Do not rent here, as they have no car for rent at all. Just take a uber from cruise port to Miami airport and rent a car there. Should save you hours waiting on street

Came on a slow day ready to wait given prior reviews, but this was one of my best experiences at an Avis location! Super helpful more than most I’ve been to. As a top tier Avis member (I rent almost weekly) believe me when I say this team is good!

Do not rent from this location! I picked up my car and told the two employees that I had to return it before 6am the next day and asked if I could return it at the location closer to Brightline. The manager called the other location and verified that they do not accept after-hours drop-offs. I then said that I would bring it back to this location. The manager said that would be fine. At no time did either the manager or the employee on the computer state that they would not be there. I arrived the next morning to find that the lot was closed. I called every number on the door and nobody answered. Then two men came down from the apartment above the rental agency and one of them had an Avis polo on. I asked the Avis employee if he could help me and he told me that he is part of their fleet department and cannot accept returns. I asked if he could at least open the lot so that I could pull the car in. He told me that he didn't have the keys. How are you in fleet, at this location, and don't have gate keys? He then told me to park across the street at a commercial lot where Avis pays for a row of parking spaces for their box trucks. I parked next to an Avis truck, locked the doors, and took the keys with me to the train station. I tried to call this location more than 20 times and not once did anyone answer. I have been with Avis for years and can honestly say that this has been the worst rental experience of my life. How Avis allows this location to represent their brand is beyond me. So far, I am out at least an additional day's rental fees and the $30 I spent to overnight the keys.

If I could I would give 0 stars for this place,
If you are coming from cruise, please do not reverse from them, I got dupped because of their shuttle from cruise port to the rental facilities, and mentions a 20-30 mins wait when traffic is there. But even after waiting 1.5 hours there was not a single shuttle in sight. And if you try calling their facility it goes to automated message that keeps on repeating.
When you try to complain to customer service, it goes to their main office and they have no clue of what is going on in this location
When you complain to the manager, he says that there are 2 shuttles running, but even after staying in the rental facility, you don’t even see one coming back from port.
Another thing is that even if you have reserved for about way in advance of a time long before, when you reach the facility this is no vehicle available and have to wait for another 30-40 mins.
I repeat, do not reserve for a rental in this facility

Do not use this place. Just rent your car on Turo and deal with someone actually interested in making business with you. The people on the counter just hate their jobs and treat you like crap. Do not fall for this.

The staff was very nice and did the best they could considering the circumstances. The Avis counter was closed so everyone had to pile into the by small budget office and getting a car took over an hour. Initially, I was expecting to take a shuttle from the cruise ship terminal to the office but after a long wait I decided to take an Uber. The directions were not clear on where to go once you’re outside your cruise. Upon calling it gives a recording that makes it seem easier than it is.

The worst Avis location. The staff is rude and it’s a mess there is no organization.

Do not take this. We waited over 1.5 hours for the shuttle and gave up to take Uber. Got to the rental center and no fast pass ... 2 workers ... line out the door. We gave up here too and cancelled.
If you are coming in from a cruise, take a cab or Uber to the airport for rentals.
Update: I emailed in like they asked and basically got a sorry this is a remote site and we cannot do anything. Do not ask to respond if you do not want to take action.

We returned a vehicle to (what we thought) the closest rental car company to the port of Miami. Avis office was closed at 1:30 on Monday afternoon so all we could do was drop off the car in their car lot with a few employees in it. One employee was directing my friend (67year old) to park in this spot as she did. He continued (in broken English) directing her to move again and again, back and forth, loudly screaming with hand signals. My friend can't turn her head well due to multiple neck operations so she did the best she could and we exited the car. The employees started screaming and cursing at us and told us that now we can take a taxi instead of the free shuttle to the port. There was alot more nasty interactions that I will not go through here but when we walk around to the office to complain it was Closed in the middle of the afternoon on a Mon. Needless to say we started off our once in a lifetime 14 day transatlantic cruise being mistreated by Avis and terribly ripped off by a Miami cab driver that purposefullly went around the long way back to the port. It was a very scary and stressful experience being stuck in the mercy of these people in downtown Miami for 2 old ladies. Avis? Never again! Where was the free shuttle to the port they promised and in my 64 years I have never been treated so badly and cursed at. It wasn't our job to correctly park the car that's is the parking attendants job. Get it together AVIS

We would never rent from this Avis location again. The first vehicle had cracks in the windshield and dents everywhere. They promised shuttle service from the Miami port to their rental location but never showed up. When we called their location, a recorded message came up that they had shuttle service every 30 minutes.
We waited an hour to no avail and had to take a cab to pick up a car we had previously rented. When we arrived, we showed them our bill for the cab which they did not reimburse. Told us to call customer service which we did. Customer service said the individual locations had to reimburse us. Called corporate and they also refused to reimburse us. The cruise control and navigation didn’t work. Dents everywhere. Stay away from this location and this company. They also promised a supervisor would call back to discuss but never did. This is by far the worst rental agency we have ever rented from.

Avoid. Avis office itself was not even open, went into the Budget office next door as per the signs request. Pre booked specifically a convertible mustang/camaro from their website. Months in advance. Turned up to be told they have no convertibles at this location, despite allowing to book and pay for this. Advised that a Jeep was available instead and “part of the roof comes off so it’s like a convertible” whereas it’s a completely different type of vehicle to a Mustang or Camaro and not what we wanted. We reluctantly took it as had no other option, we were advised by the sales assistant that if we drove to the Avis at Miami airport, they would DEFINITELY have convertibles and be able to swap the vehicle for us. We decided to do this although ended up wasting approximately an hour more of our time, and fuel driving there. Only to be told by the Avis staff at the airport we should never have been told to come here as they cannot do this and also do not have any convertibles free as they are all booked out. Would not have paid the premium for a convertible if this was the case. Very disappointing overall service and will be making a formal complaint as did not receive the vehicle we pre booked.

Well the office is there!!! But with a sign on the door saying (go to Budget next door ) so not a great 1st impression- although I get that the companies and linked -bit of a wait but the guy was helpful and went quite smooth thereafter! Pick up lot is over the street (also my son hired a convertible which they didn’t have - although he pre-booked!! Said needed to go to the airport and switch it out if he wanted a convertible!! - they gave him a Jeep )
