We had an amazing stay at the Loews Portifino Bay Hotel. The staff and service was top notch I definitely recommend staying here if visiting Universal Studios.

Extensive refurbishment work going on that we were not informed of before arrival. Rooms are at the furthest point from the lobby area. No flexibility to change rooms. Won’t be coming back.

A bit far from the parks. (Farthest of the premier hotels) the bathroom was large but awkward - needed a table. Or shelf in the large open area to put toiletries on. Beds were comfortable and service was fast.

Usually a lovely hotel but construction was happening during stay. Despite electronic request (on booking) and verbal request (2 weeks out) for adjoining rooms, the front desk didn't have this memo. Took hours to get crib requested on the booking and on check in at front desk. Housekeeping barged in at 9pm, waking the baby and saying "system says this room is vacant" but checking with front desk next day, was not the case. No attempts at guest recovery. Rooms were well appointed and comfortable beds. Unlimited express is a plus.

The hotel is run down, the layout is awful. The lightbulb in our bathroom was flickering so badly our child was afraid to go in the bathroom. Everything is scuffed and scraped up. We have stayed at hard rock and royal pacific in the past and this property doesn’t even

Unfortunately there is significant refurbishment work going on at the hotel currently, so expect a lot of noise and disruption. Additionally, there was a significant leak in our room down the outer wall that became apparent when it rained heavily. The hotel laid down towels to mop up the water when they cleaned the room, but did not inform us of the leak or offer to move us to another room. We checked out the next day and made the front desk aware of this. I think it is poor service to know about a leak and not inform your guests staying in the room.Rooms: Leak in roomSafety: Leak in room

Can't t beat the water taxi. That was the most convenient part. Our room was clean with a decent view.Service was top-notch, and everyone was very helpful. We will definitely stay again our next visits.Food & drinks: The restaurants are very convenient. A little on the expensive side for what they are, but the pizza was very good.

Upon arrival we felt welcomed. The valet and bell staff were wonderful and helpful. We stayed in a double queen bay facing room. The room size was great for our family of 3. The bathroom was a great size too. There were small things that I would change such as dimmer lights for when a child is going to sleep. We ate at Sal's and their pizza was AMAZING! Highly recommend. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Universal Resort.
