The overall banking experience is brought down by one lowly teller. Not unlike other establishments, a banking experience is very much a product of the associates that work there. A nice, kind, pleasant person will elicit a warm response with a consumer and is essential in today's world. How many times does one see a company tout their "#1 in Customer Service, blah, blah, blah" spiel? I have been banking at this Regions for about 6 months now and everyone from Jacklyn, to the Branch Manager, to the other tellers are great people to talk to and always have a smile and a quick topic of conversation for you. They joke with you and build a small 30-second camaraderie that leaves you with a warm feeling leaves you wishing everyday was payday, just so you can go in and talk to them! It is rather unfortunate that ONE PERSON can bring down the rating of an establishment so quickly, because without this ONE PERSON I would have no problem rating this bank branch 4/5. Alejandra is the Head Teller at this branch, but to be honest, I'm not quite sure how she got the job? I've been in this branch 15 times the past 6 months and I cannot recall one time where she has smiled. She is ALWAYS unhappy, rude, curt, in a foul mood, exasperated to help, and overall does not have a nice attitude... WITH CUSTOMERS. While it's not okay to have these attributes towards fellow employees and underlings, at least you can fake it with the customers, but either she doesn't seem to understand this concept or must be good at something else. She needs to be taken away from the Teller window and not have any contact with customers. I mean to get perturbed when a customer asks you to break bills is simply unacceptable. A non-response to a thank you by quickly getting on the phone when you are right in front of a client is also offensive and unacceptable. As a smaller bank (relative speaking to the "big boys" of banking) Customer Experience is tantamount to continue to grow and attract new customers. If not for my necessity to bank with Regions due to my job, I would have closed out my account on the spot and I would have spoken rudely back to the aforementioned teller, however my mother always told me to respect my elders, especially a woman. However, I was also taught to treat the people the way they treat you. I also feel the need to say that I don't have a necessarily large account open with them, as it needs just enough not to be charged any fees, but honestly, I was contemplating increasing my presence in Regions, so as not to have all my eggs in one basket. You never know when you will be someplace that does not have a BOA, but a Regions is right around the corner. This is no longer the case for me as I will be looking to expand into a Chase or Citi or Suntrust. To close, Bank of America continues to show that they do a much better job at eliciting a comfortable banking experience and that is why I have ALL my banking with them. If you want to open a personal account, you can do better than Regions. But if you really need to do your banking with them due to job reasons, please do not go to this branch. BUT if you really go to this branch, do yourself the favor and wait in line for another Teller to become available. BUT if there is no one else available, just come back another day or you'll leave with a foul taste in your mouth from the lack of courteousness from one person.
