Room smelt like body odor. Could hear people in other room loud and clear. River view room overlooked parking lot. Staff was as rude as could be about it. Staff forgot or never learned what it means to be in the hospitality business. Don’t waste your money, time, patience. $$$$$

This hotel is partially being renovated which isn’t effecting my review. The beds were comfortable, however we were not given a king room we reserved but two queens. The people were all friendly. Unfortunately the breakfast bar that was provided with status was very poorly done. There was rotten berries both mornings. There was moldy cheese. The muffins were crushed. The oatmeal was thick and crusted over as were the scrambled eggs. The counters were filthy. We ended up eating some toast. Very unappealing and disappointing. I would have taken more photos but was uncomfortable doing so.

I went to visit my friend who flew in from Virginia. The hotel security wouldn't let me go up to see him. Even when I wanted to use the restroom while I waited for him to come downstairs I wasn't allowed to.

Hotel is completely renovated, including rooms. Bed and room furnishings are very comfortable and there are generously sized dressers for clothing storage.I appreciate the full-sized desk and large TV.I do wish though that the renovation has gone "all the way". They stopped short of replacing the tub with a modern walk-in shower. The wall tile & shower head seem not to have been touched. No ventilation in bathroom means a steamy room after a shower.Lastly, the electrical outlets and switches are yellowed, dirty, and feel original circa 1960s (a pet peve of mine)

Check in: they allow us to check in an hour early.Handicap room: I needed a handicapped room and instead of giving us one king bed, as requested, we got two queen, which was ok, but not very spacious if you have equipment (adult walkers or wheel chair).Restaurant (Julia's): Excellent service and delicious food.Internet: horrible. Did not work and was not given a discount or comp for it.Parking: I needed valet parking because of my disability. There is a parking garage, but it was not easy for me to walk the distance. Parking is not easily accessible. Sad they nickle and dime you for everything.Noise: noise throughout the night within the walls. I'm not sure what it was but had a knocking sound.... maybe water pipes?Pool: closed not sure when that will be ready for public use.

This is a gorgeous hotel, perfect for events. The service you receive is outstanding as the entire staff treats you as though you must be a of utmost importance. The room we had was very nice just a bit dated though. The location is perfect for a morning or afternoon stroll. There are lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. The view is stunning as you are right on the river. The restaurant on the 1st floor is also appealing. The complimentary breakfast consists of the typical pork bacon/sausage, grits, eggs and potatoes.Definitely a beautiful place to stay.

The hotel is standard Marriott. The surrounding area seems to be a bit run down with age. The rooms and staff meet my expectations. There is a restaurant and a bar. The menu is pricey for what you get. Example: 2 SW Egg rolls were $13.The wait staff was overwhelmed, one bartender and one waiter. Both nice folks but unable to keep up. Either I was there on a bad day or the restaurant manager does not do a good job.Safety: I would not walk the streets alone after dark.

Beware: Even after Booking a room for $200/night they do not provide free Internet. You have to pay extra for this.

The good: checking in went very well. My shower had the best water pressure in any hotel i've ever experienced, no less for a 10th floor. Wow.Semibad: dont bother bringing your firestick. They deactivated the use of the other HDMI ports by switching out the remotes to where you cant access TV SOURCE features. There is some built in streaming networks, however. Just remember to sign out on your own by "clearing credentials" in the TV settings before you leave. The front desk had no idea how to log out of their TV access to your streaming acct. Do it when you leave your room.Parking. If you dont anticipate using your car again for your stay, consider using the lot next door. Quick access to your car and $10 cheaper. The bad: lots of outdated notions for a hotel in the middle of downtown. And it's sad. The rooms need to be drastically updated with lamps that have usb ports (that work). One side of the king bed had zero access to any wall or usb outlet but for the one i ended up using by a window with my own power strip extension chord (i always bring one- just in case). The bathrooms, oh my. I have not seen a state of the bathrooms like that in a hotel since the 1990s. Outdated tiles, badly (re)caulked along the tub , dirty, moldy grout (bleach takes care of that) . I almost thought i wasn't at a Marriot. The wall magnifying mirror, which i use, did not work. The outlet is fine. The ugly:The bed, while clean, was a massive cloud of zero support. It was just mush. It was worse than the side of the road motel in Stuart. You sank and it was hard to get out. The very soft, fluffly pillows w/ no support also did not help. I had to fight my husband for the hill in the center of the bed.

Hotel is the best place to stay if you are going to see a show at the Jacksonville Performing Arts Center. Directly across the street. The hotel is fully furnished with all the amenities you would need during your stay. Very close to a variety of restaurants and businesses. Rooms were clean. Beds were comfortable. Staff was pleasant. This is my go to Hotel when visiting downtown Jacksonville.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at this hotel in Jacksonville for a two-day event, and overall, it was a great experience. The hotel's central location was incredibly convenient for my event, and I appreciated how well-kept and organized the property was. The staff members were friendly and accommodating, adding to the pleasant atmosphere. One highlight of my stay was the delicious breakfast that was served each morning - it definitely exceeded my expectations. However, the only downside was that I did not receive a printed invoice during check-out, and I have yet to receive it electronically. As a result, I had to deduct one star from my rating. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this hotel to others based on its cleanliness, friendliness, and tasty breakfast options.

Rooms were kinda dusty gross. Valet opened a window on my car, and it rained, so my car was soaked on the passenger side. Photos show disgusting dust behind outlet and all over walls. Unless they are just hairy.
