THINK TWICE BEFORE SUPPORTING THIS BUSINESS! I recently visited this .99 store with the intention of finding some razors. I was profiled and discriminated against.
The store was cluttered and disorganized, with old dust filled items scattered around, making it difficult to find what I was looking for. My original mission was for razors, which were nowhere near the shaving cream. I continued down the aisle and was intrigued by the candles at the very end. They had various meanings and some were labeled in Spanish, so I spent some time browsing and translating. After finding that the prices were much higher in-store compared to online, I decided not to purchase any candles.
When I went to the front to ask where I could find the razors, I was greeted with the uncomfortable comment, “You were back there for a long time and didn’t come back with anything,” from the man in the photo, followed by, “Well, I don’t see any candles in your hands,” after I mentioned I had been browsing them. This was not only rude but also felt discriminatory. I felt targeted and uncomfortable, especially since there was no indication that I was doing anything wrong. I wasn’t even carrying my purse, so the idea that I could have hidden something was absurd.
Why open a business in a predominantly Black neighborhood while discriminating against those very same people? Do better, please.
Given my experience, I would not recommend this store to anyone, particularly to Black shoppers. It was a horrific shopping trip.

I was attacked in this store by María, a Dominican who works there, she is Nick the owner's lover, I called the police to make a report and he deleted or edited the videos, this is when I see the injustice of this country, and the lies of This man, apparently this is not the first time that this lady Maria has done this, she is a sick psychopath, crazy, wanting to do harm, simply out of jealousy.

Store that is called 99 cents and almost nothing is worth that everything is more expensive, they should change the name not to deceive people, every time I arrive they do not have what I need, in addition their food is very expensive, bad experience, I do not recommend this place.

Love this place the owner is extremely helpful and friendly and you can find almost anything you can think of in here from a slushy to balloons for you last minute party to shower curtains and there is always someone to help you with what you need. Just be patient with the customer in this store they tend to be a little loud and problematic at times
