Tropical Cottages in Marathon offers a unique and rustic Florida Keys experience with individual, character-filled cabins. The setting is nice with a convenient on-site Tiki Hut Bar and a delicious food truck, and the staff is friendly. The atmosphere is generally peaceful and laid-back, and the property is pet-friendly. The rooms are often described as clean, comfortable, beautiful, and decent for the price, with effective air conditioning, hot showers, and working wifi. However, there are notable drawbacks. The advertised amenities can be misleading; the kitchen area typically only includes a microwave and a toaster oven, lacking a full stove and sometimes clean dishes or supplies. Noise can be an issue due to a lack of insulation, allowing sound from adjacent rooms, as well as early morning roosters, grounds maintenance, and overhead planes from the nearby airport. Some cabins have bathrooms located outdoors, which may not be fully covered from rain and can have poor drainage. Other concerns include occasional water shut-offs without notice, the need to request items like a hair dryer from the bar, and a strong smell of cleaning solution in some units. Despite these points, many guests find it a gem for a unique stay and would return, considering it one of the better places in the Keys.

Good place for the price & compared to everythingelse. Decent "room/cottage," self contained, only drawback were the roosters at 4am & the grounds folks with leaf blowers at 7am.

Had a wonderful stay . Bed nice and comfy. The food truck/tiki bar very convenient. The bartender Andrew told us abound the 2conchs sandbar boat ride,.it was GREAT fun!.
