“I come often with my family and have mixed feelings about this store. The women at the registers are always wonderful, and Vincent in the furniture department is especially helpful and friendly. The furniture selection is great and the guys in the back that bring it out are amazing. Really the whole team is top tier!
My only issue is that the home goods section has been frustrating to shop in for a while.It seems like the same group of resellers are there from open - close almost every day. They appear to get first access to the new carts as they’re brought out, often under the guise of helping the stocking associate, and you could easily mistake them for employees. As a regular customer, it feels like there’s very little chance of finding anything unique before it’s already been picked over because this group is consistently given first access.
One older gentleman in particular often acts as though he works there, sorting through merchandise, putting items away, and selecting what he wants as the carts come out. The one time I politely asked if I could look at an item on a new cart, I was told it wasn't allowed. Yet that rule didn’t seem to apply to the reseller who was already going through the merchandise. The appearance of unequal access to new inventory makes the experience feel unfair. Because of that, I am more regularly going to Goodwill... even though it’s unfortunately more expensive lol. It’s just frustrating to see the same 2-3 resellers there all day, every day, getting preferential access while other customers are told to wait. :/.”
“I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of Uptown Cheapskate until now! From the moment I walked in, everyone was so welcoming and genuinely kind. The store is absolutely beautiful, clean, and very well organized.
What stood out to me the most was how friendly and helpful the staff was. I’ve been to a few similar stores nearby, and unfortunately they weren’t nearly as welcoming. The customer service here made all the difference and made me actually enjoy shopping.
I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend stopping in if you haven’t been yet!”

“This place is amazing. You can see when you walk in how the community really rallies around it by the donations that are in there. There are things for people and for pets. I have been able to donate and purchase over the years. I recently got a new puppy and donated some stuff from my 16 year old who passed and got some puppy stuff. The place is immaculate and the staff is always welcoming and happy to assist you in literally every way including sharing knowledge and showing you items that you may like. I was there today and met Mike for the first time. Fortunately, I was the only one there and I was able to have his undivided attention. I went for one thing and literally walked out seven amazing finds. He was so helpful sharing his experience with his puppy letting me know what things would help. If you have anything to donate especially for pets, please head on over and support this wonderful cause.”
“I like this thrift store. They are on the smaller side but they have alot of variety inside. I make it a point to shop here regularly. The ladies who work there have been nice to me.”

“Don’t be in a hurry when you come here—there’s a lot to look through. From clothing and kitchenware to nicknacks and more, items are organized on shelves, clothing racks, and in bins under the racks. Prices are cheaper than Goodwill, and if you’re open to a little conversation, the employees are friendly, which makes the experience even better. I was so occupied with finding that one treasure, forgot pictures. A store that brought back childhood memories of shopping with my Granny.”

“When I go in there, its usually for something specific so I do spend time looking. Have to admit, the prices are high on certain things. I found something that I know was sold at dollar tree but price was twice the amount. Then found things i wanted but had no tag so I was told they couldn't sell it. Few workers so line was forever. Not a good experience.”
“This is my favorite thrift store in the area. It's huge, has tons of clothes and knick knacks, the book section is wonderful, and they always have some type of deal running, which makes treasure hunting even more fun! I'm a regular there, I love it so much!”

“I like the different daily discounts. I wish someone would put price tags on the incoming furniture and appliances quicker. Yes, the prices on most furniture is not affordable for people living pay-check to pay-check, even with the everyday 50% off discount. The home decor is good sometimes. Cashiers are friendly and will try to assist everyone.”
