They previously would let one take a cup of ice without any sort of problem. Now, FORGET IT!!!

Publix’s business model has be molded from the art of charging retail prices and disguising them among some sale items.
Exclusivity clauses, in their lease agreements, are prevalent and lend themselves to not making it difficult for competitors to enter their turf. On he horizon, we have Aldi - with far better pricing - expanding in Florida, along with the rest of the industry-players.
What did I do? Well, I left a message with two Assistant Managers, for the Store Manager to call, as he had replied to an email. “He’ll call you today” was the reply from the lady.
Never heard from him again…..
What is lost, in retelling the story, is that - and I must CAREFULLY choose my wording - *IT IS MY OPINION* that this reflects a dirty business, where closed-door meetings take place and whatever is ethical or legal are simply swept under the rug. Why? Because they have a great team of Corporate Counsels that know there is an extreme right-winged government (both at the State and Federal levels) that promote tactics and shenanigans like this.
It is a question of what they can get away with at your expense.

Pretty small although still well furnished supermaket closed to Brickell in Miami. The staff is usually very kind and helpful.
