Bandfield PET hospital. I am giving him this category because I brought my dog with pain today and it turns out that the receptionist tells me that I should make an appointment and that the soonest she can give me is in 3 days, I told her that he is in pain and not Do you care? I'm paying insurance with them where I pay 159 dollars a month. And today that I have an emergency, they didn't attend to me. I'm going to look for another hospital. Why can't I wait that long? Please, I need to do something against this hospital. Could someone tell me how to proceed. I feel scammed and also annoyed by the lack of attention for a service. that is already paid

I recommend this place very much. I got the pet insurance and is the most cost effective option for my dog health. The Doctor and the staff are very caring and professional ?

Very disappointed in the service at this location. Since 2020 (pandemic) they have only had the option for “drop-off”visits. Recently, I have noticed that I make an appt and my dog is basically there ALL day. Today, my dog had an “appointment” at 8 am for drop-off for a comprehensive exam/vaccines. I called at 3pm because I hadn’t heard from them and waited on hold for 15 minutes. I hung up and called back and was advised he was ready. When I arrive to pick him up, I noticed it was taking a little longer than usual for them to bring him. When they turn him into me I notice his whole back side is wet. One of the girls then tells me “oh yeah we cleaned him up” and so I asked if he peed himself. She said yes. I then asked “well did you take him out at all, he’s been here (now almost 8 hours) and she proceeds to tell me that they don’t walk the dogs when they are there. I can’t comprehend how a dog who is dropped at at 8 am (when they open) and is there the entire day is not walked? How is this even a thing? I also understand that emergencies happen and other pets might need to be seen first, but this is every time. And now a couple years later to find out they don’t want the dogs is absolutely mind blowing. I had to bathe my dog when I got back home because smelled of whatever they cleaned him with and was wet. He was also dry of thirst and wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t give him any water either. This experience was the absolute last straw and I will be cancelling my plan for both of my dogs. I have asked if they are going to bring back the regular visits and it doesn’t look like they will. Truthfully, this experience has just left such a bad taste in my mouth.

Although I had an issue that could not be resolved at this particular location, Daine, who answered my call, was very helpful and nice. She put effort into helping me that people at other places had not. Her effort was very much appreciated!

Really bad experience. They said twice the price for a surgery for my dog, and then, the day of the appointment, they said a completely different price, almost twice the value. Every time I go is the same, even if you pay insurance, the bill is going to come high, and I can't even cancel because if not, they charge the whole year upfront. Not recommended them AT ALL

Recently, I visited one of the Banfield clinics to take my pet because it was limping on one of its hind legs. Trusting that they would only examine it to determine if the problem was serious or not, I left my pet in the hands of a doctor who couldn't properly diagnose the issue. Instead, she prepared an estimate for the cost of my pet's treatment, which included sedation, an X-ray, and medication. But that's not all; she started talking about the possibility of my pet having a neurological problem, which would involve seeing a neurologist and possibly having surgery on the leg. In the end, they sold me medication for around $200, which I didn't even have to administer to my pet because there was nothing wrong with its hind leg. That hospital only seeks to empty your wallet and even raises questions about whether they truly love pets and want to help them. I'm not saying everyone there is like that, but that was the impression I got. I will never take my pet to Banfield Pet Hospital again. Not recommended.

My Brownie? She was the light of our lives and the happiness in our home. She protected our lives and home, and in sickness she was by the bedside. She made you feel relax during the stressful times, and quickly forget that you were having a bad day. She reminded us that tomorrow will be a better day. Every time we got home she greeted us with excitement, kisses, and barks so loud that made everyone in the building aware of our arrival. She was always there when we needed comfort and a shoulder to cry on. Her presence was a constant reminder that we never walked alone, and made us appreciate even more the blessings around us. Her love was unconditional, that was OUR Brownie. We simply provided a house and she turned it into a HOME with all of her love. Thabk you for showing us the value of unconditional love, and strengthening our family bond. This is for the good times, for being there for us in the not so good times. We will miss you and you will hold a special place in OUR HEARTS.LOVE, MOM&DAD

This service is horrible, they should not be fooled. They do not deal with any emergency that your pet has, that is, you have insurance for unimportant things. My pet had a simple emergency, stomach ache and they tried to charge me more than $500 between exams and others because emergencies are not covered. They take advantage of people, because they know that you are going to pay whatever it takes to cure your pet.

Most comments here are about pricing and scamming, do pet owners think medical care is free??? Banfield experiences have always been transparent and they tell you beforehand if there's an additional charge for a service. They don't take advantage of a pet parent distress, they give you options, but people overreact or get mad at (most of the time) their own irresponsibility with their pet. ?

I need people to understand how absolutely amazing the staff at this clinic is. My dog had been coming here since he was a puppy, all the way through his cancer diagnosis and his passing. I was seen by Dr. Novoa who gave me all the options, tests, care and attention any pet parent deserves. The manager, Melanie is also an incredible human being.. When the time came and my dog was put to sleep... They cried with me, they spoke to me, they reminded me that everything that could of been done was done. Dr. Novoa was not the one who euthanized him, Dr. Fernandez was there and he;'s been at the hospital for years working with Dr Zuniga. He knew my family and our pets for years. The whole staff makes you feel like human doctors should make you feel. I had more compassion from this team with my dog's passing than I did when trying to complete arrangements for my father and grandmother. I can not end the expression of gratitude that I have for them. It doesn't make anything easier but knowing people CARE about you and the welfare of your pet, on a personal level, will keep me coming here with this staff and quality of care.

I've brought my father's dog to this place for 3 years since we first got this dog as a puppy. I've paid for their subscription service which isn't inexpensive (ultimately I don't think worth it). My father recently died and his 100+ pound Rottweiler is now in the custody of my 66 year old mother. We took the dog for a check up since it was not eating for 24 hours. Come to find out that he has a bad ear infection. The doctor gives her $500 worth of medication (apparently discounted after the plan). Sends her home and we find out the dog is not letting her administer the medicated drops in the ear. I go over to try and help to no avail. Tried everything from treats to attempted force. I call the vet and they tell me that I am going to need 3-4 people to hold the dog down to administer the drops. There is only myself and my 66 year old mother. I asked them if there is a way they can do it. They said it would be $25 each application and total $250 if I wanted to get him better because it is the only way. I feel defeated because I want my dog to stop being in pain but $250 is an exorbitant amount for just putting in ear drops. Not to mention the commute. I just wished they understood and cared more about the situation and the animals. I understand they're doing their jobs but $250 to administer medication you bought there when you've been a member with a medical plan with them for 3 years. It just seems a little heartless.
