Suwannee River Hideaway Campground was a very pleasant surprise and exceeded our expectations. It was a last-minute decision to camp in the area, and we wanted a quiet, scenic, and wooded spot to camp for the night. The staff were especially friendly and accommodating. We were assigned an awesome spot, which was very reasonably priced, and enjoyed a great camping experience. The washrooms were clean and conveniently located. We really enjoyed walking their boardwalk to the Suwannee River and the trail along the shore of the river. I can't wait to return and camp there again.

We are a married couple in our 60's and we enjoyed the peace and quiet of this campground. Cons wifi didn't work the entire time we were there. Pool was not working. At the end of the boardwalk at the river the dock was on it's side and not usable. Office was closed every day. When we made our reservation online we had to book a week minimum but a RV came in while we were there and stayed 2 nights. We left after 5 nights. Don't think I could recommend this park

We camped here with our Class B van. Beautiful and well maintained camp. If you like to get away from it all, this is the place. Quiet country get away. Full hookups and friendly staff. Safe camp.Safety: Safe and monitored well by staff within the campgrounds. This is a campground , not hotel.

Just stayed here this past weekend (3 days) and we were very happy with our experience. The campground is very secluded down the 1/2 mile dirt road, very quiet. There is a mix of sites, pull thru and back-ins, the site we had for our pop-up was spacious and shady. The park has the "Old Florida" vibe with the long wooden walkway to the river. Restrooms/showers are older but super clean and functional, plenty of hot water. There is also a newer clubhouse with big screen tv, games, two more restrooms, and a nice outdoor pool (not heated). Close to Manatee Springs, Fanning Springs as well as others, and 45 minutes to Cedar Key. A nice quiet weekend. We drove past several other campgrounds/RV parks in the area and are very happy that we chose Suwanee River Hideaway.

We had the best time over a long weekend. The park was so beautiful and peaceful. The campsites are big, clean and well-equipped. The boardwalk and hike to the river were so great. We will definitely be back!

Looking for a peace? Go here!If you want to take a break away from the hustle of life, people or social media, go here! This camp is, so quiet! So peaceful! Really has a, homey type of feel. You get large areas per camp site. A clean pool. A conference room to hold events. An incredible boardwalk to the river. An additional trail that walks you right by the river leading to "Jim's spot" (a memorial area) with a picnic table. They have books and movies in the office! They allow you to borrow and bring back! Their office is so vintage with antiques, collectibles, past herbal memorabilia medicines. The camp host, and main staff are very kind and considerate. I had a great month stay here! This camp gave me the break i needed and reconnected me with nature. Thank you to the owners, for creating such a piece of heaven, to offer for others use. May you be blessed, abundantly.

It saddens us to have leave a campground, that we really enjoyed living and working at. But under the circumstances due to the lack of management a problem arose, instead of them handling it management shoved it underthe rug. As you all know working in a small environment problems need to be handled immediately not ignored. Lots of favoritism was showed , and that shouldn't happen in any work environment. Especially when your paying campers can point it out. Terry &Becky

Amazing place away from people. No noise or barking dogs, just the owls hooting away. The sites had plenty of room and everyone kept to themselves. Clean showers and bathrooms. The pool was very relaxing and always spotless. We will come back again. ?

Had the opportunity to stay at this campground recently. Check in was easy and someone escorts you to your site. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We stayed in site G7 was a pull through with full hookups with 50 amp electic. Site has a picnic table a fire ring and was a nice size as it was at the end of the row. Nice view of the lake since no one was staying in the lakside sites. I imagine when the campground is full that would not be the case. Site has basic cable that was ok but the local channels did not come in very well but the remainder of the channels were clear. Wi-Fi was typical of most campgrounds. Sites are a little closer together than the website led me to believe. Campground is one of the quietest places we have stayed. Campground has a pool, clubhouse, bathhouse and laundry that we did not use. Price was very reasonable. Would stay here again.

We have worked at the Hideaway for 2 seasons now and it has been one of the best experiences for us as work campers. The owners are amazing folks and truly care about this special place. It's such a beautiful, peaceful and quiet setting. Everyone who stays here loves our 1,500 ft. boardwalk through the wetlands to the Suwannee River. The sounds of nature are everywhere and the pond (with 2 docks) is home to 2 small alligators that will make an appearance on sunny days.We have worked at many campgrounds but this one is very special to us and has given us precious memories that we will take with us when we leave. We look forward to coming back to this wonderful place some day.Lori & Deb

Great out of the way campsite. Reminding me of Summer camp with those old bathrooms and wooded areas surrounding the camp. However each campsite give you enough room to enjoy yourself and some privacy as well as being a great place for your furry friend. This RV campground is also located in a owl sanctuary so there is little to no lighting except the light coming off of each person‘s campsite. There is an incredible boardwalk that is as straight as an arrow that leads to the Suwanee river it is a must do while visiting the area. Although this campground is well off the road it is convenient to several local Springs where you can take in the 72° year-round water and even possibly swim with manatees. Four star rating because the new owner really needs to invest in updating the bathrooms and laundry machines. The laundry machines were very old and only one worked decently as well as placing a commercial filter on the water since it is obviously well water. I had to rewash all of my clothes at the next campground.

This is truly a hideaway! We stayed for 2 weeks to get our bearings as first time RV travelers and it was a pleasant stay! Cute park not super big and was not very crowed! Bath house had 3 shower stalls, 3 bathroom stalls and 2 large counters but we didnt use this facility. The laundry room consisted of 2 washers and 2 dryers and while they need an update they did the job just fine. The bugs were pretty bad but there were a few good rain days during our stay. Our site W2 back right up to the pond, there were 2 baby gators living in that pond but they kept to themselves and were a joy to watch and see! Lots of owls and other wild life to see and the boardwalk was really nice. I give 4 stars instead of 5 because I think the laundry needs updated and the bugs and I should mention the fire wood wasnt super great and seemed wet! This would be a great stop if traveling far and need a break! We will go back again. I should mention fanning springs state park is 5 mins away and has a great springs swimming spot! But the campground does have a small pool too.

Instead of doing my niece's spring break at the beach; we decided to go camping. After checking out state parks, which were booked with snow birds, we found this campground. It is wonderful! Quiet, clean, full hook ups. We spent 7 days there and loved it. The owners were able to accommodate our rv next to my sister's rv so we could be opposite's facing the awning towards each other. Worked out quite well. The boardwalk to the river is awesome. We saw a snake, owls, lightning bugs, heard coyotes, we even saw someone hook a good size bass from the pond! The pool was not heated, so the best time to go was high noon when the sun was beating down on it. Lots of areas were under water due the Suwannee River breaching its banks, but overall a great trip. We even found a pizza place about 4 miles down the road. Good pricing, good camping trip!

We spend time here every winter on our escape from Michigan to Florida with our 5th wheel. Unlike most private parks, Hideaway is quiet, spacious, and full of things to discover in nature. It is clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. It feels like a get-away without being too far from conveniences.
