When I'm in the Grove, I tend to stay at The Mutiny. You get an entire condo. In the unit, there's a kitchen, washer/dryer, and most units have a balcony. The bldg has a gym, sauna, pool, and hot tub. It's across the street from the bay and close to all the restaurants and shopping. I highly recommend.

Just wrapped up an incredible stay at The Mutiny Hotel in Coconut Grove, Miami and wow, what a gem. 🌴✨
This place isn’t just a hotel — it’s a slice of Miami history. Once a legendary hideaway for rock stars, spies, and jetsetters in the ‘70s and ‘80s, it still carries that aura of intrigue and glamor. But today, it’s been beautifully updated for comfort and style.
✅ Spacious suites with full kitchens and private balconies
✅ Gorgeous views of Biscayne Bay or lush tropical greenery with visitors, see pics
✅ Prime location —The Grove is a great walkable experience
✅ Friendly service and thoughtful touches throughout
Whether you're a history buff, a luxury lover, or just looking for a perfect base to explore Miami, The Mutiny delivers.
Can’t wait to return.

The manager and staff went above and beyond to find and return me my smart watch when I left in the room and drove 5 hours away. They searched multiple times, and once it was found they mailed it same-day and it was on my wrist 2 days later :)
Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. Recommend.

We love the Mutiny because it reminds us of the old Coconut Grove. They have kept some of their now vintage fixtures and that makes it even more charming than the typical modern hotels that have no personality. The pool is surrounded by local flora and also has the authentic Grove vibe. The location is perfect for walking around nearby shops, cafes and the Marina.

I booked a two bedroom suite/condo which has a view of the bay. It has two balconies, a nice kitchen with all the necessary kitchen supplies, a washer/dryer in unit. Very spacious and open/airy. A/C worked great. 2nd bedroom has a Murphy bed, a desk and large TV so you can choose to convert the room to an office. The master has two closets, and its own private balcony. Linens were soft.
Take elevator to 2nd floor which leads you directly to the parking structure. I had a wonderful stay!

The Mutiny has had its day. Don't bother with this filthy, outdated, perfumed to hide the smell, place. Extra fees (resort ((hardly)) and cleaning fee?) Better use that cleaning fee to do something with this carpet. How do they get away with this?

Legendary stay at a legendary hotel! From the moment you pull up to the valet to the moment you check out great service. Clean rooms, full service accommodations and comfortable rooms.
The Mutiny by Provident Hotels will be an annual visit to Coconut Grove!

This hotel presents itself as a fancy hotel until you enter the room. If you have more than two guests know that the sofa bed is like most cheap sofa beds and has a bar across your back while you sleep. The ice machine in our room at first didn't work then after maintenance stabbed it with a butter knife and left a small mess we noticed the ice was dirty and had particles of something attached to cubes. They did give us a comically large trash bag full of us that also comically did not fit in the freezer. Breakfast isn't open till 8 so the restaurants nearby are a better bet. For the money you might as well stay at the cheaper Arya hotel around the corner. For $300+ a night I was hoping for better. Also when you check out they charge $50 for resort fee and cleaning fee so don't bother tidying up your room when you leave.

It really is a nice place to stay, but needs a few tweeks to be great. They have zero vending machine or small store to even get a soda or bottle of water. Their bar only seems to open after 4, so you can't get anything when your at the pool. Seems silly that they dont think they would benefit from a small bar at the pool. If us four ordered 2 rounds at $14 a drink, that's $104. Im sure other people would order drinks and you could sell bottled water for $5 each and just have some bags of chips or snacks to sell. Not that the pool gets crowded, but im sure it would support it. Also, valet is really lacking. A bit to do with construction forcing them to use a further away lot, but should have 2 people. Location is great for walking to many places.

i would be careful leaving your car at this valet, especially if it’s a kia. If you live in town, be warned.

Pros and cons
So the good thing is the rooms are pretty nice. There are decent amenities here like weight room, steam room, sauna. The balconies are decent. They have full kitchens. The Wi-Fi is practically unusable, though it’s very bad and very slow and it disconnects you a lot. If you planned to work from the Wi-Fi, I would say that is not going to be consistently possible.
Weight room/pool
The weight room here is pretty good. You can pretty much do all the movements. They have a machine with three different stations, offering many exercise options. They have a lat pull down, shoulder press, chest press, tricep extension, leg extension machines. They also have dumbbells ranging from 5 pounds up to 45 pounds. They also have several treadmills and bikes as well as a recumbent bike. They also have a steam room and sauna. The sauna is supposedly 24 seven. The pool is nothing special. It’s like a three or 4 foot pool and it’s always in the shade so it’s kind of always cold, which is probably good in the summer but not good in December and January and stuff.
Rooms
The rooms are pretty good. They have a full kitchen in here complete with fridge, microwave, coffee maker, water boiler, blender, dishwasher, range. There’s a stove and pans and silverware and dishes. There is a market that is walkable distance maybe about a half or quarter mile.
