“Tonight was my first visit to Academy Sports, and man, count me as a fan!I had been searching high and low for a winter jacket for an upcoming trip to Massachusetts, and kept striking out at no less than 4 other stores. Surprisingly, I was able to find exactly what I was looking for at Academy, and for 50% off no less! Scooooore!Next, I decided to mosey on over to the gun section to browse their lineup. Prices were very fair, and even matched online prices that I’ve seen. They also have a large selection of ammunition - defensive and range - for very competitive prices.I also stopped by their shoe section to peruse their boot lineup, and was very surprised to find Wolverine boots at crazy low prices! I wish I had known this BEFORE I recently bought my latest pair of boots for more money at another store.I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the excellent customer service I received while shopping at Academy. The young gentleman in the gun section was very friendly and helpful. And Eva, the cashier, was super pleasant and cheerful. I hope management recognizes and rewards them for being great ambassadors.Overall, I was impressed with Academy Sports, and will definitely be back in the very near future.”

“I just left this location a few minutes before they close. Typically if you shop at a retail store 30 minutes prior to closing, it can feel like a rushed experience. This was not the case. Every employee was super friendly Andhelpful and willing to answer any and all questions:..I was able to get Hornady 190gr subx .300blackout for $24.99/bx20… that is $7(average) cheaper than anywhere else really. They’re 31.99 last I checked at academy in pinellas park. 24.99 is the best price you can find online for this particular ammo and you would have to pay shipping if ordering online.. I will be back to this location for all my ammo needs.Firearm selection is about average for your big box store. I didn’t see any real quality ar15s, only a few s&w and some other cheap stuff, but I’m sure they stock what sells.”
