I have stayed at plenty of Best Westerns and I have to say this was the worst. They gave me keys that did not work. I walk back to desk and they said try again. I walk all the way back to the room and try again and still doesn’t work. Go back to front desk and they called maintenance to check lock. Maintenance finally comes and sure enough the keys don’t work. He goes to get a master key and proceeds to open the door. 30 minutes later he can’t get the master key out of the lock. We asked for another room and they gave us keys to a smoking room that stunk. We are not smokers. Also the toilet didn’t flush, sink handle was falling off and shower head was loose. After all this we missed over an hour of a concert and after the concert,we just drove back all the way to Fernandina Beach. This place is just down right trash and they should be ashamed of themselves

We booked a no smoking room but they insisted on putting us in a smoking room. The whole hotel looks run down & neglected & smelled terrible.
Needless to say we did not stay. We have not yet had our deposit returned ?

Stayed here this past weekend for the funk fest 2024. The dirtiest dated and dusty hotel ever. The bathroom has mold and mildew on the floor and ceiling. Triggered my allergies and asthma. A spider was crawling around on the bed. Sheets and blankets very old. Microwave didn't work.. I definitely wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Renovations are much needed

I never yelled at Mauricio - he yelled at me, scolded me for leaving a poor review due to my poor experience with him and his team, he kept asking me to prove I called up there. I offered him my phone records and refused to accept them. His team refused to give me a cancellation number and refused helping me, Mauricio refused to listen (as mentioned in my original post I could hear that he set the phone down to deliberately ignore me). Do business here or don’t. Don’t say I didn’t warn you though.
This location is managed HORRIBLY. I tried to call and cancel my reservation on either the 27 or 28 of May (my reservation was from June 7-June 9). They refused to cancel, refused to give me a cancellation number and told me my reservation was non refundable. Of course, the weekend passes and since they refused to cancel my trip, I still get all of the surveys. Of course, I leave a poor review, because that is the experience I had. I receive this email from the manager (?) Mauricio. I think oh maybe someone else will hear me out.. NOPE WRONG. He was the WORST person to speak with. (I am assuming I spoke with Mauricio. I asked for Mauricio and the man who answered immediately asked why I needed him and what this was about in a very off- putting way). Not only would he not listen to me, kept cutting me off on the phone, but still refused a refund. (Very strange how over email they seem so nice and forgiving, but as soon as you get someone on the phone here, they have no empathy.)
Yes - I did get irritated with the man but I was never rude or cursed at this man. He refused to listen to me, set the phone down while I was talking to ignore me. Instead of setting the phone down, he could’ve listen to me explain the scenario but in turn, all he could ask is what is my cancellation number. Well sir, I don’t have one because your team refused to give me one.
Not only did he scold me for not having a cancellation number, he also proceeded to scold me about leaving him a poor review after not staying here. I’m sorry but does this experience not count? I cannot be the only person this has happened to. Just because I did not get to sleep in a bed on the property does not mean I didn't get an experience from this place. Unfortunately, a BAD experience. My experience and take away here is - Mauricio has no morals, ethics, proper business management or interpersonal skills. MY EXPERIENCE with making a reservation and then trying to cancel it was horrendous and I would never suggest anyone to waste their time or hard earned money at this best western or with Mauricio.

This is an older Best Western in a not so great neighborhood but it is fenced well and within walking distance of Camping World Stadium.
The reason for the four stars was, there was no soap in the room and the soft drink vending machine was about empty.
Getting soap was not a problem and they were very friendly at the front desk. Would definitely stay here again.
Rooms: The rooms were clean, my pictures were taken right before I checked out.
Walkability: You can easily walk to Camping World Stadium

Rooms where very clean. The vlankets do need to be thrown away and new bought. We where in a non smoking room and the blankets had huge cigarette burn marks and holes all over them. The a/c worked awesome, kept room nice and cold. They need updated for the price but overall we had a wonderful night. It was quiet and calm. Friendly people and staff. We would go ba knife need be. The only down side was trying to get food delivery.. but that's not the hotels fault.
Rooms: Clean, big, cold a/c, bag breakfast, nice pool
Safety: Quiet and friendly people.

Do not go here! We were looking for something clean and small, nothing extraordinary as we are in town for a wedding and will not be spending much time at the hotel, besides to shower and sleep. The rooms were filthy, towels had hairs in them and were stained brown. The shower had mystery brown spots splattered throughout and the door lock was so dirty you could feel mystery dirt/grease it on your hands afterwards. Left to get late night snack at around 11:30pm came back to hotel to find I was locked out not only from my room, but the whole hotel building. As a woman, I felt very scared and unsafe to be in this hotel, especially when I was alone. I quickly rushed to the front desk to get a new room key and was met with absurd attitude, as she told me it was my fault because I must have put the room key next to my phone. do we live in the 80's?? I have never had this happen to me before but the room keys and locks looked beyond ancient and with the looks of this hotel, it makes sense. I can hear people screaming and truly do not feel safe here at all. Save yourself the worry and spend a little extra money to get something CLEAN and SAFE. Should be the bare minimum for hotels but sadly this is not the case.

There was an error on a reservation booked from a 3rd party and when I called the hotel to clear it up a very rude woman (I believe she was Haitian) was not even trying to accommodate me. I was traveling with a 5 year old and had no where to stay and she just told me that I was a no show and that I would have to pay again. As a business owner myself, I try to accommodate my clients even if it means inconveniencing me somewhat. This hotel not only lost me as a client but for all my employees and staff in the future. This was a a trial run to see if we booked This hotel for our anual convention. Their loss.

Worst hotel! Don't go there. First room was a smoking room and it smelled like a train station. We changed rooms but it was bad too. The floor was greasy, the sheets were dirty and all towels were full of hairs. After the toilet didn't work we checked out and stayed somewhere else.
The free breakfast is just a bag with an apple, a granola bar, a bag of chips and a water.
