Honest John's Fish Camp offers a peaceful and authentic slice of Old Florida along the river. Visitors often enjoy quiet, boat-free moments with pods of dolphins swimming nearby and a variety of birds like pelicans, herons, cormorants, and egrets all around. The family-run marina, with multiple generations involved, is known for its friendly and knowledgeable staff, making it a welcoming spot for boaters and visitors alike. It is considered the best place on the river in the county, with many customers storing boats there for over 20 years. The marina provides great customer service, including offering fresh shrimp on short notice, which enhances fishing trips. It also serves as a safe and convenient place to store boats and trailers, with staff providing helpful directions and local recommendations. Visitors appreciate the helpfulness of the team, especially when arranging boat tours or trips to nearby islands. Although the area is not fancy, it’s praised for its helpfulness, great prices, and natural beauty. Some suggestions include adding a separate kayak launch for safer launching. Overall, Honest John's Fish Camp is a friendly, scenic, and trusted location for boating, fishing, and enjoying Florida’s natural surroundings.
Probably the coolest place we've ever been! Super nice people with that old Florida aesthetic. Awesome rentals too.

Womderful! Spent a couple hours this afternoon with pods of dophins swimming alongside and pelicans, cormorants, anhingas, heron, and egret all around. No boats, beautfully quiet. I almost don’t want to leave a great review so it isn’t well discovered. We’ll return at least weekly.
