This is the result of blind belief. My family and I had bought 4 cars from HGreg, and everything was fine until now. There were never any issues because the cars were in good condition.
But then, just a few days ago, on October 26, 2024, I bought a BMW X5, agreeing to a 6-year payment plan amounting to $37,000. On top of that, I was forced to take a $1495 warranty for paint and seats, despite not wanting it. Later, when I drove the car, a strange sound began to come from it when I took turns, and a message popped up on the screen: "Emergency call system malfunction."
According to HGreg's policy, I called them within 5 days and 500 miles to report the issue, and their service department told me, “Oh, don’t worry, just come in next week. Everything is fine.”
I went the next week, and they fixed the noise, probably because fixing that was cheap. But for the "Emergency Call System Malfunction," the service department told me, "We can’t fix that. You should go to the BMW dealership because your car is still under warranty—50,000 miles or 4 years."
I trusted them and made an appointment at the BMW dealership. When I arrived, they informed me that the warranty had expired a year ago, and HGreg had given me incorrect information. The actual warranty was only for 3 years and 36,000 miles.
I called HGreg and spoke to the manager, explaining that this was my first BMW X5, and I asked him to help me resolve the issue. Benny, in passing, said, "Whenever we buy a car, we don’t trust anyone. If you wanted to know about the warranty, you could have called BMW yourself." That response felt strange, but I thought, maybe it was my mistake for blindly trusting them.
Benny then added, "You didn’t even take the warranty." I explained that I had no choice but to take the seats and paint warranty because they wouldn't let me leave without it.
Now, it’s been 15 days since I bought the car, and yesterday, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Benny said he needed 4-5 more days to speak with the service department on Monday and would call me back. I didn’t understand why it would take that long to talk to his service team, but I waited for his call.
I will edit this review accordingly depending on their service.
