My sister and I went here a little over a week ago, and I just keep thinking about the awful experience. I’ve been coming here since they opened, in all their locations, and have always loved the clothes selection. They’ve gotten worse lately about being open when the hours say they’ll be open, but I always tried to give them the benefit of the doubt since COVID was hard on businesses and for the last few years it seems like it’s only the owner working now not other staff. However, the last time we went here we had the same experience many other reviews mentioned. We walked in and it was more than two hours before they closed on a Saturday. The owner was at the front talking to someone, and no one else was in the store, which is pretty typical anymore. As we started looking around she asked us if we were looking for something in particular, and we told her we were just browsing. Literally only a few minutes later as we moved farther into the store she again asked us what we were looking for, and then informed us that she would be closing early today, and we asked if she’d like us to go. She said well I’m not closing just yet so okay you can look around. It got uncomfortable and felt like she was watching us but we went ahead and tried to quickly look at just a couple of areas. Within a few more minutes she interrupted us again and while still sitting behind the register with her friend leaning on the counter told us she was straightening up the store to close, and we needed to leave. Honestly the whole experience was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever felt in any retail store, and it was obvious to us later that since we didn’t give her an exact answer to what we were looking for she wanted us out. I’ve spent a lot of money here over the years, but I won’t ever be coming back. After reading other reviews I think she determines if you can stay based on how you answer the question “are you looking for something in particular?” I imagine like us, most people may not have highly specific pieces in mind when they shop for clothes, but come in ready to find items that they like and will buy, so this is the most nonsensical bizarre criteria I’ve ever experienced. Just be aware if you go that you may get the nice helpful owner or you might get kicked out, if you even manage to catch it during open hours at all.

This store is a must visit anytime I’m in Gainesville. I haven’t been in town since 2016 and the bad reviews almost scared me away and what a mistake that would have been.The store owner was so sweet and willing to help. If you like Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Madewell, J Crew you HAVE to come here for the good deals!

Went to this store for the first time in a very long time. I used to come here years ago and remember the employees being very nice and always finding really cute clothes here. However, as soon as I walked in the owner? asked me what I was looking for. I informed her that I was just browsing. She mentioned there haven’t been many people coming in the store lately. After about five minutes she asked me again, saying there must be something you’re looking for. I again told her I was just looking. She followed me around the store and was organizing the hangers after I had touched them. Then, after me being in the store for a total of 10 minutes, she tells me oh I’m closing in a few minutes. (Store was listed to be open for 3 more hours) I told her okay…and continued looking. She again told me she was closing early and I just said okay and left. Was a very tense and awkward energy the whole time I was in the store. And she wonders why the store is empty?! Will never be back! Very unfortunate because I was wanting to purchase some cute clothes.

Their business hours say Tuesday-Saturday 11am-6pm. I came at 11:16am and no one was there. They just lost a potential customer for being unreliable, and wasted my time.

My girlfriend and I were in the store for less than 3 minutes before the woman at the counter was extremely rude to the both of us. She also told us "Like you saw on the door there are no drinks allowed" however not only was there no signage on the door but no where else as well. We promptly left. No wonder it was empty.

Gorgeous dresses and clothes. God awful costumer service. Employee watch me like a hawk and then asked me to put a dress back in instead of doing it herself. She then asked sassily if I saw the sign on the door saying no drinks. There was no sign I checked after. I loved this place before, I don’t know if I will be coming back.

Drove 30+ min out of the way to visit during stated opened hours for it to be closed. Tried to give this place a second chance after being harassed by the owner during previous visits for “browsing”. Unfortunately, despite efforts supporting locally isn’t an option.

Is this still a functioning business?? I’ve tried coming here FOUR times now with the posted hours and it’s always closed. Seems fully stocked but is never open. Reading the reviews about the pestering staff and bad hours- it’s not looking good to stop by and support this business. Bummer. Used to be a cool place to shop downtown for gifts or a cute outfit.

The cutest clothes ever l, but they are never open when I go store hours are 11-6 Monday-Friday, but apparently not actually open during those times

Lady behind the desk wouldn't leave me alone to just look, it was SO ANNOYING. I remember when this place just had chill / hip employees. How does it even stay in business anymore? Probably a ML front.

My favorite store of all time. My sister, mom, and I have been shopping here for at least the last...15 years? I always make a point to come by and shop when I'm in town. Lilly has always had a great eye for fashion and picks unique stuff for the store. 80% of my wardrobe is probably from Urban Thread. Also - best shoe selection ever. Love love love this store.

Since moving back to Gainesville, I’ve come here every time I’ve needed a dress for a special occasion and have never been disappointed. I’ve purchased four beautiful dresses, including one for my rehearsal dinner, and several pairs of shoes. The prices for the dresses were very reasonable for the brands they sell. Also, the owner has always been super helpful in picking which dress was best for me and where I could go to get alterations.

I cannot comment about the clothes because, the lady at the counter created a very hostile environment. She was very unwelcoming and nosy. Point blank asked what we were doing in the store, to which I responded just looking. She did not like our response and continued pushing for a better answer, saying we must be looking for something specific if we were out on such a cold day. It’s truly unfortunate that she ended up being like the other comments. I guess she owns the lot, since her customer service skills will not be bringing in revenue.
