Never rent from Budget!!! Budget rental rented a car with pre-existing damage to me. I didn't notice it until I left the facility. I returned immediately to report the damage and request another car. The representative told me there were no other cars available but assured me that the damage was already noted (there were markings and tape on the car in the area of damages so this seemed reasonable) and that I would not be held liable for the pre-existing damage. I had to get to a pressing business meeting so I kept the car.Six months later, I was contacted by Budget's claims department advising me that I was responsible for the damage. I disputed the claim and explained the situation with the pre-existing damage. Budget claimed that they had no record of the pre-existing damage and contacted my insurance company (without my authorization) to process a claim.It appears that Budget was not able to collect from the renter(s) that actually caused the damage so they (months later) decided to attempt to collect from me.In my opinion, Budget engages in fraudulent and unethical business practices. I will never rent from Budget again and highly recommend anyone reading this to NEVER RENT FROM BUDGET!!!!

The front two tires on the vehicle were bald. There were wear holes on both where I could see the threads of the tires. Wear like that doesn't result from 1 or 2 missed inspections. I didn't discover this until in was 180 miles from home. I had to drive back on these tires on the Interstate for 3 hours. That put me at a huge risk. The check engine oil light was on as well.

Good rate & nice vehicle. Only request/recommendation is to order your trucks with step bars, please. Would have been so much easier to get it. Dashboard screen was locked out too. Not sure why? Good experience overall. Will rent again.

Great location for car rental and return. Good friendly staff. The only complaint I have is that when we arrived to the Budget counter there was only one associate attending the long line of people waiting to pick up their rentals and then we had to wait another while for the rental to be delivered to us at the pick up area.

Zero stars should be an option. Worst experience renting a car ever. The “luxury suv” was a 2017 and a mess. After waiting over an hour to pickup, it was left dirty. There was tape holding the windshield, ‘do not rent’ written on the window, brakes squeaked to the point we couldn’t even leave the windows down to enjoy the ocean air, the car pulled to the right so much that my hand was sore holding the wheel tight, the radio kept shutting off and changing volume, the USB charging port didn’t work, the car shifted super hard, and more. The rep at pickup said we had to take it. On return, the rep said the vehicle is not supposed to be rented. ??♀️

The rental process was easy to do through the app. The rental pickup AND drop off was very easy. (I used the airport location). The class of car I rented was not available/not ready at my pickup time so they gave me something even BETTER. The car I got was very nice & immaculately clean. I am very pleased with my Budget Rental experience & will definitely be using them again!

The staff at budget was very courteous and very professional. They had my vehicle ready quickly. It was clean inside and out , the return was easy and fast at the airport making it a breeze to be on my way home at the end of my trip , I would definitely use them again on my travels in the future !!!

Southern Hospitality - We sure have lost it. At least pay attention to your job and don’t leave the customer wondering if you’ve noticed them. Car wasn’t clean inside or out.

My experience was exceptional. Arrived from Dallas/Fort Worth on time and headed straight for Budget counter where I was in and out in 5 minutes with the exact car I ordered. The vehicle was clean and operation was perfect. I had the car for 4 days and drove it everyday while I visited the gulf shores. When I returned I dropped the car at the Budget counter and was checked out in a matter of minutes. I highly recommend this Budget rental location

I rented from budget and during my reservation my husband became sick. I needed to extend my rental by one day due to being at the hospital. After I turned the car back in early I was charged for 2 ad’l days and the rep kept saying no it’s not although the receipt shows it. Due to all the stress of my move and my husband needing emergency medical care I forgot to fuel the car up and it cost me almost two hundred additional dollars if the agent had advised me I could have utilized prepay which I used to use. I will never use BUDGET SGAIN!!!!

The vehicle we were given broke down that night we got it started and thought it was a fluke but then was driving the next day and the car cut off on us again in the middle of driving. We were stuck on the side of the road for over an hour in the heat while we were trying to get it started. When I called budget they told me that it was the battery which doesn't cut off on you in the middle of driving and that it would be $130 for them to come out and jump us even though I'm pretty sure it was not the battery. And then I would have to call them back to come tow the vehicle if it wasn't that. Two older gentlemen pulled over on the side of the road and helped us and found that it was a relay that was bad and got the car started. We drove straight back to the airport to give the car back to them and did not want to stop for gas on the way cuz we didn't know if the car would start again. I got my bill yesterday and I got charged for gas on the first vehicle when you guys ruined a day of my vacation by us having to wait on the side of the road until we could get the car started. When we got to the Pensacola airport the lady tried giving us an older style Dodge ram that was dirty. We had to tell her to switch it again. It really put a damper on our trip and we'll think twice about renting with budget again.

I called the 800 number the agent who answered was rude and short tempered with me. I ignored his attitude because I needed to rent a vehicle to go home from Alabama to Arkansas. I asked him before even getting started if the accepted pre paid cards he said yes absolutely no problem, we proceeded through the application. At the end he asked for my card number I gave it to him, he asked me the bank the card was associated with, I told him Cashapp. He said no the bank getting more rude with me. At this time I'm getting upset with him because of his attitude, I couldn't remember the bank affiliated with CashApp so I told him I didn't know. He told me my reservation was made and to m make my payment at the counter, I asked for a reservation number but he hung up on me. When I get to the location to get the car I find out I have no reservation.

Extended a rental for 9 extra days, ended up dropping it off at the 7 day mark. I was expecting an additional $500 charge for the extra week but was instead charged $5700…. Needless to say, I am confused and highly irritated that I now have to dispute this charge. You would think calling customer service helped but NO. They told me I have to wait an additional 5-7 business days for someone to reach back out?? Makes no sense. I will be going back in person when there is a manager available. Overall though, I am so disappointed.Update: I had gone into the location twice to resolve this matter but was not helped (manager not available both times). I ended up calling the customer service line a total of 3 times. They ended up coming back and saying I owed $1393 for 8 days of a rental instead of the $5700. Still not acceptable seeing as they don’t offer any vehicle for more than $75 per day (fees included) AND I had originally agreed to a price of $54 per day if I were to extend. I ended up having to dispute it with my credit card company because customer service/billing was not helpful.Bottom line, Budget Rent-a-Car is fraudulent and I will NEVER be using their services again.

FYI, in case you don't know, Avis and Budget are the same.... So this review applies to them both.... These guys clearly don't care about their reviews, at all, and they clearly never have, so they won't care about mine either.... Nevertheless, here it is, I'll keep it short, rent from somebody else unless you enjoy long lines inside followed by another long wait in a crowd of people outside waiting for them to slowly bring the car to you, one at a time, maybe one every 10 minutes.... Total waste of time and their money, several employees sitting around there seemingly doing nothing.... What a crazy system.... Over an hour to get a car, choose somebody else to rent from, it'll be worth the extra money, trust me.... Maybe I can convince you to change your mind, the power is in our hands, when sales drop enough they'll have to reassess their process and make changes.... For now, rent elsewhere.....

If you plan on renting a car make sure you deal with someone competent. Me and my family traveled from California to rent a passenger van that was reserved. We called two weeks prior and two days prior to traveling make sure the vehicle could be rented with a debit card. We confirmed on multiple occasions with the staff that a debit card can be used. Well don't believe them after arriving to pick up the van, not only were we told there isn't a passenger van that we reserved but weren't even compensated for our time that was wasted.They tried to charge us for the van an also charge us for a second vehicle. We were however informed to make sure we read the website for better information and communication. For a family that has traveled all day to get a chance to enjoy the time we are spending in pensacola to celebrate the life of a family member that's has moved on to the other side. This family will no longer be using budget or Avis per lack of there compassion, and decency for tourists that visit.
