Causeway Islands Park in Sanibel, Florida, is a beautiful and versatile area that offers a variety of outdoor activities. Despite ongoing rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Ian, the park retains its scenic charm and natural beauty. Currently, it is a construction zone, which may cause some inconvenience, but visitors remain optimistic about its full restoration and future splendor. The park features several "islands" with different entrances, each offering parking close to the water, making it easy to enjoy activities like fishing, kayaking, and relaxing on the beach. Visitors can park their vehicles directly on the sand, lounge in the water, or simply watch the sunset. The area is dog-friendly, with rules to keep pets on the beach. It’s a popular spot for boating, jet skiing, picnicking, and taking photos, especially of the sunset. Restrooms and trash receptacles are available, adding convenience for visitors. The park is perfect for water activities, and the Gulf or bay side provides great views and opportunities for BBQs and family fun. However, during peak season, it can become crowded, and recent erosion-related tree removals have impacted some natural features. Access requires a $6 toll through the Sanibel Causeway. Overall, Causeway Islands Park is a charming and scenic destination that promises to be even more beautiful once the rebuilding is complete.
Completely devastated by hurricane ? Ian.I really hope for it’s full restoration as it needs to be able to provide safe access to regular tourists so that everyone can get to enjoy this spectacular place and get to know Florida the right way. It was sad to hear that the water could be dangerous ⚠️ to step into.

Great place to spend the day at the beach. Paddle board, snorkel, or just grill and chill
Best for Beaches Because: The Causeway is a great spot for water sports and sunning with easy access to the water. Drive your car right up to the shoreline
