Extremely disappointing experience at this location.
I first called ahead to ask if they carried Timothy 2nd cut hay. The employee I spoke with clearly had no idea what I meant, replying “I don’t think we cut any of our hay,” which already told me staff aren’t familiar with the most basic product info rabbit or horse owners would need.
When I went in, I politely asked the cashier if I could pay for two bags of pelleted bedding (no problem) and also for a Timothy compressed bale. Instead of showing me where it was, he held up a photo of horse bedding. And I said, “No not bedding, I’m looking for Timothy hay” he said he didn’t know what that was. He asked a coworker who ignored him, and walked away. Then another employee walked by; she begrudgingly asked if I’d looked “in the back.” I explained this was my first time buying hay there and I didn’t know where it was. With an annoyed sigh, she snapped “I’ll just look,” and walked ahead of me without slowing down.
As I followed and tried to thank her for helping, she tapped the hay bale once and immediately walked away, not offering any further help. I have a recent back injury and couldn’t lift the 50lb bale, so when I got to the front at the same time she did, I asked if I could have something to carry it with. She curtly told me to go outside and get a customer cart, then grabbed the store cart she was pushing and put it away so I couldn’t use it. The cashier looked embarrassed, but no one offered help.
My husband and I ended up dragging the bale to the front ourselves.
The employees were uninformed, rude, and clearly did not care about customer service. They didn’t know basic product info, offered zero help, and treated us like an annoyance.
I’m very disappointed because Tractor Supply used to have a good reputation, but after this experience I will not be going back.

Horrible customer service experience when it came to a gun safe I ordered in person in the Venice store and was being delivered by the Sarasota store.
Because of a recent corporate restructuring the manager of the Venice store told me safe delivery would be hell .
It was .
There was no communication between the stores and no record of me filling out my delivery information.
After me calling the Sarasota store and the Venice store a total of 15 - 20 times basically acting as the middle man..
The only person that was helpful through the entire process was Anthony.
Anthony was very accommodating when it came to me asking for a refund, he approved it immediately, that’s the best thing that came out of this situation .

This review is solely based off of curbside pick-up. I regularly shop at this store. I normally shop in store but I also take advantage of online ordering w curbside pickup from time to time since hurting my arm. Normally when I check in on the app the order is brought out fairly quickly. Tonight, I checked in on the app twice and was waiting for over 20 minutes. I then called the store and spoke to someone who said he would be right out. I continued waiting and waiting. I ended up having someone go in to pick up the order for me since it’s hard for me to lift the heavier items. If there is a delay or issue with getting orders out, it should have been communicated when I called.

Nice cashier, but false advertising.
3 wild life cages on the floor with $29.99 on them. Rung up as $59.99. The special was actually for 2 traps for $29.99, Even better.
They didn't have those. Online said they had single traps for $39.99. I was ready to pay that to get the racoons out of the school, but then I was rung up at $59.99 per cage. Ouch... Oh well.. I needed them..
A Manager was on the floor at the time. Great place and awesome products, but a little work needed in with the customer service and properly setting up their sales displays.
Thanks Sarasota (Fruitville) Tractor Supply?

Your store rarely opens on time. This is the third time I’ve gone on a Sunday and it hasn’t been open at 8 AM.

I'm writing to inquire about a large truck selling meat and steaks for large discounts in the parking lot of your Sarasota Fruitville location. These trucks often raise concerns due to the potential for misleading deals and questionable quality.
My questions are:
Is Tractor Supply Co. affiliated with this meat truck in any way?
Are you aware of any customer complaints regarding this vendor?
Do you have any information on the legitimacy and quality of the meat they sell?
It would be helpful to know if Tractor Supply Co. endorses this vendor or simply allows them to use the parking lot.
Thank you for your time and clarification.
