I have been a satisfied customer for several years. I took my son's Camry to the dealer for a transmission shudder. They didn't even test drive the car and told me I needed a new transmission for $5k+. I took the car to Jim Dowell's and they fixed the problem for $250. I have worked with James V. for several years. He is honest and very competent. I won't use any other transmission shop! They're simply the best around.

All the reviews before mine are legit; I brought in my 2018 ram 2500 which is notorious for transmission failure around 150k miles (right where I’m at).
I was convinced I needed a new transmission based on a very lazy diagnostic from a local dodge dealership.
When I explained my situation to Justin at Jim Dowell, he was both considerate and knowledgeable as he talked me thru possible causes of the transmission issues I was having. They did a very thorough diagnosis and fixed the issue for a fraction of the price of a new transmission.
In my experience, any other place likely would have recognized my dire situation and taken advantage, installing a new transmission that wasn’t needed; but these guys were honest and straight forward all the way through. Highly, highly recommend. Thank you!

James at Jim Dowell transmissions was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and kind. He went out of his way to help with my car I brought into him. He diagnosed the issue at no charge and gave me some helpful advice. Very professional and efficient shop. Definitely a 5 star operation!

This shop must be the most honest repair shop I’ve ever done business with. I had a code for the transmission of my class C camper that indicated that there was an issue. It was found by the place that changed the oil and I was told that I needed to see a transmission repair shop. Let me tell you they are not easy to find and most don’t even want to see a camper. Justin at Jim Dowell’s transmission got us in the next day. He looked at it, took it for a ride with his computer hooked up to it, called and spoke to a tech support person. They found absolutely nothing wrong with it. They suggested that I have the ECM looked at. Now he could have sold me a new transmission or charged for his time but he didn’t even charge for the investigation into the problem. Nice guy and honest too. I highly recommend them!

Jim and his crew got us in right away when we had a little trouble with our transmission needing some fluid and it needed a special tool to get the job done. He and my husband talked for a bit just chatting about life and how he would take care of us the next morning. Just a super friendly guy who cares about his community. The whole crew was quick and helpful. The job was done perfectly, they even did a few extras just to be sure the vehicle was safe. Jim is old school, like we are, and you can tell he enjoys what he does, and he runs his business with care. Thanks guys!

Being from out of town i was worried about taking my truck in somewhere cause i know nothing about cars and they could tell me anything, I'm very glad i choose this place!! 💯 Justin was great, they diagnosed my truck, it's something i can't afford right now to do so i asked him how much i owed him for the diagnosis, when he said nothing i was floored. Great place!! ♥️

Simply incomparable quality of work, coupled with responsive, courteous, personal attention. Put a new clutch in my 1997 Jeep Wrangler, which had noisy throwout bearings, and now it purrs like a kitten.
