Requested an oil change and AC check. Got the oil change but no AC check. Then they tried to charge for unauthorized work.

My family has been going to this shop for years but it's been sold and we can no longer recommend them. I took my Prius to them because the check engine light was on. They changed all 4 spark plugs and the check engine light came back on the next day. I took it back and they changed a coil, only to tell me when I picked it up that they can't fix it. I took the car to Toyota the next day and it had a warped front gasket, evidence by the low coolant which is visible to the naked eye. The engine was irreparable and I had to get a new car. These guys charged me two times and ultimately sent me home with an irreparable engine. I called and asked for a refund for the second charge, the person on the phone agreed with me that it wasn't right. Only to tell me a few days later that he spoke with the owners and they "can't do anything about it." Really unfortunate to be treated this way, go to another mechanic.

These dudes are very knowledgeable and friendly. I have gone to them a couple times (for tires, wheel bearings, and troubleshooting) and was always meet with quality work. Prices are very fair and I will continue to keep going to em!

Reese Chevron Auto Service is a staple in the downtown Sarasota, Florida area and probably the only full service gas station in at least southwest Florida, if not the whole state. This gas station has served generations of people, but sadly, it looks like it will be closing its doors. Another long-established business and I would dare to even call it an iconic institution that has faced its sunset. I shall miss this place. Full service gas in Florida is such a rarity and now one of the few (if not the only) is bowing out of the game. I do wish the owners a lovely retirement.

Stopped here for gas, (26 female), and at first was a little sketched out because I was alone and the place is old school looking. BUT I stumbled across the cutest experience I've ever had getting gas. An older gentleman pumped my gas for me and also washed my windshield. When I asked to throw in a tip he simply stated "not necessary just come see us again". As I was pulling away, he then proceeded to do this for the next vehicle. This place has such old school charm and makes you really take a step back and enjoy little mundane things. I can't recommend this place enough. Gas prices were the same but I got a windshield cleaning and someone to pump my gas, but most cherished of all is that human connection you don't get at any other commercial gas stations.

On Google Maps, the price of gasoline at this gas station is always shown as $3.46, while the actual price is $3.95. All the other gas stations display the correct price. If this is not an unethical customer attraction method, please update the current price accurately or remove it entirely. Do not mislead people!p.s. The gas station owner assured me that the company doesn't update the gas price, but that's not true. After reading other one-star reviews, I realized that this is a deliberate form of fraud by the owners, where they consistently undercut the price by 50-60 cents. In other words, their price does change, but they intentionally lure customers with a low price. It's very disappointing that the Chevron name is associated with such deceit. Perhaps it's worth reaching out to the company so they terminate their partnership with them and avoid damaging the brand's reputation.

This is a wonderful Merchant they greet you with a smile and have been in business 70 years same owner. He is there working at 88 years old. I saw one comment from a person that spoke incorrectly about Merchant and their pricing. We all know that you cannot change a price on Google, Google does that magically somehow. The person even states "the price of gasoline at this gas station is always shown as $3.46" would that not be the first hint to someone there is a problem? Also that means when prices are lower at other sites their price shows a higher price. Merchants cannot simply go on to Google and modify prices on line. If you want gas prices try to use GasBuddy but that also is subject to anyone to update incorrectly. What a shame an individual tarnishes his Merchant and accuses them of something they did not do. This is a good Merchant who still provides full service (yes they pump your gas) for customers.
