“Absolute hidden gem of a nature center/sanctuary. It is a small but wonderfully unique place to see birds you would never otherwise get the opportunity to see up so close.
This place seems to be majority run on volunteers who dedicate their time to educating people and caring for the animals. There is a suggested donation for guests to attend and it is well-worth it for these wonderful animals and volunteers.
There is a small little gift shop where you can get some souvenirs along with a bottle of water. Restrooms are outside of the nature center (part of the public park itself) across the entrance to the parking lot.
There is a lady who sells fully loaded hotdogs also outside the nature center and was a wonderful stop after viewing all of the animals.
Highly recommend!”
“Pam was incredibly helpful with an injured baby raccoon. She guided me in contacting animal services in order to contain him and allowed me to bring him into the rescue after hours. I am so grateful to Pam and grateful this rescue exists. Thank you Pam and company ❤️”
“My husband and I stop in often when we come up to Englewood area. This Moose is immaculate inside! Seriously! Spotless! Scott the bartender is always on top of his game along with the other bartenders. People are friendly and welcoming! Check it out!”
“They have always been there during my worst moments of life, being homeless with nowhere to go with my children and they’re (unlike any other church or nonprofit) who jump out of their seats and get you motel vouchers that day. They’ve truly been a blessing to my family at our worst times and I’m truly forever grateful for their support and quick assistance. Thank you and god bless all of you.”
“Fun place. Great singer. Lots of dancing. Excellent food. Inexpensive food and drinks. Go early to get a table. Volunteer service so don't be in a rush. Cash only. Must come with a member or be a member.”
“This YMCA facility is clean, well-maintained, and staffed with friendly, helpful employees. However, I have two issues that could improve the experience for all members. First, during snowbird season, some seniors gather and linger on exercise machines to socialize, limiting access for others. The gym is a great social space, but I suggest adding signs stating, “If not actively using the machine, please be considerate and move on,” as most exercises (3 sets of 12 with rest periods) take only a few minutes per machine. Encouraging socializing in the comfy lounge areas by the entrance would also help. Second, during school breaks, teenagers often sit endlessly on the machines while playing on their phones, causing delays. As a family membership holder with only 30-45 minutes to work out, it’s frustrating that many times I can’t do a complete workout due to the inconsideration of others which has been happening more often. Clear guidelines or time limits on equipment use would ensure fair access for everyone. Thank you for considering these suggestions!”
