This is GREAT for Florida snorkeling. I've snorkel all over the place and I thought this park was really cool. You can expect to see some sponges and soft coral, artificial reef and structures. We saw lots of fish; angel fish, parrot fish, wrasse, scorpion fish, a HUGE eel, giant starfish, barracuda, tang, large crabs, colorful shrimp, rays, and more. All in all very cool place to visit.

The park itself has a lot of parking available and is located right off the bridge. Multiple benches and areas to sit and rest, some shaded. Awesome man-made snorkeling trail for both snorkelers and divers that’s easily accessible from the beach and has a surprising variety of wildlife. Often many people are there during high tide, even on weekdays, but the area is large enough to accommodate everyone. Came to snorkel almost every day of the week I visited and found it to be the best local snorkeling spot. Beach has lifeguards on site that are vigilant about divers/snorkelers without flags not straying from dedicated swimming area (and away from boat traffic).

The snorkel trail around high-tide is fantastic! The water gets clear and you can see a variety of fish, rays, and other sea creatures. Highly recommend!!!! At low tide, the water gets really murky and it's difficult to see, not nearly as fun. Come at high tide and you can see fish near the shore, but many more (and many different kinds) out toward the snorkeling trail.Update 1: we came about 90 minutes before high tide and the water was pretty good - although I think a little closer to high tide would have been better. Bring a dive flag if you're going out to the snorkel trail.

Great beach to bring kids. Constant shade under the bridge and the water is more like a pool. You don't have to worry about waves and under current with little ones. The playground was closed, but having that right on the beach is a big plus. Parking is super close, so you don't have to drag all your beach stuff too far. You can also fish!

Favorite park/beach in the area. At this very moment due to bridge construction it's not great... however it's an awesome spot normally. The snorkel trail is cool, lots of fish species here, I've even seen sea turtles and once a manatee closer to the sandbar past the boat passageway. I've also seen many starfish, rays, nurse sharks, octopi, etc... such a great variety of sea life at this spot!! The current can be strong though here so stay in the guarded area if it's not slack tide. It's a great spot to snorkel though, it's typically busy around high tide with scuba divers- I personally like to just float on a pool raft (I use a small anchor to keep from drifting away) at this beach and watch the boats go by. There are two bathrooms - one by the boat launch. and another by the fishing pier (you can fish here- and it's great fishing!). Parking is free as long as you don't have a trailer on your vehicle/ you have to pay for the bigger boat trailer spots. The sheriffs dock is here too, so there's always a good police presence that makes it feel safer. You have the option to be under the bridge too if shade is your thing, or there's a sandy beach area on the east end that's full sun. It's best to cross the bridge at the light after you park, to get to that spot though.

Some fish to see but don’t waste your money on scuba diving classes. Just buy a pair of goggles for swimmers like I did. High tide is prime time for this so check the local schedules for high tide time lines that change. Also there’s is plenty of parking on the opposite side of the road. Just walk across the street to the little beach. Pack light is my tip and bring your own shade for the beach. Currently construction site at the location so not helpful with traffic.

Due to construction on the bridge the ENTIRE area under the bridge Beach area is closed. This congregated everyone into a tiny section of beach. If u plan on scuba diving u have to park then carry all gear across the highway then down a flight of stairs. Was a much better experience last year. Just beware if u plan to visit fir the next few months

Must follow this tips for snorkeling!!!The park does not rent out gear. There are two shops within a mile on either direction. (Pura Vida is recommended) go here FIRST before parking. You must go when it’s high tide for clear water and to see. If you go when it’s low tide it’s murky as heck. You park in the lot (that gets packed quick) and walk across the bridge.Ask lifeguards for how to find the snorkel trail with questions you may have. There is also no vending or snack services so bring your own as well. The park is free. Snorkel gear was $55 for 2 people at Pura Vida (6/23)

Again this is a beautiful place at high tide, However since bridge construction parking is impossible at high tide because of the scuba diving. It's completely overcrowded. However when the tide is out it a bit easier. But beware, come early or choose another beach because it's still overcrowded at this time till the bridge is completed. Just a heads up,

Go for the clear water, swimming, and snorkeling which are all great. It’s a small bridge covered beach so the beach is not as nice.

Tried 3 of the parking pay things there got the 3rd one to work with my debit card, got confirmation number and thought all was good, came back from my trip and there's a ticket on my truck says I didn't pay, looked closer and see that they read my tag wrong and fined me 30$ 8 phone calls and 3 hrs on the phone and this still isn't resolved
