If you need prescription food for an animal don’t go there because they can’t sell it to you even with a prescription from a vet because they don’t have an in house vet to verify the prescription!!

Terrible - two times my appointment was “cancelled” and there was nothing they could do when I never cancelled. Lack of professionalism is truly amazing. For what they charge and then want tipped as well, I expect better service from people who should know what they are doing.

disgusting place. So sad how they treat their animals. Rodents in too bright tiny cages with dusty flooring that irritates their lungs and makes them sick, the cages don't even get cleaned properly because of the hassle they make to even make them live like that. The beta fish spend every waking moment floating at the surface of their to-go container home, with no dirt or colorful pebbles or even a leaf in their environment, no room to swim. What kind of a life is that? What kind of a life should they be forced to live? I truly believe that if I had bought one of those fish and taken it home, it would've died of happiness at being free. This petstore chain and location is atrocious. They should NOT be selling pets that they don't have the humanity to care for. It isn't just a fish, or just a rat. It is a living breathing thing that has its own experience of life and this establishment has made it their goal to destroy any semblance of a life for them.

My review is in regards to the quality of the betta fish. This being the third heartbreak for my 5 and 8 year old girls, we are done buying Petco's bettas. Despite excellent care that we provide at home, they don't live long, and it all ends in tears and a heartbreak, and epoxy to commemorate their beloved fish.

In Dec 2023 we took our 2 standard poodles to the Petco in Gulf Coast Shopping Center Fort Myers FL for grooming. Our one dog had surgery 8 weeks prior but the stitches were all healed and he was cleared for grooming. When we went to pick up both dogs we were informed that they only bathed the one dog but still charged us for a 2 full grooming. Needless to say that did not go over well with us. . The groomer was very rude!
Jump forward to Dec 2024. We went to book a grooming for our guys at the Petco in UTC Sarasota FL. When they were making a profile we were informed that that the Fort Myers location put a note on their system that both dogs needed to be groomed somewhere else. We were in a state of disbelief and explained exactly what had happened. The groomer informed us she would need to have her manager review the notes to which we replied to forget it and will go somewhere else.
I would not recommend anyone ever go to any Petco as they are rude, try to rip you off, and have the worse customer service

This place is the most expensive place in the world! For a dog 🦴 15.00... Go to Walmart same thing 10 times cheaper same quality. Over priced to the max!

Thy wrote the wrong prescription for my dogs flea and heartworm medication, leaving off he heartworm for nexgard. Now they are claiming the only way to fix is to come in person and pay for another office visit to correct the issue. While also bringing my dog in. This so crazy.

Grooming experience was terrible. Should have seen the reviews before we took our pups there. Haley was very rude and totally unprofessional. Kept telling us our puppy wasn’t trained to be groomed and we should come every 2 months when we were there 6 weeks prior for a puppy cut. Would not recommend.

They won't let us hold the cat for liability reasons. There is no point in even adopting the cat if you can barely interact with the cat.

Be careful getting your pet groomed at this place the price was supposed to be one price and when you pickup your dog the price doubled.

Parakeet bought here was injured
They clip the wings but they clipped too high
Didn’t notice till brought home
Called store reassured me he was fine would grow back normally
Called again 3 months later because the bird still couldn’t fly
They said the birds can take up to two years to fly depending on their molting.
The injury has cause feather cysts and the bird to continuously hurt himself further
Check the birds wings before purchasing
I can’t give him up because now he is part of our family but he seems sad because he is unable to fly and hurt

The cashier helped me with one of the dog foods and explained if my dog is going to be on a special diet that the vet will give me a rx.
