 hour drive but worth it.

My dog experienced an adverse drug reaction from a vaccine. He was stabilized at the vet’s office and transported to UF Vet Hospital. So far we have been waiting 3 hours to even hear an update on my dog. Everytime I ask, I’m continuously told that the doctor is in another exam. So not only has this been a traumatic experience, the staff here have done nothing to assure me on the status or treatment plan for my dog. This leads me to a lack of faith in the care that my dog is receiving and I have grave concerns leaving him for the care I was led to believe he needed. I will definitely not be returning to this establishment. This is poor service from a vet hospital with the UF name on it. Do better with your customer service and communication of treatment.

I knew bringing our dog to Gainesville could be a possible worsening of her condition, but our daughter wasn’t going to spend Christmas alone. Sophie did get much worse, and we had to make the decision to put her down. I wish I could remember and thank everyone, but we were really upset. Dr. Edwards was so kind as were all the staff. We had as much time as we needed in the Quiet Room before we signaled for the doctor by turning on the light. It was NOT a happy Christmas Eve , but I was so afraid Sophie would get even worse. God bless everyone at the center for dealing with our hysteria. You were all kind and professional. Dr. Edwards told us she’d never seen people regret moving too quickly on euthanasia but she’d seen many regret waiting too long. We appreciate you all! I hope I got the right name on our empathetic vet- if not, you know who you are! Thank you all!

I just want to say how very pleased we were with the service and care at UF Gainsville. Our New years started off horrible with our 6 yo Doxie having to have emergency surgery for IVDD. The surgery would only give him a 50/50 chance for regaining any function but we decided to give him that chance. The staff -doctors and ancillary were beyond excellent!! And although we didn't get the outcome we had prayed for we were treated so compassionately. I feel the surgeons were very up front and listened to our hearts and also helped us to make the right choice to euthanize our beloved pup. They went beyond, what I could have ever expected, with their caring and guidance. i am and have been a RN for 40 years and feel we were cared for better than most human doctors would do at such a horrible time. I want to say thank you for making our loss a bit easier. We just received our Lil Franklin's remains today and I finally feel I can take a deep breath as he is now with us at home in NY. A special thank you TO DRs Sharma And Marcos for the care you gave all of us!!!

Zero stars! Cold as ice staff! No compassion! No communication! Just awful! I'll never bring a stray injured animal to that facility because "strays" don't stand a chance!

This place is trash, totally unorganized and in my opinion completely incompetent. They banned my mom because she raised her voice at them because of the excessive wait times for an emergency appointment and sent her 2 letters in the mail telling her she wasn't welcome back, although she wouldn't go back even if they paid her. Worst in customer service and a terrible reflection on the university, this place should be investigated for malfeasance.

Understaffed or overworked. The medical care was adequate but minimal. Took 5 hours to be discharged with pain meds. Didn’t bother me until they brought out the wrong dog for discharge. And then having to overhear them calling around for their own staff because they can’t find my dog? I’m just glad this wasn’t life or death.

Thank you to the Surgeon and those involved in our baby blue & gold macaw (2 months) Endoscopy Surgery. Everything went smoothly and he's back to being his normal usual self. ( I'm giving a 4 star because of the lack of communication with the front desk/doctors. We had to ask about 3 times just to speak to someone after it being over 2 hours and us being worried of not hearing or having them telling us what was going on. )

I'm not even sure where to begin!! I remember taking my dog to UF years ago and the wonderful care he received just before his passing. For years I was unable to get another pet up until recently. This is my first time ever owning a cat, let alone a kitten this small, and to say we experienced a TRADGEDY last Sunday is an understatement! Thanks to the help of a dear friend, I immediately rushed my sweet baby to UF's Vet's ER where I quite literally handed over to them a life-less kitten and I couldn't do anything but cry and pray for the best. The team got straight to work on my kitten giving "her" all the care and attention she needed. I was informed "she" had suffered a traumatic brain injury. I was given all of my options and of course I opted for anything that would say "her" life. (I say "her" because we later found out that our "she" is a he. lol) Long story short, my baby boy was in ICU for 3 days, received excellent round-the-clock care, I was updated on his progress throughout the day everyday he was there and was greeted was with a happy, healthy, LIVING kitten 3 days later when I picked him up! It was an experience that had to be lived to be fully understood! The UF Vet team brought my kitten back to life! They treated us with exceptional care from start to finish! It's not even about the money, it was about the CARE! I cannot stress that enough. Seeing the happiness in my girl's face has no price. Thank you UF Vet team, THANK YOU Dr. Hedges!! You all are amazing!!

We have taken multiple pets here for the past 15 years and have been very pleased and grateful for the care given to our fur babies. We live in Orlando and have a local vet here that we love, but whenever something major is going on we always make the drive to UF Vet Hospital. The care and professionalism is exceptional and the doctors are top notch. They literally have saved some of our pets' lives, and their prices have always been lower than what we were quoted locally. Highly recommend!

I took my brother's dog back in May 2023 for an emergency, he was dx' with an enlarged heart, hole in his heart and other cardiac issues. The staff and vet were phenomenal in their care, compassion and yes even discussing the financial part. The vet stated that dogs with this condition usually only have 6-12 months. He to this day, Nov 2, is still going strong!! They nailed his medications, I feel that is what is really working so well for him. He's a 7yr Aust. Cattle dog and is very "high strung", this condition has not slowed him down much, he does fatigue easier but he's still going strong. I have read a lot of these 1-star reviews and feel like a lot of them may be fake, I could be wrong but there are some that are very similar in context. My best friend just took her basically dead kitten there this past weekend and left with him alive! I still, as a UF employee highly recommend this facility.
