“We really like this Ace Hardware in the Collections Plaza shopping center at the corner of Lockwood Ridge Road and University Parkway. It is somewhat tucked away and not especially easy to see from either road, but the location works very well for us. It is close to Detwiler’s Farm Market, where we do a lot of our grocery shopping, so combining the two stops is convenient. There is also always plenty of parking available, even on busy weekends. The store itself is well stocked and surprisingly comprehensive. Whether we need tools, barbecue grills and accessories, gardening equipment, pest-control products, or everyday hardware, we can usually find exactly what we are looking for. What really sets this Ace apart, though, is the service. The store always seems to be well staffed, so we rarely have to search for someone when we need help. When we ask an associate where something is, they do not simply point toward an aisle. They will often stop what they are doing and take us directly to the item. Home Depot is about the same distance from where we live, but we much prefer coming here. At Ace, we can usually park, find what we need, get help if necessary, check out, and be on our way in very little time. For everyday hardware and home-improvement needs, that combination of selection, convenience, and genuinely helpful service makes this our preferred store.”
