I reached out to Anita a week after losing my 5 year old orange boy. I explained my situation to her and said I was unsure if I was ready, but I was willing to look! I told her the personality type of my boy that I just lost and how my other kitty had been going room to room crying looking for a friend and she said “I think I have the cat just for you. Are you able to meet him today”. within 2 hours I was on my way to meet the kitty that I ended up adopting today ❤️ she was so helpful! Michelle was incredible too.

I adopted sweetest boy Carrot just a few days ago. I’m so impressed by Anita and her team of volunteers. They are kind, compassionate, tireless and honest. It’s very clear it’s all about the cats, as it should be. They went out of their way to get me all the information I needed to make the best decision I could for all involved. They gave me time to think and no pressure at all. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to adopt! Thanks Anita and team! You are truly amazing people!

We were searching for a kitten but Anita rightly guided us to a “senior” cat Milo who is the perfect addition to our home. Anita and Milo’s foster mom Paola genuinely care about doing what’s best for cats and people. We couldn’t be happier - thanks to Spay the Strays.

I recently adopted Jamison, now KitKat 😊 and I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience. From the moment I reached out, it was clear how dedicated and compassionate everyone is. Anita and María were very helpful. They truly care about every cat that comes through their doors and work tirelessly to ensure each one finds a safe, loving home.
The adoption process was smooth and they made sure my cat was healthy and ready to transition into my home. I support this organization 100%.

I cannot say enough good things about Spay the Strays. As a first time cat owner and someone who in the past thought cats were gross I needed a whole lot of hand holding and education. I was met with passion and patience. I ended up fostering which quickly failed as I was completely wrong about cats and have the purrrrfect match for me. Run don’t walk to support this amazing organization.

This is a great organization that diligently ensures that the cats are healthy prior to handoff, and that you as the owner are also a good fit for the cat. If you are looking for a cat or kittens, they are an excellent place to go!

Called regarding questions about a recent stray I found and was just beginning my research into how to handle. Anita was the first in the area to return my call and give me good advice on what vaccines would be needed, where to go to get the cat spayed and how to manage the whole process. Very straight forward and helpful!

Called to mention that a new home we purchased had a stray cat and was trying to have them rescued. Lady that answered the phone was extremely unprofessional and rude saying, “I don’t know where you’re from, but there’s stray cats everywhere in this area”. As we mentioned that the cat had no collar, she said, “That doesn’t mean anything. You don’t know what you’re talking about”. Avoid this shelter/rescue/lady at all costs. When someone comes to have a cat saved, maybe try to help them instead of shoving your opinions on shelters down on others. I’ll have you know plenty of rescues/shelters actually get pets adopted.

I can not recommend Spay the Strays Cat Rescue enough!!!
Both Anita and Cheryl were amazing, very attentive, and answered all of our numerous questions while walking us through every step of the adoption process.
We adopted 2 beautiful kitties which we have named Garfield and Morris.
Thank you very much for everything!!!

I had a wonderful experience adopting from Spay the Strays. They do their due diligence in making sure that you are getting a cat that is meant for you. I have adored getting this curious little munchkin as she is a perfect fit. Huge thank you to the team at Spay the Strays!

I’m incredibly disappointed with Spay the Strays and Anita’s unprofessionalism.
My boyfriend and I have spent three months researching and preparing to adopt 2 cats. We finally found two we connected with at a PetSmart, which led me to contact Anita for more information. The interaction was shocking. Her tone on the phone was dismissive, to the point where I had to ask if it was a good time to talk. She confirmed she was interrupted but continued speaking anyway.
When I explained that my boyfriend has a pitbull (who is well-trained) and that the cats would live in a separate, fully furnished bedroom on the property (not a shed), she immediately dismissed us. She assumed the space wasn’t suitable and claimed the dog was an issue without asking follow-up questions. I tried to clarify, but she showed no interest in understanding or considering our preparation. Instead, she ended the call.
This experience left me in tears. Anita’s judgmental attitude was disheartening and unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend this organization to anyone looking for a fair and compassionate adoption process.

Anita and Janice are knowledgeable, competent, and straight forward. All of which I have a great appreciation. They walk you through their process step by step. I came in for one and left with two, they're sisters. The kittens are amazingly active, curious, loving, and a true joy. I would see Anita at Spay the Strays again when I need to adopt again.
