They oversell the car you reserved and then give you a cheaper model and claim there's nothing they can do since the reservation was made online. Looks like this is a standard practice at this location.

Posting this for people that don’t know if you’re paying with debit instead of credit, they do a credit check and if you don’t have a credit score above 645. I believe they won’t let you rent a car.
Sucks, but rules are rules I guess.

we had a terrible experience with this company. we wanted to rent a car to avoid having any car issues as our car wasn’t working, and it ended up being much more of a hassle. first, they gave us a car that was not clean and reeked of cigarette smells. then, when we were an hour away from miami, we noticed that of the tires were flat. we called roadside assistance and they said they didn’t have any spare tires and the avis that were nearby had no other replacement cars. we had to pay OUT of pocket since avis did not want to refund us at first. find a better rental company!

I recently rented a car from this Avis location and received exceptional service. Ms. Nelly exceeded my expectations, helping me find the perfect vehicle on short notice. Her outstanding customer service and friendly approach made the experience seamless. Although I've worked with her before at a nearby Budget location, she delivered the same high level of service at Avis.

This review is not just for this place that by the way was showing lack of empathy, AVIS messed up our reservation that was made trough BUDGET the guy there wasn't able to find our reservation he told us that BUDGET AND AVIS split responsibilities he is an employee, but AVIS or BUDGET or whatever don't advice us about that they require a credit card we was flying without credit cards and our reservation was made in a different city but not one advice us about this.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Our experience with the Avis Town and Country location was nothing short of a disaster. We reserved a car a month in advance for our trip, with a pick-up scheduled for 12:00 PM on December 29th. I even called two days before to confirm, and everything seemed fine. However, when we arrived at exactly 12:00 PM, the location was closed.
The man sitting behind the desk didn’t bother to open the door or explain anything—he simply gestured that they were closed and ignored us as we tried to communicate through the window. This level of disrespect and lack of customer service is appalling.
To make matters worse, every nearby location was also closed. We called the Avis at the airport, and they were out of cars. We ended up having to drive to Overtown in desperation to find a rental.
What would have been helpful? A call or email beforehand to notify us that the pick-up time coincided with their closing time. The entire situation was poorly handled and completely avoidable. This is not the level of service we expected or paid for. Avis, do better!

Rented a car here due to close proximity to the in-laws. The car we received stunk of cigarettes, had a trunk that wouldn't close and shook real bad at highway speeds. We filled the tank before returning and was still charged 45.08 for a supposed prepaid fuel that we didn't request. Now I have to waste my time proving the tank was full upon drop off with credit card receipts.

Horrible experience. Had reserved thru Costco a 5 seater SUV for months. Got a compact suv. They didn’t have the bigger suv so i was stuck. 5 grown people in a 4 seater SUV. Corolla cross is NOT a confortable 5 seater. Don’t rent this SUV. I was told i would get a one day credit. Never got it. Was told it would be applied on next time rental. Really ? I will never rent with Avis again. The only good thing about this place was that they do open at time.

I rented a car at the Kendall location The Palms at Town & Country, the service was very bad to begin with, a man named Leonardo, according to an employee of this company, the customer service operator is not attentive, he is rude, he makes you wait in line while the talk with other people nonsense laugh here laugh there without respecting that there were people in line, this man made us wait 2 hours and our reservation was at 3 in the afternoon, after we took the car 35 minutes later we realized that The car's license plate had expired since April and we wanted to return to this place and it was already closed, we called Avis and they told us that we could go to the airport so they could change our car when we got there. It was another disaster because they did not want to change the car, we had to complain and ask to speak to a manager, we lost 3 hours at the airport until finally, after a long discussion and waiting, a supervisor changed the car for us
If you value your time and your money, go somewhere else, we had to change 3 different cars in a 7-day trip, poor car maintenance, expired, smooth tires, expired license plate, we had an accident on the highway Because of one of the tires, when we inspected it we realized the poor condition of the rest of the tires. This was a bad experience and I honestly do not recommend this rental company at all.
