Great space to experiment clay. From utilitarian wheel thrown to slab sculptures and more ... I'm not in Dade and perhaps what I most miss is the ceramics workshop there. Sculpture out of slabs or glazed lumps of clay finished Rakú is my Eureka/Alas! pleasure.Who knows I may pop by for some smoked crackled pieces yet.Best wishes

I did the wheel throwing class with Mark Stein, and it was an incredible experience. You will have the freedom to work on your own but also the support and guidance of Mark every time you ask for it. He is an amazing instructor who cares a lot about his students. I can’t wait to make some pots again!

Love the pottery classes at the Ceramic League. We usually take pottery with Mark Stein. He is knowledgeable, patient, and attentive. He works well with all experience levels. From my husband and I who have been taking classes for years to working with my Down syndrome brother in law who is less experienced. Mark is an exceptional teacher who cares about his students.

I took their six-week beginners course last year (February-March 2022). I’ve never done any sort of ceramics before so I was hoping that the class will be informative and helpful enough for me to want to pursue pottery as a hobby. My experience was disappointing. The class was a mix of beginners and other more experienced students. This meant that the instructor wasn’t focused on teaching the basics of throwing. In fact, he barely spent thirty minutes (out of the six week course) actually teaching me what and how to do. Instead, he spent most of the class chatting with other staff or students, which made me feel like I’d be bothering him if I asked for additional help. It seemed like I was the only true beginner there, and the other students were so far ahead that it just further made me feel insecure and behind.Because there was barely any attention from the instructor, I had to ask my fellow students about the other things such as how to clean up, what to do before and after class, etc. I couldn’t emphasize more how unstructured the class was.Since I had already paid for the course, I figured that if nothing else, then I could at least bring home the few primitive pieces that I was able to form. They were fired once, and then I glazed them and then left them at the studio for the final firing. When I returned the following week, they had completely LOST every single one of my pieces.I followed up a few weeks later but got ZERO reply. I was completely ghosted. No apologies, nor any offer to make up for the hundred of dollars that I spent to support this business. Not only did I NOT learn how to throw pottery, I also had nothing to show for it. It was a heart-breaking ending to an already awful experience. Why am I coming back a year later to write this review? Because I had recently taken one class at a different pottery place in Miami and already learned so much more than I ever did at the Ceramic League of Miami. Best of all, I was able to come back after it was fired and actually take my piece home.I don’t doubt that CLM might be a good place for an experienced individual just looking for a ceramics studio. Maybe the staff will pay more attention to you. However, if you’re a beginner hoping to learn some skills, skip this business and spend your money elsewhere.

The first time I went I had a wonderful time with a great instructor and we got our pottery fired in a timely manner. The instructor at our last visit wasn't so great. It's been over 2 months now and we haven't received the pottery we made. I've tried calling and emailing and nobody helps me. I'm not sure what caused this change but I am very disappointed. I won't be back.

This is a great place to learn ceramics. Instructors are very talented and have the patience to explain as many times as you need. They give you ideas of what to do and help you all the way. I love this place! I highly recommend Manny.
