Cute poolside bar with good drinks was a bonus too. Pool was the perfect temperature and entire facility was well kept and clean!”

“This place deserves all of its 5 stars. The rooms were comfortable and had several small touches that made it so worth it - all the lights were on dimmers and there were a variety of lamps, overheads, and bedside lights. The hotel was within walking distance to everything but not noisy at all. The loungers at the pool were outfitted with towels every day. The continental breakfast was delicious - and no extra charge. What made it for me was daily housekeeping. A lot of places have gone away from that since Covid and I really appreciate coming home after a long day sightseeing and eating and drinking to a fresh room. The only critique I have is that the hotel could invest in a pool chiller. We have one at home and it really helps with the pool temperature in the heat of the summer! That pool had to be pushing 100° which wasn’t the most refreshing when it’s already sweltering outside. That’s literally my only complaint…”

“We had a wonderful stay here. If you are looking for good accommodations close to Duval St at a fraction of the cost, this is the place to be. The daily free breakfast was also a plus. The property was keep clean and the staff were great, especially Will and Stacey Ann. Highly recommend!”

“My husband and I stayed at the Marquesa for a friend's wedding. The location was perfect - so close to walk pretty much anywhere which was really nice. The staff was SO friendly and kind, and were very helpful during our stay. Our room was beautiful, spacious and clean. The pools were lovely and the deck area was clean and the environment was calm. Absolutely would recommend staying at the Marquesa and we would definitely come back again!”

“Goal was to find a place two separate bedrooms conjoined. This Capitana key west was ideally situated with all the amenities. We enjoyed the private deck, pools (with fountains, bar, night lighting, and view), and innovative access wristlets. The front desk and additional staff were very professional and nice. “We recently had the pleasure of staying at Mansion on the Sea for our wedding weekend, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The property itself is absolutely stunning—perched right on the water with breathtaking ocean views that make you feel like you’re in paradise. “We were there 09-29 to 10-5 for our anniversary. It's been quite a while since our last visit and noticed some changes. Had an awesome stay! Our room, 28B, was the only disappointment. Horribly uncomfortable bed and very hot in the room due to the sky light and bathroom windows. Needed to put towels over the windows to try to further block the heat and keep the AC at 61. It was quiet except for the occasional noise from the hotel next door. Sadly, this is our last stay at Equator as there is ownership changes coming in January. We'll be back in 2025 and hoping the Bishop carries on the wonderful traditions of Equator Resort.

Rooms: Room 28B was the only disappointment. Horribly uncomfortable bed and very hot in the room due to the sky light and bathroom windows. Needed to put towels over the windows to try to further block the heat and keep the AC at 61.

Nearby activities: Unless you want or need to go to New Town you have everything you need in Old Town. Plenty of maps and guides are available as well as information for cruises and water adventures.

Safety: All doors are coded with the last 4 digits of your phone number. Walking back to the hotel at dark we never encountered a problem. That said, always be on your guard!

Walkability: Before you go get a good pair of walking shoes. Once you park the car it stays put! Take time and stroll throughout the island.”

Incredible Stay

The Truman Hotel is a hidden gem in Key West, but what really made our experience unforgettable was Beka, the host. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Friendly, professional, and full of great local tips — Beka is truly the heart of this place.

The hotel itself is gorgeous: clean, modern rooms, a relaxing pool area with a tropical vibe, and a great location just a few minutes’ walk from Duval Street. It’s the perfect mix of peaceful and central.

If you’re lucky enough to be helped by Beka, you’re in the best hands. He’s the kind of host who makes you want to come back — and we definitely will!”

“Wonderful, small, silent hotel with 12 rooms and a pool in the center. Enough parking lots available at the hotel otherwise free parking in the roads around. A good conclusion to the beaches and Duval Street. The staff is very friendly and helpfulI. I will return definitely and recomend it to my friends and family.”

“We stayed here for two nights on our trip to Key West and I have not ONE negative thing about the place. The rooms were clean and perfectly sized (we had a king suite for two). Two pools with one heated and despite all the guests using them they were never crazy busy or crowded. All the rooms are very close to both pools and breakfast. Served a light breakfast everyday which is perfect with how expensive everything is. All in all very pleased and we will absolutely be back!”

“We stayed in a studio. It was perfect! The room was spotless, the sheets soft and the bed was very comfortable. It’s set up very private and secure. They have a beautiful pool, ice machine and filtered water so just bring your refillable bottle. The innkeepers are responsive and friendly. They have bikes on site but the location is perfect. We had no problem with parking right out front of the inn. Everything is within walking distance so no need for a rental. We will definitely be back.”

“A slice of paradise in old town Key West. Close to everything but quiet and tranquil with beautiful tropical gardens, 2 pools, tiki bar, majestic banyan trees, palm trees. My perfect escape each year.”

“Beautiful resort. Very friendly staff. We stayed for seven days. House keeping kept our room well supplied and refreshed. Felt safe inside resort. Pools are very clean and warm. Plenty of outdoor seating. Restaurant on site is great. Love the amenities. We did a guided mangrove kayak tour with Liz, Felix and Anela and absolutely loved it. They were very informative about local wildlife and vegetation. Highly recommended doing this adventure.”

“Solange was very professional and understanding of the situation I was in when booking the place. She made the stay that much more enjoyable. We stayed in room 6. The bathroom
was designed a bit oddly as there was some sort of bath waterspout that you couldn't even use, and your feet would hit it when showering. The overhead shower seemed to be on the wrong wall in the shower. It was very uncomfortable to take a shower. The stairs going down to the hot tub area could've used a better hand railing. Everything was very clean. My only real request would be to add a small table with 2 chairs to each room to make it complete. Breakfast could have used a protein like sausage or bacon. Other than blueberry yogurt and boiled eggs, it was all bread, bagels and muffins. Staff should definitely make it very clear that you should drop off your luggage when checking in, so that you don't have to drag it 4-5 blocks down Duval and back to your room. I still give it a 4-star rating, because Solange truly was the most kind and professional person I've experienced in a long time. Give her a raise immediately.”

“Our family of 5 had an amazing stay at this Marriott property! Starting with our arrival, we waited a short time because our room wasn't ready. Mary Ann checked us in, took a beautiful family picture under the balloon arch, gave us a room upgrade and breakfast voucher because we had to wait. Tom at the concierge desk was also very helpful with restaurant and activity recommendations. The entire staff from housekeeping to the groundskeepers to the pool staff were all very friendly and professional. Our room was exceptionally clean, spacious and quiet. We had a balcony and saw some iguanas hanging out on the terracotta roof tiles. We loved this location because it's close enough to downtown Key West like a 10 minute drive, but far enough to avoid the crowds and noise. There is a Starbucks in the lobby with very friendly and efficient staff. It's also close to Publix grocery store, CVS, Beall's and other local stores. We'll definitely stay here again on our next trip to Key West!”

Guest rooms, public restrooms, and relaxation areas were spotless and well maintained, reflecting strong housekeeping standards and attention to detail. The public facilities felt cared for and inviting, which made moving around the property a comfortable experience. I particularly appreciated the dedicated adults-only area. Its thoughtful separation and design offered a tranquil retreat for relaxation and enhanced the hotel’s appeal for guests seeking a quieter environment. During our stay the poolside bar service fell short of the otherwise positive experience. When I asked for an extra plate, the staff fulfilled the request but did so without a friendly or attentive demeanor. The interaction felt curt and lacked the positive engagement one expects in a hospitality setting. This small issue stood out because everything else at the hotel was well run and welcoming. A bit more training or encouragement toward warm, proactive service at the pool bar would easily elevate the guest experience and ensure consistency across all hotel outlets.”
