Had a minimum amount needed to keep account open without fees, so we put that in because we liked the bank and wanted to keep the account open in case we switched over to it in the future. They raised the minimum needed without us knowing. Proceeded to completely drain our $550 w/ fees that never existed before. Basically stole our money and then wanted us to pay them more in penalties. Never had a bank just drain my account before after implementing new rules.

As a long-term customer of Fairwinds Bank on Central Blvd, my recent experience was exceptionally disappointing. After using the ATM outside the bank to withdraw money, I found myself in need of change for a $20 bill. Upon entering the bank and approaching Teller Haley for assistance, I was surprised when she insisted on verifying my banking status before agreeing to provide change for the $20 bill.Despite being a customer for over 11 years, I was taken aback by the unnecessary hoops I had to jump through for a simple request. Teller Haley's insistence on verifying my relationship with the bank led me to complete a bank slip and provide personal information, all just to receive four $5 bills in exchange for a $20.This experience was remarkably frustrating and time-consuming for what should have been a routine transaction. As a loyal customer, I expected a smoother and more accommodating service, particularly for such a basic request.I sincerely hope Fairwinds Bank addresses these issues to ensure a more customer-friendly approach in the future. Customers, especially long-term ones, should not face such hurdles for basic transactions.

I recently had an exceptional experience with this bank, and it's all thanks to Nelson, the loan officer who went above and beyond to provide outstanding service. Nelson's expertise and dedication made the loan application process seamless, and his willingness to help and answer any questions demonstrated a high level of professionalism. The bank's commitment to customer satisfaction, coupled with the exceptional assistance, has undoubtedly earned my trust and loyalty. I highly recommend this bank, especially if you're fortunate enough to work with Nelson.

I have been a Fairwinds member for over 5 years - I logged into my on line account last month and they automatically changed my account to paperless - meaning they did not send me a statement for my auto loan this month. But they did manage to send me a late notice and charge me a late fee. This has happened a few time over the past 5 years, and each time they tell me they will fix the issue.I have never signed up for paperless billing - - and the worst part is that they did not even send me a paperless bill - like via my email address - and they do have my email address - this is how I received my late notice. And to top it off, I just left he local Orland branch on Narcoossee Rd, and one of the associates interrupted my conversation with another associate and proceeded to be extremely nasty to me. She insisted that the website asked my permission to change to paperless - NOT TRUE!

I've been with Fairwinds over 10 years. My favorite branch is the downtown Orlando branch. Excellent customer service and wonderful staff, especially Kathryn McNally. She has assisted in my loans & provided excellent service.

I had the best service here at the downtown branch. I was able to get all my questions answered and my loan approved within a day. It was such an easy and rewarding experience because now I am one step closer to my financial goals and paying off my debt. Nelson was incredible, and it was like making an instant friend. Someone I can trust to help me with all my financial needs whenever I need it. I love Fairwinds and am so happy with my choice to bank there.

Went to Fairwinds downtown Orlando to make my monthly deposit into my customer's account. Today I had to complete a deposit slip that included basically the same thing that's on the one check I'm depositing. "What happened to save the trees" more paper to fill out with redundant information. I've been making deposits for over a year into my customer's account without a deposit slip but today the bank manager had something to PROVE by making me fill out a stupid deposit slip for one single check. And today I learned there are no more money market accounts. The teller who also calls herself a bank manager said there are no more money market accounts so now I will need an account number for my customer. And his teller who also calls herself the bank manager tries to make unwanted pleasantries to me. I'm so happy I don't bank here and only have to go here for my customer.

AWEFUL - Did not close a savings account I never wanted. Charged a $12 fee and RUINED my ability to open a checking account due to "Account Abuse" reported to Chexsystems even after I paid the extortion fee to close all my accounts with them. What a PETTY company. I have never had a negative mark on a bank account in my life, and never been declined to open a new checking account ever. They never sent a letter nor called me stating there was a fee owed. Horrible, horrible, horrible company.

After reading all other reviews I find it very hard to believe that people are having these issues with fairwinds at all. By the low number of them it is clear that it is a personal issue or a very rare instance. I have had nothing but great experiences in my 10 years with Fairwinds. They offer great savings rates and will help with financial decisions without having to wait long to talk to someone. My credit score has shot up substantially due to the help they they provide. On top of it, they offer a **** ********* credit card that outweighs the benefits of the giant credit card companies such as **** and ******* ***. More people need to give Fairwinds Credit Union a chance!

I have banked with FCU since 1979. The level of professionalism has tanked. There is a pervasive rudeness in a number of it's employees, from the bank manager, who acts annoyed, as if you are bothering her for business only she can conduct, to the pretentious fill-in clerk at the special services kiosk at the UCF.) Some weeks ago I needed to get a credit card for my Dad as I am now his guardian, or so I thought I needed a credit card. I called up customer service who connected me to the local bank agent and was told that my POA on file was insuffienct to open a credit card and to go to the local branch to sign an affidavit and bring proof of "my second POA", even though I had already explained that the document was for Plenary Guardianship. So, I showed up and gave this document. When I asked about signing the affidavit, they told me it would be done after the legal department reviewed it, (a complete reversal of what I was told beforehand). I went in a second time only to be told that the legal department sent it to the Risk Management Department, and then sneered at, as if I was some criminal, and told by the fill-in clerk, "We will have to see if you are even allowed to get a credit card." (The statement was reasonable, but not how it was said to me.) I asked again about signing the affadavit, and was told not yet. (Thanks for wasting my time.) Three weeks went by; no one contacted me. So, I called the online customer support again, who told me that 1) no one had bothered to scan in the Plenary Guardianship Document at the local branch, and 2) that there were no notes regarding my wanting to open the credit card, or my visits. The customer support on the phone patiently guided me through things and said that Florida law prevents me from opening a credit card for my ward, but does allow a debit card to conduct his affairs. Now why couldn't the local branch employees have done the same, instead of giving off elitist airs and looking incompetent?
