Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is a National Historic Landmark that preserves the Miami estate of agricultural industrialist James Deering to engage the community and its visitors in learning through the arts, history, and the environment. Built between 1914 and 1922, Vizcaya is one of the most intact remaining examples from this era in United States history, when the nation's most successful entrepreneurs built estates inspired by the stately homes of Europe.
Vizcaya features a Main House filled with a decorative art collection, 10 acres of formal gardens, a rockland hammock (native forest), mangrove shore, and a historic village that is being restored to tell Vizcaya's full story and provide additional spaces for programs. Visitors are captivated by the stunning architecture, elegant interiors, and beautifully maintained gardens, which create a sense of being transported to another time and place. The staff is friendly and attentive, further enhancing the enjoyable and unique experience.
Described as a "must-see destination in Miami," Vizcaya offers something for everyone, from history and art enthusiasts to nature lovers and photographers. The property's calm, timeless atmosphere and stunning water views make it a truly remarkable and memorable visit.
This place was absolutely stunning! Even with some rooms closed for construction. I still got to see so much!
I would definitely plan at-least 3 hours to stay. To really see all the beautiful details.

It is an excellent preservation of how luxuriously spent life of the person. You have best materials from all parts of world at that time. The garden part scores a higher rating with enchanting flora.

This was a beautiful location for a day of sightseeing. Although they are going through extensive renovation, I still enjoyed the views and the history of this museum. ( And I am NOT a history buff).
I recommend anyone visiting miami. They come here and learn the history of the museum.
