“Everything you wanted needed and you didn't know you wanted or needed. Amazing customer service from the top manager to assistant manager and everyone working helped me find items omg I even was allowed to use restroom so clean so organized great soap for washing up. “I usually go to family Dollar two three times a week it's right down from my house their prices are comparable their stores clean the employees are friendly and knowledgeable about their product and quite helpful they have clearance items down the center aisle and you can find everything there from vitamin B12 to hair dye and even rodent poison. but it's as it was with any place you have to look for a deal they also have home decor anything from curtains to shelves and end tables they have arts and crafts, tools, dog, food, milk bread they have some of everything the only thing they don't carry p is butane fuel I don't blame them, if you ever seen a can of that explode you would know why I say that so it's a safety thing for the customer and the employee that's better suited to a smoke shop or hardware store I guess they got the license and the insurance for it butane can be some nasty stuff okay I do ramble on y'all have a great day and thank you for readi.ng my post may you be blessed eternally with health, safety and peace.”

“This location has been recently taken over by a new Manager, Jen, she was super busy and still stopped to smile and assist me, introducing herself and walking me to the item I was looking for. The aisles were clean and clutter free. The shelves were fully stocked and well organized. I came for potting soil and left with $200 of essential items because it was so presentable and easy to see everything I found more than I expected. All is good! Will be back. Thank you Jen!”
“That’s I look terrible, but surprisingly the inside was quite neatly and well kept in the cashier Joey. I believe his name was. He is really cool stand-up guy I know working in those jobs should be kind of tedious, but you had a good attitude good spirit. It was good. Glad to get to know and talk to wishing the best of luck, he deserve a raise!”

We wanted to share your kindness and compassion, which the world ? could use more of. Kuddos to you, and to Dollar General for a diamond ? in the rough. Our day is brighter because of your kindness and care.”

Burlington Stores is giving its locations a major makeover. The off-price retailer has already transformed about half of its 1,115 stores and plans to complete the redesign across its entire fleet by the end of 2026. The company calls this makeover "Store Experience 2.0." Gone are the cramped aisles and confusing layouts that once defined discount shopping. Instead, Burlington is creating wider walkways, organized sections, and clearer signs to help shoppers find what they need.
Dollar General is adding more of its private label food offerings to stores, following similar moves by big retailers like Walmart and Amazon as store brands keep growing in popularity. The store is launching new items under its own labels, including ice cream, cinnamon rolls, coffee syrups, and salad dressings. The move comes as store brand sales reached $271 billion in 2024, up nearly 4% from 2023.
Daiso, the beloved Japanese retailer known for its variety of affordable household goods, is expanding further in the U.S. market. This week, the company is celebrating the grand openings of three new stores in Texas and California. On Saturday, Aug. 10, Daiso debuted an 8,000-sq.-ft. location in Beaumont, Texas, at Dowlen Towne Center, as well as two Southern California stores - a 6,319-sq.-ft. space in Van Nuys at Mid Valley Marketplace and a 5,200-sq.-ft. store in Westminster at Westminster Center.
Dollar Tree is moving into 170 former 99 Cents Only stores, marking a big shift in the discount retail landscape. The company announced Wednesday it's taking over leases in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas, with plans to reopen the stores under its own brand as early as fall 2024.
Ollie's Bargain Outlet just landed a great deal of its own, winning a $14.6 million bankruptcy auction for 11 former 99 Cents Only store locations across Texas. The discount retail chain pounced after 99 Cents Only abruptly went out of business in March, shuttering all 371 of its stores in California, Arizona, Texas, and Nevada. Ollie's quickly made an opening "stalking horse bid" to grab over a dozen of the empty properties.
