I usually have no issues at this location, but today the service was disappointing. Two young employees didn’t seem to understand basic customer service. Not the level of service I expect from UPS, so I walked away from this store.

I recently had a frustrating experience at the UPS store located at 8350 Bee Ridge Rd. While I've had multiple packages shipped to this location in the past without any issues, my latest visit took a turn for the worse. Upon picking up my package, I was unexpectedly charged an extra $5. When I inquired about this new fee, the associate informed me that the owner/manager, Cara Lane, has decided to implement this charge since the store is not considered a true UPS Access Point, despite what is advertised online.
This misleading information is incredibly disappointing. I had relied on the convenience of shipping my packages to this location, only to be hit with an unexpected fee that was never mentioned before. It's clear that this store is not living up to the standard of a genuine UPS store.
To anyone considering using this location, be warned: it is NOT a UPS Access Point, and you will be charged extra for your packages. I would much rather drive the extra five miles to find a real UPS store where I won't be surprised with hidden fees. This experience has completely diminished my trust in this store. Save yourself the hassle and choose a different location!

We have used this UPS location for several years, but after our recent experience, we felt compelled to share our concerns in hopes that management will address them appropriately.
As a law firm, we regularly rely on overnight delivery for time-sensitive legal documents. On Wednesday evening, we dropped off five packages well before the final pickup time, following the same procedures we’ve always used. By Thursday morning, the tracking information showed no movement. Concerned, we returned to the store to inquire.
Unfortunately, the three young employees working at the time were unhelpful and dismissive. One of them—when informed the packages were intended for overnight delivery—sarcastically commented that they were “smart enough” to have gotten them on the truck. Just moments later, another employee located all five of our packages, confirming none had actually been shipped out as intended.
When we asked to speak with a manager, we were told they were unavailable and on vacation. The staff showed no sense of urgency, no apology, and behaved unprofessionally throughout the interaction—particularly the female employee, whose demeanor was abrasive and inappropriate for a customer service setting.
When clients are depending on critical documents to arrive the next day and we’ve paid for overnight service, we expect at the very least accountability and professionalism. We strongly recommend anyone with important, time-sensitive deliveries consider using a different UPS location.

I've been shipping for 3 years using UPS in Sarasota using UTC location. Recently, I used this Bee Ridge Store 3 times, and boy, do I regret it. Every package I dropped off here, was post billed for wrong measurements and weight. I weigh and measure all my packages before purchasing a label. Never had issues until I used this store. A package that weighed 11 pounds was magically 40 lbs. Another package that was 36 pounds was magically 90 lbs... the post billing was more than the original label price that I purchased. My 7 pound box magically turned into 31 pounds. Talk about a scam system they got running here.
Filling a formal complaint with corporate! This is messed up.

Advertised notary services, but doesn’t have somewhere there during main business hours to notarize. Advise calling ahead before wasting your time.

Gave it another try and they are all rude, unfriendly and miserable. It must be a prerequisite at this location if you work there.

Many thanks to the UPS store staff, I received a package that was not mine and opened it, when I realized it was not mine, I took to the UPS store and left it there. Once I got home, and checked for a package that I was waiting for, I realized that my package was checked off as delivered. I called the UPS store and Cara was very helpful! She took a picture of the label and sent to me so that I could contact the store my items were marked delivered from. I have been to this UPS store several times and everyone is always nice, professional and friendly. I appreciate good customer service and this store has gone out of there way to help me more than once!

This man is selective with who he is nice to. He was rude to me but nice to a customer he knew. I wasn’t mean To him at all but he was mean. No reason at all to waste my time to write this review. This man has issues! So many women who live in the area avoid this store and go to UTC instead. I truly don’t understand why he’s mean or discriminates against some people.

I don’t know where to begin. After reading all the negative reviews this place rightfully deserves, I read the owner responses which are comical. This guy is rude, mean, unfriendly, unhelpful, nasty and any other name related to an unhappy miserable human being. His responses are big fat lies. He doesn’t care about people or business. Stay away from this place.

If I could give zero stars for the customer service, I would. I realize it is the last half hour of your shift on a Friday, but if you are open until 6pm then the courteous customer service should extend to that time. When I walked in with a question about a USPS package that was dropped off, one employee was too busy to even look up from what he was doing to sincerely acknowledge my question and the other employee was silent. The only answer I received was "That is a USPS problem not ours." No further attempt to help AT ALL and almost irritated that I asked the question. Even if there is nothing they could do about it, I would appreciate a more sincere attempt to care or provide some guidance on how to solve it. I have had good experience to this point with the store, but the two employees there tonight should have a better attitude toward customer service regardless of the question or time during business hours. This is your job.
