Arriving at the car rental desk after a 10-hour flight can have you feeling some trepidation, as you never know what they are going to try and up-sell you, and what car they want to give you irrespective of your booking. However, my most recent experience was a breeze, thanks to the agent who served us, named Aymen. There were two agents at the desk and I never got the name of the other guy, but I can tell you he was very unfriendly and short with customers. So we were lucky have Aymen helping us, as our rental process was friendly, fast and efficient. No attempts to up-sell, just a courteous service and we were soon on our way to the garage to collect our car, which was exactly what we wanted and very nice. Well done Aymen, if only all agents were as good as you!

I returned my car to the airport, the person at drop-off checked the car in and sent me on my way. About 2 weeks later, I received the following email from Dollar which also included terms and conditions:“We noticed damage to the vehicle you returned to Orlando on August 20, 2023. Please complete the hyperlink provided below. Once you have completed the link, please email me a snapshot of the pop-up message you will receive showing the link has been uploaded successfully. To comply with our damage process, please fill out the below Vehicle Incident Report and reply to this e-mail with a description of the accident. Please make sure to also file a claim with your personal insurance and include your insurance name, policy number and the claim number in the e-mail and the accident report.Thank you in advance for your cooperation.”Not only did the individual address my name wrong, but the individual automatically assumed I was in an accident. There was in fact no accident and video taken at pick-up and at drop-off showed the damage already there. The individual also supplied a picture of the dashboard showing that there were 4 extra miles on the car from when I dropped it off. I never received an apology for assuming I was in an accident. This is a warning to take very detailed videos of the car at pick-up and drop-off. I rent a car a few times a year, however moving forward I will be looking at additional rental car companies. Dollar is part of Hertz, and I will not use these companies.

Terrible. I just recently visited Florida and needed a rental car. I knew that there would be extra fees but didn't know it would be another additional $200.00. We checked in and the man at the counter asked if I wanted insurance to protect the car... my friend and me said no because our current insurance covers rental cars. I know the system required the credit card to be in the pad before seeing what you're purchasing but the insurance was $70 that was charged to my card and I didn't know until after I took the card out and after I said no. When i returned the car I spoke to the manger and he said to give him a day to talk to the company. Well, the invoice came in and it was much higher than expected. They also charged for gas even though we returned it with more miles in the tank then we received it. I also tried to write a concern on their website but each time it fails to load the page. Very disappointed.

This jerk that looks like a rip off Mike the Situation told my husband and I that we had to get liability insurance because of Florida state law. We told him we do not need it, we have full coverage insurance. In the corner of my husbands eye he sees the guy air High five his coworker that he got us for insurance. He refused to remove it. Later that night We researched and there's no such law. We ended up calling dollar during the trip and they said this is not true and they will refund us. Long and behold when I called them back home to make sure the refund goes through, they only refunded part of the $250 charge. I asked why and they said I purchased gasoline with them too, which we did not! I told them at check in I do not need this and I'll bring it back with a full tank. So now I have to look for the receipt and or my credit card statement to prove we did! Shouldn't their system confirm this too? This is complete bullshit because of their sleazy check in guy. He needs to get fired for his manipulation! What a complete liar and jerk. Wasting so much time and energy!

Coming out of Yelp retirement to express and educate about the dishonest, unscrupulous, and downright fraudulent behavior of the Dollar Car Rental at Orlando International Airport. Before I get into the details, let me first express the most important point as a TL;DR: DO NOT, NOT, NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY, ESPECIALLY AT THIS LOCATION. To keep things concise, we arrived on 7/13 to pick up our reservation. Despite the fact that we prereserved and prepaid for a vehicle (for a seemingly reasonable $154), we were hit with a smattering of hidden and confusing, including an "upgrade" fee, fuel, tolls, etc. It was not made clear to us what was what. The additional costs necessitated a larger preauthorization charge. My friend (who prereserved the vehicle on his card) was over his limit. I stepped in to help with my CC but was told I needed to be added as an additional driver to use my card. This didn't make sense to me but we were already worn down from a nearly 90 minute wait in line thanks to their woefully understaffed and slow-moving front counter, and just wanted to be on our way (little did I know additional driver equaled a charge of $81!) However, we were very clear on a certain point: we did NOT want or need the added insurance. Upon reviewing the preauthorization charge I saw that it was a whopping additional $473 - due in large part to the fact they added two insurance charges on the account for $150, without authorization or approval from us.I called their corporate line and complained. They asserted they couldn't remove the charges remotely but would make a note on the account and that the local branch would remove the errors upon dropoff. On 7/16 I dropped off the car and went to go deal with the billing issue at their desk. After lots of runaround and waiting around for another hour and a half (including some rude, condescending questioning about "who from corporate authorized removal of the charges?! what is your confirmation of this??") I walked away with a receipt in the amount of $400. I also checked online and it was a match: $400. Finally, the erroneous insurance charges had been removed and I hoped to put this long arduous issue behind me. However, when I checked my CC charges on 7/17, I saw that there was a charge of $558. I logged into the dollar website again and saw that indeed, the receipt had been magically updated to $558 again, with the fake insurance charges back on. I called corporate again to complain about the issue. They noted that they still had no ability to remove the false insurance charges as this was set at the local branch level, but would remove the upgrade and fuel costs to offset the difference.I asked point blank: "Do they get a bonus or kickback for the insurance option?"The operator answered, "Truthfully, yes. The agent gets a commission for every time someone signs up for the insurance. But you don't have to worry about this anymore. I made a note on the account and you'll be credited."I asserted that I felt it was unfair and really dishonest that corporate had to clean up the shady behavior of the local branch but was glad to have been made whole. When I logged into the Dollar website the morning of 7/18 I saw the receipt had been updated to $375.50. However, the difference had STILL not been credited to my credit card.I called my credit card company and submitted a dispute, presenting the final receipt as evidence. Resolution is still pending but I figure I'd let the companies fight it out now.In summary, renting from Dollar was a downright nightmarish ordeal and by far, one of the worst car rental (and overall customer service) experiences I've ever had. I hope that I can save someone some pain and major inconvenience with this review. And Dollar of Orlando Airport - if you're reading this? Shame on you. Seriously.

Absolutely terrible. I’ve personally waited 2 and a half hours through the first line. literally when I was the next up they informed all the customers they had no cars left and they wouldnt be getting more for hours. A lady who was waiting 2 hours longer than myself, she was sent on a wild goose chase by the staff. When she raised concerns about the wait time and lack of vehicles. The gentleman at the counter called the cops on her. The actually Orlando police. There was 4 people at the counters but at most they dropped down to 2 and sometimes even only one, they kept going on break or who knows. I would not recommend this to anyone it’s a giant waste of time. Lack of all costumer service skills 0-10. Update there are now 0 people at the desk. The only gentleman there (who called the cops on the crying lady) just left so we actually are not moving

My Son Reserved a car back in Ohio through AAA and stood in line for over 2 hours just to get to the counter for Dollar to tell him him his credit score wasn’t high enough! His credit score is close to 800 He walked right out and over to Budget and rented a car with no problem!!! This picture doesn’t even do the line justice this is a quarter of the line and everyone was complaining and I’m glad he didn’t get a car because once you rented inside you went outside only to stand in another 2 hour line! Atleast now we know!!!

2 hour wait to check in at counter, then had to wait 45 minutes for our car. Then waited 15 minutes to get out of the garage. The employee also charged me for insurance I did not consent to. I Will never use Dollar here again. Pick another provider if renting out of Orlando international airport. I was told to call 800# to get fixed, customer service told me to fix with counter when I return car….that was also not the case. Also having an Express ID did nothing. Will never rent from Dollar again.

Be prepared to wait in line for a least an hour. We waited two hours. This company is a joke While we were waiting , We noticed One person, sometimes two, working at the desk, with over a hundred people in line. I guess they need their breaks ….Look at the pictures. Unacceptable especially when all the preregistration is done reservations are known. I’m sure there is a better way. One star is generous!
