Highly recommend renting at Budget Car Rental MIA~ Ask for Mr. Jose! He is the best car rental associate, I have ever met at a Florida airport car rental location.Mr. Jose is super kind, very knowledgeable about cars, and driving in the Miami/ Ft Lauderdale area. When I am flying into MIA airport, I will only book with Budget as long as they have nice staff like Mr. Jose whom made our vacation wonderful!

I usually rent from Budget because of your quality cars and service. Unfortunately, the Hyundai Tucson we picked up in Miami, while functional, was unsatisfactory for several reasons: 1) The wiper blades were completely useless. They left half the water streaked on the windshield with each pass, and visibility in the rain was hazardous at best. 2) The outside of the car had not been cleaned when I picked it up; what looked like mud was splattered on the sides. 3) The car was dangerous to drive because the "tint film" on the rear window and a passenger window was badly and irreparably damaged. I was anxious my entire trip because I could not see out the rear window at all; my children were not happy they were blocked from seeing sights out their driver's side window. 4) While they provided an instruction manual for the infotainment system, there was NO GUIDANCE whatsoever on the dashboard displays or the buttons at the front of the center armrest console. This was highly disorienting (and dangerous) for an out-of-towner, especially when navigating Miami highways. 5) Hyundai's built-in guidance system is absolute trash - and while it supports Android Auto, no one warned me that I would have to purchase a USB A-to-C adapter to use it, since this car's system doesn't support a wireless Android Auto connection.I might have asked for a different car, except that when I was sent out to pick it up, no one accompanied me or greeted me. I didn't see the scratches, trim damage, and dirt when I first looked at the car because the garage was so dark. I thought the rear window was just dirty and I could clean it later, so I just drove the car to pick up the rest of my family and we navigated stressfully to our first destination with horrible guidance. By the time I learned that I couldn't clean the window, it was too late to return to the airport without significantly impacting our agenda. I am extremely disappointed with Budget.

The day I arrived to Miami I spent 1 hour in line to pick up a car that I had already been charged for. but I understand things happen and budget was understaffed but this is not why I'm giving a 0 review. things took a turn when I was sent to parking spot G02 to pick up a black ford explorer sport that was assigned to me. come to find out that the car was locked with no keys and completely dirty diapers on the seats and floor (as it was visible through the window) like someone had been using it. I thought I was in the wrong parking spot. so I went to look for help and was treated horrible by a Hispanic car lot attendant that was standing in the H side of the parking lot. I was asking him to help me because the car I was assigned was not ready. he totally didn't acknowledge and totally ignored me while continuing on his phone. so I walked a step closer with a firmer voice that I needed his assistance. he started screaming at me saying that he is not here to help me and told me to go to the customer service window. So I did and a very nice gentleman helped me out and knew the frustration in my face. but in no way made up for the way I was treated before. he helped me file a complaint and also over heard him saying that the car I was assigned to was RESERVED for the manager of the company. which I totally understand. But a company as serious as this one shouldn't waste 3 hours of a customers time to just get him in a car that was paid for before landing and on top of that be disrespected by a lousy employee. I was put in another ford explorer that I personally didn't feel comfortable driving since it was an older vehicle with less features than the one I was promised and paid originally. it didn't have a sun roof and the driving was very stiff . in conclusion my experience was the worst I have had with rental car companies ever in my life. I will not be using budget or Avis ever again and ill make sure my friends and family wont either.I WISH I CAN GIVE 0 STARS.I never waste my time on these reviews but my experience that i had shouldn't happen to anyone else. Please go elsewhere for your car rental needs. This is not the place you want to rent a car from.

I rented 2 vehicles from the MIA location within 9 days for my Miami vacation. The first vehicle was suppose to be a Tesla model 3 but it was “not in-stock” so they gave me another EV with only 7% power. Mind you my family and I just got off a late red eye flight and was exhausted. I tried to return it to recharge but they claimed it would take too long and that I should try to charge it off site on my own even though the paperwork showed that it was at full power which was not accurate. I had to search the surrounding area to find a charging station to match this EV that was not only available but also functioning. All this with a family of 5 and kids in tow in Miami at 1am just to charge enough to get to our hotel which was 33 miles away. My 10yr old was so scared he started literally praying that we don’t get stranded in the middle of the road when the car runs out of power. This was the very reason we wanted a Tesla to begin with as Teslas have more charging options. I ended up retuning the car with near 50% battery charge even though it was given to me at 7% as I was not trying to cause struggles for the next renter. The second vehicle was a van and after sharing my HORRIBLE experience, I asked the supervisor, Ingrid at the location if she would provide a complementary upgrade given the inconvenience I experienced with my p1st rental. She said that the company would not allow for a comp upgrade due to popularity of the upgraded options and that if I wanted an upgrade I would have to pay for it out of pocket. All this after we already got of a call earlier with another supervisor, Johnathan that had stated that the facility will offer the upgrade when we arrive. Note that both rentals were prepaid. When we got to the van that they did have available for us, we were greeted with bird poop INSIDE the van. This is their definition of a clean and sanitized vehicle ready for rental. GASP!!! I am not looking for hand outs but expect that when there is a gap in the customer experience that measures be taken to remedy. It was apparent that this supervisor and frankly this facility did not share this conviction. I am a travel agent and a consumer. When I say I will NEVER rent from this outfit again BELIEVE IT. I will also not recommend this facility to any of my clients, family or friends . This was beyond disappointing . Renters PLEASE beware especially if you are traveling with kids!!!

Unfortunately, not a great experience. After a 10-hour flight, we had to wait for 1.5 hours in a queue at the Budget desk at Miami Airport. There were only 2 employees on duty despite having 12-15 counters available. I had booked a 7-seat SUV, described as a 'Ford Explorer' or similar, but I was given a Hyundai Santa Fe (with 45,000 miles on the odometer), which is significantly smaller. Seats 6 and 7 were only suitable for small children. I complained and was eventually given a Chrysler Pacifica minivan, which was acceptable and had enough space for passengers and luggage. The pricing for the eToll package was not transparent, and I ended up signing for an expensive unlimited package that I didn't need and wasn't offered the better-fitting standard package. The condition of the car, with 65,000 miles on the odometer, was not roadworthy. It had one completely worn tire, worn windshield wipers, no windshield washer fluid, and the car was full of bumps and scratches. Sorry Budget, first and last time customer here.

This is the worst rental car experience i’ve ever had. The car is a brand new Toyota Rav 4 but the right side passenger window cannot close. It acts as though it’s hitting an obstacle when you try to close it but there is nothing at all blocking the window. The low tire pressure warning on the car was on when we took the rental, and I only noticed it as I was driving out the rental parking lot. When we were in Key West getting ready to drive back to Miami, the car would not start even though nothing seems to be wrong with it. The headlights was not left on or anything and all the accessories and even the screen were working fine. Roadside assistance came after a long wait during which time I was not sure if the car would even start since there were error messages on the dashboard regarding regarding power steering. Even if the car would start, I felt UNSAFE driving it. The only rental car location where I could exchange a car was in Key West airport and they were closing in 90 minutes. I talked to customer service asking for help to make sure we are not stranded in Key West for the night. They kept saying there’s nothing i can do except wait for roadside assistance, which i had to pay even though something was obviously wrong with the car. i even offered to take an uber to the rental location and secure a car and let roadside assistance tow the car away, but i kept getting told there’s nothing i can do. i requested that i talk to a manager who may be able to come up with a solution to help us, and the customer service rep transferred me to roadside assistance after i told him i already called for roadside assistance and was just waiting for them to assign a rescue truck and i wanted to talk to a manager not roadside assistance. i finally reserved another rental at key west airport just to be sure we don’t get stranded. i got billed for the roadside assistance and the full rental period. i will not use budget or avis ever again.

MIA location: poor service. Road side assistance left me stranded for 5 hours. No help showed up. Car stopped in the middle of a three lane highway. Other customer with identical problem and response from Budget. Never asked if I was alright or apologized. Refused to give another car because the car was impounded due to Budget not telling officer where to tow. Poor service.Car stuck on highway/bridge over water for 4 hours with elderly parent. The other hour was after the friendly tow truck driver dropped us off at a random plaza. Budget then sent an Uber for collection.

Had a car reserved from Budget for a business trip. Arrived at the counter about 11:15pm. Over an hour wait time before I reached the counter with 3 agents working. The agent was polite and had to fix the reservation since it was after midnight before I was issued the rental. Once I reached the car it had dents and scratches all over and the radio/nav system did not work. There was also a grinding noise when turning. I was unable to locate anyone in the garage area and at the gate check out the lady told me to go back upstairs to the desk. I went back and there was another long line. I stood next to the line and as soon as one of the 2 agents working freed up I asked if anyone was downstairs and who I needed to report damage to. Both agents with elevated voices told me everyone in line was waiting and to get to the back of the line. When I tried to explain that I had already waited in line and was issued a vehicle already they shut me down and said I had to wait in line before I could speak with someone. Another hour past getting through the line again. When I got back to one of the 2 agents who were so rude the man said they already know about the damage and there was nothing they could do about it. He said cameras photograph the car when you leave so don't worry about it and that was the only car I could take. Defeated and exhausted, I left with the car two and a half hours after I first reached the Budget line. The car did not break down during the rental although the grinding noise got worse. The car return process was easy since I did not have to deal with anyone at the counter. Speaking with my employer there have been multiple issues with other Budget locations as well. We will be notifying all employees to stop using Budget for rental cars. Almost forgot to mention the car was dirty as well with trash in the console and something sticky on the dash and cup holder areas

I have never had a worse experience renting a car. This was at the location at the Miami Airport. I was given a vehicle (Ford Explorer) that was filthy inside. We didn’t notice this when we first got the vehicle because it was dim in the garage, and this was the second vehicle we were given so we were just trying to get out of there. On the first vehicle (Dodge Durango) a part of the molding was hanging from the front of the vehicle. The garage operators did a good job getting us in another vehicle, but I would imagine they did not know the condition of the vehicle they gave us. The cup holder had lots of marijuana residue in the cup holder and middle console. There was a face mask between the seats as well as trash throughout the carpeting, seats, and door pockets. The passenger side dash was scratched up severely, the drivers side seat was coming apart. There was also a rattling noise we noticed coming from either the engine or one of the tires. I vacuumed the marijuana residue from the cupholder and cleaned the middle console. I did not want to put myself or family in a position to have to explain the marijuana residue to police if stopped or involved in an accident. I took pictures of all this and would love to share these pictures with Budget. Hope to hear from you Budget!

The wait to get to the desk is exorbitant, but once there, customer service is excellent.Let me begin by sharing that the cars are parked in a dark underground parking lot, so visibility is poor until the driver leaves the lot which leads you onto a busy thoroughfare. The first I rented a car had the overwhelming stench of smoke, but I was surprised when I got to my destination to see how filthy the car was with ashes and debris. I returned that car after I began to have allergy attacks and was told the car was not cleaned the night before.I was given a second car which did not smell like smoke, but was equally filthy with ashes, stains, and debris. I had to take it to a car wash.Budget has to treat their customers better given the prices they charge. Id give 4 stars for counter service, but the hassle and disgustingly dirty cars brought the rating downI will use another company moving forward.

Never rent a car with Budget. My car was vandalized, and my belongings taken away in the parking of Anne Kolb Nature Center in Florida around 11 AM. I have called Budget offices and I was told I would get a tow for the car and an Uber for me around 12:30. Five or six uber cars and a lift were sent to pick me up one after another all of them with wrong addresses of Anne Kolb Nature Center. Around 6 PM I had to pay a person with proper gloves to clean the smashed glass inside the car and I had to drive the damaged car to Fort Lauderdale Airport to get a replacement car.

DO NOT BOOK HERE! We made a reservation to drop our rental off here over a month ago. When we arrived, the location was non-existant. There was no signage or other instructions posted anywhere, and could not speak to an actual person when we called the phone number. We had to drive way out of our way to the next closest location and barely made it before the store closed. We did not receive any notifications that the store would be closing indefinitely. Pretty awful.

This is possibly the worst business i have ever come across. Booking the car, budget decided to tell us a different address as to what came on our booking email. So i called their call line and after holding for 30 minutes I confirmed the address that we needed to go to. Fast forward a few hours, turn up to said address... Oh fantastic there is literally nothing there and the budget has been closed for what seems to be years.Do not ever, ever even consider this company. It is absolutely baffling how this is still managing to make money.
