Zoo Miami is the largest and oldest zoo in Florida, featuring a unique sub-tropical climate that allows for a wide variety of animals from Asia, Australia, and Africa. The animals are grouped by their geographic territories in exhibits designed to match their native habitats. Many visitors find it a very nice, enjoyable, and beautiful place that is worth the fee, describing it as clean with animals that seem well taken care of and have spacious enclosures. However, some recent visitors note the zoo feels neglected, with many empty exhibits and areas under construction, leading to a changed quality. While staff are noted as kind and apologetic during unforeseen issues, the zoo is seen by some as needing more support and improvement to its habitats.
Well maintained zoo with pleasant, knowledgeable staff. If you can't tolerate long walks they rent four seat bicycles and motorized scooters. Great experience

Zoo is showing its age. Rhino tour was great. Lots of exhibits were closed.

Most of the animals were sad and lonely but the zoo itself was lovely.
