  Original: I drove from Tampa twice, arrived at 530pm on a Saturday and 540pm today (a Friday) only to have the doors locked, despite posted hours saying 6pm, with no warning or update that they'd be closing early either time.

  We had our wedding reception here and it was an absolute 10/10! The staff was amazing. The food was the best food I have had in a long time and definitely the best wedding food I’ve ever had. Our reception was so intimate and dreamy. Ann, who is the director of events here, was so so helpful with every detail and helped us every step of the way. Definitely recommend having your wedding reception or event here!!

  Every time my company comes to Sarasota, l take my team of 5-10 people (nice ticket) to Micheal's on East. This was my last time.
  Appetizers were cold when served, steaks overdone and service was slower. I understand all of this on a busy night. However, the reason I won't go back is, my ticket for food was 803.00 and my ticket for alcohol was 55.00. ( Has to be separated). I tipped 185.00 on the food ticket (corp card) and left the alcohol ticket blank for the tip. The tip was over 20% for both tickets.
  This morning I looked at my personal account and the charge for Micheal's on East was 222.00, this was the 55.00 ticket. I will be disputing this but extremely disappointed with having to deal with it at all. Dishonesty is running rampant.

  We recently held an event at Michael's Wine Cellar. The care and attention offered to us in planning, preparation, and execution were exceptional. From planning of the menu, by director Phil Mancini, to choosing of wines, to care given to our guests by Kimberly and Joe, things could not have done gone better. Additionally, you can't beat the decor with the shelves full of wine bottles, lit by numerous tea light candles all around the room. The attentiveness of the staff to our guests was like nothing that we have ever had at any other event. This is a five star review with heartfelt thanks!

  We hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner at Michael’s Wine Cellar, and it was the absolute best decision we could’ve made! Living out of town, as soon as we walked into the Cellar while visiting, we knew we had to secure the venue for our dinner. The coordination team was fantastic, highly responsive, and patient with all of our questions and requests. Night-of, the service was beyond stellar. Best dining and serving experience we’ve ever had, true hospitality. As bride and groom, we really felt like guests of honor, but so did all other attendees! Guests raved about the spectacular food (I still dream about it) and of course the wine we had selected from the store’s impressive selection. The team even coordinated espresso martinis that were top-notch as well as TV setup to play a photo slideshow. Highly, highly recommend whether just grabbing a bottle or coordinating a memorable event.

  There are so many wines here that it is ridiculous. The wife and I went here during a wine tasting, and it was well worth the money we paid. They had the best hummus and other foods that were included in the wine tasting. The next time this is available, I would recommend going.

  Attended a wine tasting here; nice crowd and selection. We started with champagne and sampled 3 whites and three reds. Two small platters were served to eat with each color wine. Michael's has an extensive wine cellar and passes the savings on to his customers. I just wish the tapas were a bit more substantial. Overall, a nice experience that we will indulge in again. One wine I ordered they were out of so I'll have to return to retrieve it. Overall, worth the money and we met some nice people as well.

  South Street,” a hit song by the Orlons in 1963, who’s catchy opening line—“Where do all the hippest meet?” was answered last night as we celebrated Dom’s 80th birthday at Michael’s Wine Cellar.
  As you enter this oasis of wine varietals, teetotalers and oenologists alike embrace the surroundings as they embark on their journey to become sommeliers.
  The space that serves to sell wine during the day is transformed into an elegant private venue, with festively dressed tables, candles burning everywhere you look, and a feeling of magic waiting to commence.
  Our hostess, Peggy, selected these Hors d'oeuvres;
   Serving Spoon of Seared Duck with Sweet Onion relish & Roasted Red Pepper
   Porcini-Rubbed Beef Satay with Thyme Demi-Glace
   Salmon Tartare in Cucumber Roll
   Pan seared Vegetable Pot stickers with Jade Dip
  
  Dinner, accompanied by Michael’s Seasonal Salad and Bread Basket had a choice of Chilean Sea Bass, Filet Mignon or Veal Chop.
  I had the veal chop: OMG!!! BTW, all these items are on Michael’s on East dinner menu.
  Dessert was just as amazing and decadent.
  Every attendee reported their meal to be perfectly prepared and scrumptious.
  The provided staff members represented Michael’s that evening as if they were the owners themselves.
  Seasoned veterans, Joseph Loria and A.J. Lachiusa, engaged every guest, skillfully and purposely, to actively participate in creating this successful soiree with the assistance from libation mixologist Jan.
  Now I can say with no uncertainty, Michael’s Wine Cellar is where all the hippest meet and stands alone in first place as the epicurean masterpiece of all South West Florida.
  Kudos to Michael’s for crafting superlative food, quintessential staff and a unique ambiance that creates great memories and sets the bar so high.
