Extremely Disrespectful and Inappropriate Behavior from Manager John
I’m deeply disappointed with the way I was treated today at this Publix, specifically by the manager, John.
I went to the store with my service animal, who was in my possession (not on the ground or on a leash because of the specific tasks he performs for my disability), I was immediately approached by John. Instead of treating me respectfully and professionally, he questioned me aggressively about my disability and my animal in ways that are not allowed under the ADA. He demanded to know what my disability was, what kind of animal it was, what exactly he “tries to do,” and more questions that are invasive, unnecessary, and very inappropriate. Even though I politely answered his questions and explained my situation, he continued to dismiss me and interrupt me, saying things like “I don’t care what paper you have. I don’t care what disability you have. I don’t care about that.” No matter what I said, it was clear he had already decided I didn’t belong there and was going to make me leave. He refused to listen when I offered to show documentation of my service animal’s training and purpose and that he was kindly mistaken by the statements he was making. I even asked him again if he was sure about asking me to leave, and he coldly shook his head and said he didn’t care what I showed him and told me to go. It felt very much like an ego driven power trip from a shorter over weight man rather than any legitimate enforcement of policy. At this entire interaction I was beyond respectful but he disregarded all respect by having a tone that was dismissive, disrespectful, and frankly humiliating. He seemed more interested in asserting control than doing his job properly or treating a disabled customer with dignity and understanding.
As someone who depends on a service animal for a legitimate medical need, this experience was not only upsetting but also discriminatory. Publix is supposed to be a welcoming, professional place but John’s behavior today was anything but.
I hope this is seen and addressed by upper management, because no customer especially one with a disability should be treated this way. I left politely, but the way I was treated was morally wrong and completely unacceptable and frankly really ruined my entire day.
Please train your managers properly and hold them accountable when they harass and dismiss disabled customers.

The wait for a sub here is an absolute joke, fire everyone and get some people who care. Start with Joshua and Katie since they clearly can’t even manage a hot dog stand. Have them get a job at Walmart since that’s more the level of service they seem to be okay with.
Also “Key” in the deli has the urgency of a sloth.

For how much we spend here you would think the managers would train their staff better, I got the run around at the bakery, and I’m over it. They could only find problems and no solutions. Shopping local.

The last couple of times I have bought subs in the deli at Avalon's Publix I have left grossed out since the workers don't stop talking to each other all over the sandwiches they are preparing. They even bent over to grab stuff from underneath the counter with their face inches away the sandwich and still gossiping over it. Bought the sandwich, could not eat it.

I live In Avalon Park and I’m not sure what has happened in the last 1-2 months but… the hot section/deli is a nightmare lately. I dread having to stop at this Publix after work. I really hope they can get it together.. seems like they are very understaffed. The last thing people want to do is hang out waiting for service, tenders/ subs an avg of 30 min plus!

This Publix is probably ok other than their customer service. Tonight at approx 8pm I had the displeasure of dealing with associate "Jenny" and manager "Morgan". I arrived to Publix in order to use Western Union to transfer funds to an account. Upon arrival I met with Jenny at the counter and told her simply "I'm transferring money to an account". She asked the amount and the account name. I said "The name is Copart and I have an account number when you're ready". She then proceeds to ask the amount which was $2,100. She asked how I was paying and I said cash to which I handed her the $2,100. As I wait for her to be ready for the account number she hands me a receipt. To this I said "where did you just send the money??" To which she said "the last Copart account you paid". Why she did this, I'm unsure. I could tell she didn't know what she was doing since another team member (white male in early twenties or late teens, didn't catch his name) was helping her on how to do the transfer. The account she sent the money to is not the correct account. Then, instead of Publix helping contact western union to explain what *they* just did.. they tell me I need to handle the situation on my own. I need to handle it? I didn't do it, to even know what to explain to them. After thirty minutes of standing around waiting for some help while they let everyone in line behind me pass me instead of splitting up so we could also get help, the money had already been accepted by the other account which I had no rights over. During this time I asked for a manager or assistant manager several times to which I was told there was none. After an hour with no resolution a manager named Morgan came out and told us they couldn't help and to leave. With no resolution. During this time I called western union myself and was instructed to handle the situation through Publix since it was a cash transaction. They also told me had they called right away that it could've been edited instead of approved. After refusing to leave without some instruction on how to get my money back the manager resorted to yelling and calling the cops. The cops sided with us, very openly and clearly to the team, that they should refund the money since western union is stating they can not help since it's cash and Publix has the cash. Unfortunately for me the team was unwilling to help in this so I had to leave without my $2,100. Not until the police intervened did I even get a resolution on how to fix this. They were wanting me to just leave without an explanation. Instead of Jenny being truthful in her mistake she lied and said we just said "send the money to Copart". Which is not accurate, I very clearly on video surveillance said "the company is Copart and I have a account number when your ready". I did not approve a transfer to the account they transferred to. They then tried to make the police make me sign the receipt that I authorized the transaction, the deputy said we are not signing since we clearly didn't consent to this transaction and verbally stated infront of the manager and associates that all they were doing was trying to make me sign the receipt in order to forfeit a civil lawsuit since it would show consent. So not only did they make a mistake, lie, and lack a resolution but they tried to also get out of liability. I will be in close contact with corporate and civil attorney both. I have $2,100 that is not accounted for due to poor training and lack of awareness. These team members were very rude and the police made it very clear that if they could make them open the drawer and give me my money back then they would. The manager wasn't thrilled to hear that. All around a poor experience and no team member accountability. Not even once from the beginning and "I'm sorry" or a "that was my mistake". Continuously "nothing we can do, call western union" and Morgan's statement of "I'm no
