“Rented a kayak from the Gibsonton "General Store & Market" for a paddle down Bullfrog Creek. Fantastic customer service! Friendly. Helpful. Had a nice paddle into the Bay, explored various branches off the creek, mangroves, and saw plenty of Florida nature. At one point, we got "lost" on our way back and the owner, Shawn (Sean), a phone call away, was willing to help navigate back (it was our fault - should have paid closer attention to our route - but we found our way). It was a nice day to be "lost" (full sun, 73 degrees)! Highly recommend the General Store & Market for your next Kayak rental. We will use them again soon!”

Some context is that we had just endured a grueling 24 hr U-haul ride (meant to be 16 hrs) The U-haul was completely full, in the back and in the cabin, cramped with 2 cats, 2 adults, & also towing a car. We were not being able to get into my apt on the move-in day because the lease consultant said she would not stay a minute past 4, so we had to find a hotel during one of the busiest weekends in Tampa. Not fun to hear after you just pulled a few all-nighters, moving 6 large states away, and uprooting your whole life. We finally found one but then had to rush to get into the apt the very next day because the apt worker said they would not stay past 1:30.

Well we barely got to the apt in time but when we did, we got a wave into the parking lot from a U-Haul worker across the street. We pulled in and started to explain what had happened and the stress we had after pulling a few all-nighters and needing to return the truck the very next day to another location. Without hesitation, he offered us an extra day, even though we hadn’t asked directly, “oh you need an extra day? we got you”. He also made it possible for us to return the truck at that same location, so close to my apt building, without us directly doing any extra work or paperwork. He also pointed out a huge safety issue with the tow.

None of these things he had to do, let alone waving us into the parking lot. What was supposed to be a joyous occasion of moving to a brand new, beautiful city was turned into a nightmare before meeting Brent. His attitude and up beat attitude started to turn it all around. From the perspective of myself owning my own businesses, customer service, going the extra mile, and frankly just treating others like you want to be treated, you have a true A+ employee. I hope he gets the recognition and compensation he deserves because if he acts even half as well as he did on this day, on the daily, then he is invaluable and you should be immensely proud. Patrick at that location has also helped me a few times going above and beyond. Thank you Brent, Patrick, and U-haul!”

“I cannot believe the service I got here today came in to get a hitch put on and rent my trailer for my big move and Nicole who I spoke with yesterday was so on point and helpful made me feel like I was a vip at U-Haul while she was trying to find the best rate for me the general manager Mike came over and made sure I got what I needed for the best price!! Robert their tech went out his way to make sure my hitch was installed the right way and kept me updated the entire time he was working on it.
