“We came to Florida for the winter and brought our 13 year old Cavalier who had been diagnosed with lymphoma. We knew that she would not be returning home alive. We found Del Mar veterinary hospital by reading the reviews. I called and talk to one of the technicians and was told that when the time came to euthanize our Lacey that it could be done in the office at a fair price. The day came on a Monday, I called and said it was time and was given an appointment at the end of day. When we arrived every one was very friendly and compassionate and offered us coffee and tea etc. they also gave our puppy treats and plenty of water. We filled out most of the required paper work online and had a short wait until we were taken to a special room that had a couch, soft music and candles. The veterinarian Dr Nieves came and performed the euthanization. Dr Nieves was very gentle with Lacey and made sure she was comfortable. After that he left us alone and told us we could stay as long as we wanted. Everyone at Del Mar made an unbearable situation bearable. We couldn't have ask for a more caring and kind hearted group of people to get us through this sad experience. We had Lacey privately cremated and after two weeks we received her cremains in a beautiful wooden box with a name plate. Thanks to all of you for being so kind to my wife and me! God's blessings on you all.”

“The people were wonderful. Explains everything, follow-ups on returning phone calls. Lost a star due to time. 3 hours for 3 dogs, it was a long day. But we're not giving up on them yet.”

“When I first moved to St. Augustine, one of the most important things I needed to do was find a good vet. Not just good, excellent. My 2 of my 3 Goldens do have underlying medical conditions. I lucked out. A stranger recommended the hospital. I reviewed their website and quickly noticed that Dr. Lopez had a connection with my breed. That's important to me. Even before I officially was a client, I called them to see if they could work one of my Goldens in b/c I thought he had injected a foreign object. They couldn't see him, recommended the local ER where the problem was resolved. Yet, even though I wasn't a client, they called the next day to see how my dog was doing. Now, that's above and beyond!! My appointments are always timely. If there's a problem, they work me in. I'm the first to admit I am a high-maintenance client. Always have questions, and often have suggestions. They always take the time (either in person or by email) to answer concerns and explain why or why not my recommendations are appropriate. Highly recommend!”

“Small and family owned. Took my furry beast in for some shots since moving from Texas. I loved Terry at the front desk and Carson the tech and the vet's son- everyone was friendly and kind and they have specials on meds on Tuesdays and honor prices on Petmeds. We have our new Vet for sure.”

“Everyone was wonderful! We had an urgent need for our girl, and though we are only in town for a short time, the staff did an amazing job working us in. The techs were all fantastic, and Dr. Jones took time and was concerned for our girl. If we lived in the area (we travel full-time) we would absolutely bring all of our animals here!”

“The only negative about this wonderful little vets office is the small parking lot, but that is just life in downtown St. Augustine, and it usually works out. Great service, organized and polite administrative staff, prompt appointment times, able and willing to answer any questions. Great Vet office highly recommend!”

“We were traveling through the area when our dog ate something that caused a blockage. We took him to Mantanzas River Animal Hospital where Dr. Nicholas saw him. After doing X-rays and a sonogram the Dr. showed us not only the blockage, but a very large liver (our dog had Cushing's) where he discovered two tumors, as well as pneumonia caused by vomiting from when our dog was trying to expel the foreign object.Dr. Nicholas was very upfront and factual about our options and when asked, he provided his personal recommendation. He was right but the decision was still very difficult and painful. We never felt rushed and Dr. Nicholas patiently answered our questions even when I feel like I asked the same questions over and over. His staff was equally compassionate and patient. It appears that they do all their testing onsite and are capable of addressing the most complicated illnesses.I feel like we lucked out by finding this wonderful "old school" veterinarian who knows how to think on his feet; he was wise and not greedy. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our emotional needs. Thank you Dr. Nicholas and team for your compassionate treatment.”

“Dr. Eva is tremendous. We've brought two ailing cats here. One was referred to an excellent eye specialist in Jacksonville. The old boy today just had too many issues to deal with effectively. Dr. Eva conveyed the news with empathy and data. I would advise discussing the authority for resuscitation before signing any paperwork.”

“PetVet. Check your local Tractor Supply for the dates and time. Each location has the clinic once a month for just a few hour on Saturday. If you need shots without the Vet. Office price this is the answer. Also ask your local Dollar General if they have the clinic each month. Not all Dollar General location have the clinic.”

“By far one of the BEST vets. Also, her staff is excellent. There is so much care and concern from Dr. Norma, that you feel so comfortable putting your animal in her good hands.”

“My wife and I will be moving to Japan soon and Dr. Jeanine Wihbey, as well as many others in their office, have been very helpful in working with us on the necessary paperwork and vaccine requirements which are needed for our pup. We have been going there for several years and they have always been very responsive and organized. I would highly recommend St. Johns Veterinary Hospital to anyone who may be in need of a vet for anything ranging from routine check ups to help with preparing for international travel. Also, the staff in the front office is extremely friendly and makes sure your pet feels comfortable from the time you walk in.”

“Nobody ever wants to bring their fur baby to an emergency vet as opposed to their regular vet because it's unfamiliar and usually means the crisis is happening at a really bad time. But when Four had a urinary blockage for the first time ever and on a Friday night, we ended up at SARVEC for the weekend. I was terrified for him, but all of the staff and vets there were absolutely amazing. Sweet, kind, and compassionate. They explained what was happening and how he needed to be treated in terms easy to understand. The costs aligned with what the Internet had already prepared me for when researching what I suspected was ailing Four. But most of all, the staff encouraged me to call whenever I wanted and to actually come up and visit Four as often as I wanted during his hospitalization. They discharged him to our regular vet Monday morning for a final assessment instead of potentially sending him home too early (which could have caused a relapse). They educated me on the treatment/special food Four would need going forward after his emergency. And to my surprise - even though they had saved Four, discharged him, and moved on to their other emergencies - SARVEC called me a week later to check on how Four was doing. He wasn't just a one-and done emergency to them... they wanted to know if he was going to be okay long-term after their job was done.Nobody ever wants to take their fur baby to an emergency vet, but if you find yourself with no choice, absolutely call SARVEC first.”

“We have had to take our cat Adam for emergency care 3 times in the last month! We are very satisfied with the knowledge and perseverance of the staff who took a personal interest in Adam. They listened closely with what we had to say in diagnosing and treating Adam. We give a big thanks to Amber, Justin and Dr. Pokorny!‍”

“During Chewy's daily morning walks, covering three miles in the neighborhood, he enjoys venturing through bushes and tall grasses. Unfortunately, due to his physical characteristics as a Boston Terrier, he's more susceptible to eye injuries. Unaware of his left corneal injury initially, I noticed Chewy continuously blinking, squeezing, and closing his left eye. Concerned, I promptly scheduled an appointment with Dr. Venkat Gutta's Practice at St. John's Vets Affordable Animal Hospital, securing a same-day slot. The evaluation of Chewy's eye injury, along with detailed diagnostics and treatment explanations, was conducted with precision. Thanks to the accurate diagnosis and timely treatment, surgery wasn't necessary, and Chewy didn't lose his sight--a common outcome in such severe injuries. It took a month of weekly reviews for Chewy to heal completely and be discharged. I'm exceedingly satisfied with the service provided by Dr. Gutta and his team at St. John's Vets Affordable Animal Hospital and wholeheartedly recommend their care.”

“They take great care of my 3 dogs with many helpful tips. I have the plan for them as well. The cost works out less expensive then taking the dogs to their original local vet. It's about half the cost. I have a large Gsd puppy, a medium Mcnab pup and a Sheltie. Banfield is meeting all of their needs and mine they even helped with DNA testing for the 1st 2 since they were rescues.”

“We had called about our 15 year old Collie mix needing end of life service. they were very understanding and even on short notice, made arrangements to come to our home.Dr.John was sick as a dog, pardon the pun ,but still show great respect for Codi and us at our time of great sorrow. Codi weighted over 120 pounds and even being sick, helped me move Codi to his final resting place next to his mate Snow who we lost last year.I cannon't say enough about the care and dignity they showed. Thanks so much from me ,my wife ,Codi and Snow.”
