“We were first introduced to CrossFit by our son and daughter, both of whom were deeply involved. We joined a CrossFit “box” up in northern New England. We loved the exercise, but we never fit in. We were much older than the average member. Disappointed, we moved on to another nearby CrossFit gym. Same experience. We started working out at home for the next 3 years. We visited the CFNP web page and followed their Facebook page for over a year. One day we just decided to walk in unannounced. We were greeted with a big smile and welcoming sense by Sarah, one of the owners. My wife took to her immediately while I observed Sarah’s demeanor, words, body language, and the members who were warming up and enjoying each other’s company. In the first 10 minutes I recognized the community aspects we had searched for over the years. Age and ability clearly were immaterial. The most distinguishing feature was the cleanliness of the gym. By all measures, I saw the cleanest gym I had ever seen in my life.My wife and I both appreciate the importance & value of structure, discipline, integrity, honesty, attention to detail, and interpersonal engagement. It seemed the owners, Sarah and Adam get it. After watching a full WOD we thanked Adam and Sarah for their time and took home their rate sheet. Not cheap, but neither were the ones up in New England, and all are much cheaper than chronic illnesses. This gym, these owners, unlike those we had previously encountered, seemed to totally get it.We decided to try it for a month; a pricey route but, that’s the way we decided to evaluate CFNP. We signed up for one-on-one introductory classes with one of their coaches. We didn’t have to go through the introductory classes, but we wanted to evaluate what might be different. We each worked with Coach Mil, a powerhouse of a woman with exquisite ability to spot things needing correction coupled with a gentle enough demeanor to keep us from feeling overly criticized. There was so much we were doing wrong! Thanks, Coach Mil.Once in the car, we talked about the great experience we each just had, and we wondered whether all the coaches were that good. It was clear, Adam, Sarah, and Mil all talk the talk, and walk the walk. When our 1st month was up, we signed a 12-month agreement getting us much more affordable rates. The rates are affordable because unlike our previous CrossFit experiences, at CFNP we know we have a fair exchange in value. We are getting what we were seeking. Two months into our “CrossFit reboot” through CFNP; we love it. We love the coaching that takes place every session throughout the session. Coaches, are in constant motion, constantly provide guidance & suggestions, & are always encouraging. We love the instruction, the on-time starts, the focus on proper movements, the availability of ways to modify movements to adjust for old injuries, weaknesses, and lack of joint mobility. They hold an attitude that communicates that everyone belongs. They know what to do and how to do it, as defined by each member. Members range in age from teens to well, us!In just two months we feel more connected with the members and coaches at CFNP than the years we spent in other gyms up north. Despite being the oldest members (we think), we have experienced a quick sense of belonging and look forward to every WOD without reservation. At CFNP every WOD can be modified without exception and without criticism so no matter our ability, we can participate fully. We recommend CFNP to anyone who wants to learn how to become stronger than you thought possible without constant fear of injury. Respect and great coaching are assured at CFNP. The exchange in value is well-balanced and its members are truly enjoyable. That doesn’t happen by accident. It occurs because they have a repeatable formula from which they never deviate. It’s always friendly and fun and all coaches clearly know what they’re doing, and they enjoy doing it.Bonus: All coaches are on the same page and are quite skilled and engaging!”
