Not a review yet but I'm trying to contact the hotel to ask some questions before I book but the phone number keeps telling me it's not in service and I can't find an email address to contact anywhere!HELP, Aloft!I'm attending an event at Dr. Phillips Center on Sunday 3/31 and I'm VERY interested in booking a room but I have a couple questions before I do but I can't get ahold of anyone. For the event, I HAVE to be checked in by 4:00 PM or they will not let me in so I was going to inquire if there is a possibility for early check in at all? I would love a chance to freshen up before the show.I plan on getting there pretty early in the morning that day and would also like to know if I can use the valet parking for the whole day before I am able to check in. I don't plan on going anywhere else until I check out the next day.I'm really interested in booking but like I said, the phone number is out of service but I need to know these answers before I book. I LOVE that it's SO close to the theatre!

WARNING - BOOK ELSEWHERE. I never leave bad reviews online but felt I had to in this case. What an absolute disgrace of a hotel with no place in the hospitality industry. I’ve never had such a ridiculous experience with a hotel as I did with the Aloft Orlando Downtown and I stay in Marriott hotels 2-3 weeks each month. On 3/18 I had booked a room for 2 nights 3/20-3/22 for my stay in Orlando while on business. On 3/19, I received a follow up CONFIRMATION email confirming my stay -confirmation number and all. At 12 AM on 3/20, the day I was supposed to check in for my stay, I received a singular email from a Samantha L**** with subject line “Your Upcoming Stay” informing me about two paragraphs down that my card had declined in their system and they would need me to call to reconfirm that morning or else I would have my reservation cancelled only because they have a fully booked night. I don’t check this specific email address unless I’m expecting a message or notice something urgent in the subject line. I’m up early every day to begin work and continue through the evening, but I actually did check it that morning. No notification through the Bonvoy app, and not one phone call informing me of this possible cancellation - unbelievable. To make it better, they must have run my old card details in their system just that day to have it decline. I had used my new card to book a stay the two nights before at another Marriott location with no issue and while booking with Aloft, I never received a notification from my bank indicating they’re suspicious of the charge which they ALWAYS do. I made sure when booking to enter in my new card details and I’m assuming that’s why I originally got a confirmation email on 3/19. Isn’t this why they always charge the card upon arrival? After a long day in a hospital and on the road, around 9:30 PM I was greeted by the hotel valet (the only good experience from this facility) who I tipped and walked to the front desk. All I wanted to do is go to sleep. Well, to my surprise, I get a confused look from the front desk lady, the “front desk manager”, when I tell her my name and hand my ID. Then I get the fantastic news that they had cancelled my reservation. Again, no call, no notification through my Bonvoy app, just an automated system email. I’m pissed. The lady tells me that they tried over and over to inform me that the card declined and my reservation was at risk of cancellation. I don’t know about you, but one email bright and early from a random name, no urgent subject line, and no call is doing absolutely nothing. She tries convincing me that they emailed more than once - nope, just that CONFIRMATION EMAIL on 3/19 and the one that morning at 12 AM from a Samantha with no mention of the Aloft in the subject line, which I showed her. She then tells me they are all booked for the night and have no rooms left - great! But don’t worry, she can call across the street to the AC to see if they have room for me. I think ok - maybe they’ll somehow do the right thing to fix the way this was handled. Nope. I’m told they have room but I’ll be paying full price, close to double the nightly rate I was supposed to pay at Aloft. I’m traveling for business and can’t take on this rate, nor do I feel like I should, as I had a confirmed stay at Aloft. She then tells me she can call over to the Hampton Inn, “a comparable stay a few miles down the road”! That’s not true and it was still more than my agreed nightly rate at Aloft due to the late booking. She then tells me she was going to call me but didn’t get to the hotel until a few hours ago, and out of respect for my schedule, decided not to. I didn’t need her specifically to call me, I just needed someone to, and that didn’t happen. After all this, she’s still insinuating this is my fault. I ask if there’s anyone I can speak to regarding the situation and she hands me the business card for the assistant GM, Edwin. I call Edwin the next day, leave a voicemail regarding the incident, and no call back. Great service, Aloft.

I stayed for 3 days and 2 nights (mostly business, partly vacation). The hotel's staff was amazing. From when I first arrived until my departure, they were friendly and helpful. My view was not much of anything, but I appreciated the effort.I didn't care for the room service food, but it's likely my preference. Also, room service is only available between 5pm and 10pm, which is unfortunate if you fly in late or want breakfast. If I'm being honest, the rooms were fine. They could have been better but they weren't bad. The floor plan was a bit odd though (e.g. mini fridge under the bathroom sink). It was quiet until Friday night and Saturday morning. I imagine more tourists around for the weekend. The location is great. It was ~15 minutes from Universal and about 30 minutes from Disney.

Everything was great...except the pillows (they were the most uncomfortable of any we've ever slept on).

Checked into room 211 in February 2024. Room was apparently made up but sheets had definitely not been changed and one bed full of hair (dog hair?). Further, the shower gel was empty, which of course one discovers only once they are IN the shower. The hotel itself is nicely designed, decorated and appointed but without the associated basic housekeeping service, I cannot recommend it.

I booked a room through an online third-party company and completed payment in full at time of booking. I just found out that I was charged TWO additional times directly by this hotel, using the credit card that I provided them for incidentals. I even advised the front desk clerk that it was prepaid upon check-in, which he acknowledged. Hopefully moving forward they will implement procedures that will avoid this so other customers are not blindsided by being triple charged for a one night stay. Now I am the one who is stuck dealing with my credit card company to rectify the situation. At the very least, the hotel should’ve contacted me to notify me of their mistake. Won’t be staying here again unfortunately.

Great hotel (furniture in lobby needs some shampooing to get out stains), great customer service (we were able to check in early), & great atmosphere! Location is in walking distance to multiple restaurants/eateries and 7/11. MCO airport is 23 minutes away, there's a ramp on the side of the front entrance for easy luggage accessibility as well as handicap and they also have handicap accessible rooms that are quite nice & roomy.Rooms: Mentioned above.Nearby activities: Mentioned above.Walkability: Mentioned above.

First and foremost the front attendant commented on our last name in a negative manner. The employee next to her picked up on my husband's displeased look and offered him a third drink voucher. Later we found out that he mistakenly gave us a third key card for the room. My husband went down to ask the same lady that made a comment about last name and she was rude. She told my husband she had no idea what he was talking about, even though she was right there when the exchange happened. The pool was freezing. The room was dirty. There was hair on the towels and in the fridge. Furthermore, there was an unknown substance smeared on our table. When I talked to the front desk woman about the situation she said she would note that for housekeeping. I then asked for wipes, which she gave me to wipe the surfaces down. The one thing I will say is that the rooms are very spacious and well laid out. The employee who offered us the third drink voucher also helped us with our suitcase after he punched out for the night. That was much appreciated. Lastly, we thought staying downtown would be cool but it was very noisy and you hear all the traffic and party goers. For being ambassador elite, this experience was really not up to par. We do not recommend. The Courtyard by Lake Nona was awesome and would be a better alternative!
